Ambiance: the restaurant itself was beautifully designed, great layout, and the lighting made everything fit together. Location: it's located in downtown Half Moon Bay. A place that brings a sense of calm to walk around at night, but still fairly busy. Loved it. Food: we started with the burrata and beet salad that made a perfect starter. It was brought in a covered smokey glass that brought an amazing flavor. Omg, so so soooo good. Our main entres were the scallops and crab chowder for her and the bucatini cacio e pepe for me. The scallops were superb and well cooked. The crab chowder was also creamy and delicious. The bucatini was made in front of me, but the flavor was not what I expected. It was a tad bitter flavor. I was expecting a bit of creaminess since it was made in cheese. I don't blame them or how it was cooked for my incorrect expectation. I think that's how that dish is. Service: very well attended and very nice. The only thing I wish this place would do is serve some bread on the beginning without having to order. I would definitely come here again no doubt about it!!! read more

To start off, the vibe of the place was so calm and relaxed something we were seeking for lunch specifically this day. We were promptly seated and started with our first drink of choice. We ordered a nice cold bottle of Brut La Francaise Champagne Wanted to try the BURRATA FUMICATA because it sounded a bit different. It's SMOKED! It delicious and has a unique taste experience. Highly recommended if you like burrata! (They release the smoke at the table, pretty cool) Our second appetizer was the SEAFOOD FRITTO MISTO, nothing but deliciousness. It came with olives which was a pleasant twist. For main course we shared TORTELLINI which was beyond amazing and tasteful. Portions were just right and not an over kill. This location is great for a lunch / Dinner date. Staff was so friendly and attentive. All of our food came out as we finished and never a cold plate of food. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want to enjoy a great meal with a calming ambiance. read more

BRAVO Joaquin! In the jalapeño margarita you created! Very delicious! THANK YOU Fatoria E Mare on the fresh high quality food your Chef prepares... My sister and I enjoyed your happy hour and Joaquin's service (that made our experience more lovely!) outside on this beautiful sunny day! 4.5 - Major yums! A happening Italian spot on HMB's main drive! Service here was not incredible. We'd have to wait a bit for water and bread service. I will say the wait staff knows their menu well and is able to help you make your order choice - it's hard to choose as everything looks so yummy! I got the linguine al limone which was such a delicious and nice modern, California take on linguine with prawns. The green onion, chili and ginger add such refreshing flavors on a classic favorite dish. My mom got the grilled octopus starter which was perfect size for a lighter meal (I'd say it's a great larger app or lighter entree option). It was cooked perfectly and very fresh octopus. The restaurant was extremely crowded and the building shape makes the acoustics a bit hard to hear which makes for no complaints on my end, but just something for people to be aware of. read more

This place is every bit is good as TikTok makes it look. Amazing service from Luis! He was incredibly attentive, even to the point that he was able to bring us things before we even asked. I had a seafood platter with squid ink and it was absolutely delicious! We shared mussels for an appetizer as well, also perfectly delicious. My wife had a margherita pizza. I didn't try it but it smelled fantastic, just says she said it was. We came from 45 minutes away, definitely worth the journey. We will most certainly be back with family and friends. read more

So this place worked well for us as we like fresh pasta but also enjoy proteins with it. The dishes were well balanced both chicken and crab was plentiful in the respective dishes. The gluten free pizza dough was a great option that isn't always available in alot of places. The bread was not overly garlic and definitely not greasy from butter. read more

Today was our second time coming to Fattoria E Mare, and it was THE most memorable experience! We were celebrating my in laws 42nd anniversary. Immediately we were greeted by Pablo who sat us right away. My mother in law wanted to try a glass of wine (she doesn't normally drink wine) and Pablo was kind enough to explain the varieties of wine they had and what they taste like. He then brought out 3 different wines for her to taste before she decided on one. He also explained the menu in Spanish for my in laws and recommended a plate based on what they like. The chef then sent out a complimentary plate of garlic fries which were delicious! We also had our baby with us and he brought out a mini version of the water cups that they had for her. How cute!! Not to mention the cotton candy the chef brought out for her at the end, it was so kind of them. A special mention to our server who was absolutely lovely. She always made sure we were well taken care of and even played with the baby for a bit so we could eat. How awesome is she?! The food was delicious, and the staff was so personable, kind, professional and attentive. We can't wait to come back! read more

If I could pick the most exceptional restaurant in the Bay Area, this place would be IT! Carlos and Maya (his trainee) did such an amazing job taking care of us. The little details in their service count and I hope they can get an extra bonus for extra exceptional customer service. I really like that their ingredients are locally sourced so they support the small businesses and farmers in the area. Most restaurants should do this. It a a quiet restaurant at the entrance of downtown Half Moon Bay, ambiance is very chill, they have a bar, regular tables and private rooms for party. Knowing that I had appetizer, main course and dessert which usually make me feel full to the extent that I want to pass out and I did not this time, speaks volume to the freshness of their ingredients. Everything I ate (beet salad, spanish octopus, potato au gratin, tiramisu) was amazing, worth the price, cooked to perfection and they did not miss a beat! read more

We had a lovely dinner here on the patio on a Wednesday night with our little dogs. Service was incredibly warm and efficient. Food was definitely on the pricier side but everything including the wine was fantastic and beautifully presented. We have been meaning to try this place for a while and so glad that we did. There were just three of us but this also looks like a great spot for larger dinners. We noticed a couple elegant, private party rooms in the back of the restaurant as well. read more

Stopped here for a later dinner on a weekday night, and walked away pretty satisfied. We got: Burata- this came with melon, prosciutto, and micro-greens. Loved the contrast with the vegetables, which again were super fresh. Very summery. read more

First of all, HMB is a beautiful town. It may be a bit expensive, but this place, my lovely husband find in HMB is definitely worth the trip and money. We were there on Sunday night. It was raining heavily, but after an hour, the place started to get busy. My husband tried the cioppino and ended up licking his fingers. I had the branzino, which was an amazing fish - simple and tasty. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner or any occasion. Service was outstanding and knowledgeable. Carlos, our server did an amazing job timing our meals perfectly and even provided us with hot towels for my husband to clean his hands. I will definitely come back to try the seafood platter read more

Great food! Best cocktails in town, and FANCY decor - this is a very nice restaurant for a date night or special occasion / celebration. Their Happy Hour is a good deal, too. When you're in Half Moon Bay, CA, you already know you're in a relaxed costal town with incredible weather (especially when the sun is out) and you find yourself on Main Street..in particular 315 Main Street where you find yourself hungry for brunch, lunch or dinner. The restaurant is in the best part of Main Street just as you cross over the bridge and there it is..before walking in you will smell fresh baked bread and of course garlic and Italian spices. The menu changes with the seasons to take advantage of making delicious salads and cocktails..I started with a cucumber Hanger 1 gimlet which instantly calmed me from the every day stresses of life. This drink is pure perfection in that you sip it slowly and allow yourself to chill. The chef's recommendation was a new Half Roasted Chicken with spinach and cheese which took my breath away on the first bite because the flavors and the chicken melted in my mouth. I took my time and all that was left were the bones. I started with a butter lettuce salad with stone fruits and goats cheese which was seasonally fresh and delicious. I always finish dinner here with dessert and a refreshing after dinner cocktail to celebrate life. The Torta de Chocolate is my favorite dessert anywhere I may be in the world and this is better than just eating CAKE. It's lip smacking, mouth watering good from start to finish. A new fresh pineapple tamarind cocktail has fresh cilantro in the drink and I love it especially with the Torta de Chocolate. My photos are worth 10 Million words and the staff work hard to ensure you're enjoying everything about being in Half Moon Bay, CA. You'll thank me later. read more

Overpriced, small portions and not worth it. The food was mediocre also. Pappardelle was tough, cold and barely any meat. The bucatini was too lemony and barely fed my 12 yo. The pork chop lacked flavor and the whole dish was poorly prepared for $45. If it wasn't for the traffic leaving HMB, I would not be $200 poorer and in the drive thru at Mac Donalds. read more

Update! Second visit to Fattoria E Mare. Revisited for their venison in the prix fixe menu. This time they didn't have their usual $85 4 course prix fixe menu, but a $50 3 course special, choice of carrot veloute or caprese salad for starter, salmon or lasagna for entree, and a fruit tart for dessert. Our server Alfred was extremely kind and helpful; offering to request the Chef to make us the usual 4 course specially for us. We decided to not inconvenience the chef and order their current prix fixe special, along with the venison entree off their menu. The venison entree is different from their last but equally delicious, and done just right. Juicy and soft. It had a stronger flavor profile, saltier than the last. Nonetheless, my partner enjoyed it much. The salmon was equally great. Not at all dry with delicate crunchy skin, served on top of fresh corn and crispy greens. Entrees were so good we forgot to take pictures... The caprese salad was surprisingly tasty as well; came looking like a deconstructed salad. Not what we expected, but the pesto sauce pulled together the flavors of the heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. Lastly, the tarts, my date and I had been sharing every single dish, that our thoughtful server decided to get us 2 tarts instead. this tart I didn't like as much but it wasn't bad. Definitely coming back for a third time! It's a steal for the quality of food and service. read more

Fattoria E Mare - Pre Fix Main - Salmon, Crab & Avocado, Yum Puree, Kale & Chimichurri. - Italian Near Me - Half Moon Bay, California

My wife and I ate here for the first time, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food and service were top-notch, and the decor and ambiance were classy and friendly. This was the first time we had been back in this space after it was taken over from Pasta Moon, which moved a few blocks south on Main Street. The house cocktails were inventive and delicious, and we decided to split a pasta and a main course to save room for dessert. The Bucatini Cacio e Pepe was a well-made example of this ancient Roman pasta dish. The simplicity is in the limited ingredients, but the flavor was delightful and a feast for the senses. The Gamberi alla Veneziana offered gigantic prawns sauteed in garlic and wine and served over a bed of polenta. The intense flavor of the perfectly cooked shrimp was remarkable, and the polenta was light and fluffy. We were struggling to decide which white wine to pair with the meal, but Carlos, one of the managers, observed our confusion from afar and gave us advice and tastes of a couple different wines, which meant that our dining experience included an exceptionally good pairing of food and wine. We will definitely be back when we visit the HMB area. read more

Disappointed of the food. I ordered their ribeye and I would suggest not to order. The meat quality is not good! What a waste of money. Their clam chowder does not look like a chowder. I only enjoyed their scallop and focaccia bread. Spend almost $200 and super disappointed read more

I really hate giving a not so great review when it shows so many like the establishment. I really wanted to like this place.....but it's ok. As we parked the car across the street, it looked COMPLETELY EMPTY. I was almost hesitant to go inside and was quick to cancel the reservation, but my husband convinced me to give it a try. As we got closer, we did see a few guests, but for a Saturday night......there were just FOUR tables out of what seemed like 30+? I honestly had never seen such an empty restaurant, especially on a Saturday night. We arrived and the hostess was dressed SUPER casual. Look I don't want to judge, but if you're going for a classier vibe, sure didn't feel like it; the hostess was in tennis shoes and a denim jacket. Mind you this was dinner time, not lunch. The service was excellent, but then again, with four tables, how can it not be? Forgot our waiter's name but he was very attentive. We got our drinks, apps, entrée and dessert all in a timely manner. Now, the hardest party to critique.....the food. I will say, our app was very good. We got the Seafood Fritto Misto which is basically a little bit of all kinds of fried seafood. It was cooked perfect and had just the prefect balance of flavors. My pasta, which was the Linguini (w/Beef Cheeks & Tripe) was tasty. My husband's Risotto Al Nero on the other hand, not so much. I get that risotto's consistency and texture is all a preference, but one was a little too al dente and didn't spread much. It tasted more like a gooey rice dish. Flavors were ok; neither bad or good. It was also barely warm. Our focaccia was stale and the ratio of olive oil to balsamic vinegar was 90/10. For as much olive oil as they poured, we should've had more focaccia but it's all good. After one bite, we didn't eat much more. We had an affogato for dessert and usually this is served with mini biscotti. If a full-sized biscotti, there's either one or one broken in half. Here, they served two larger ones. Now if you're a biscotti lover like me, that sounds like a dream, however their biscotti was not good. I'm used to a hard biscotti that slightly softens when I get to the bottom as it will have been sitting in the ice cream for some time. Here their biscotti is soft and by the time you get to the bottom, it's SOGGY. We stopped eating it halfway through. And lastly, our drinks......I had a fruit based drink topped with my favorite....champagne. Unfortunately, I didn't read the drink and it was puree based. If you know your drinks, you know that purees always sit at the top. The drink was also OK as it was too sweet for my taste. The hubby got a Manhattan and he said it was ok. Something else to note, the drink menu is very overwhelming. It's like a BOOK and the drink names and photos do not match. I would suggest they keep it simple. Drink name and description at best. I will have to say, for all that we ordered, it was just $139 before tip, but if the food is just OK, that's not good either. Would likely not return. read more
