a person holding a cup of wine

My review is related to the experience I had with Vinoteca during the Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay. I saw they had a pumpkin spice sangria for $13, and ordered two for me and a friend. I don't know if this is because they were really trying to squeeze every cent from us or if it was an issue with the person pouring, but man do they skimp on their pours. The picture you see below is the amount of sangria I received without me drinking any yet - they pour only to about 70% of the cup size with half the cup being pure ice and fruits. Basically, this was maybe about 2 shot glasses worth of sangria in this very small cup already for $13 + tax. I finished it in two big sips. It only looks like this much because of the ice and fruit! We would have been happy if it was at least filled to the top line of the cup instead of whatever this is. Flavor was really good but it left me wanting more. I'd probably be better off making a bottle of this myself at home for around the same price.

Such a sweet wine shop and tasting room. I loved that you can just start with a couple 1/2 glasses. I particularly enjoyed the orange wine (this one was from a vineyard in Greece) and the servers/owner(s) were extremely friendly and hospitable hosts, who let us try a few different wines and recommended a lovely bottle of bubbles for me to take home as a gift for a friend. There was ample seating for us to choose from without a reservation after brunch on a Saturday and the space is nice and open with card and board games.

Vinoteca has an excellent international tasting menu. We found some wines that we have never tried before. The service was excellent and the ambiance was warm and inviting.

This place is such a gem "super cute, cozy, wine bar, with boardgames, comfortable couches, and an outdoor seating area. The folks working there are incredibly friendly and focused on ensuring you have a great experience. This is my second visit, we usually take our tasting flight and sit outside so we can keep an eye on the kids while they play at the arcades next-door. Best of all, they have a bubbly tasting flight!

What a nice tasting room. Great atmosphere in Half Moon Bay - nice to do a tasting next to a wall rack full of bottles! I tried the red flight, and it was amazing starting with a Nebbiolo, followed by a Malbec, and then a Tempranillo. Suppose a generous and really good deal for the price I had an empanada as a snack, and it was really good. I would consider this one of the better wine tasting places in the area.

Had a really nice drop in here during a fall afternoon. Kim was a great host and explained the wines thoroughly and well. Will definitely be back!

This is a must try. The pumping sangria is out of this world. Flavorful but creeper so becareful and paste yourself. But super yum so happy I found this spot

Came here for a friend's birthday. I wish there was more information online about their menu, but overall, we had a fantastic time, enjoying both the wine and food. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially for those of us less familiar with wine. The quaint, small setting adds to the charm, and I'll definitely return. It's a lovely spot to unwind and savor a glass of wine.

Cute local winery with some unique wines (try the "orange wine"!). Cute and cozy interior with occasional live music. Great find!

I'm usually mildly skeptical of 5 stars places because how great can wine tasting be. I was totally blown away from the start with their excellent service and how they provided us with some space to select the wines without rush. I was able to reserve a table for two very quickly as they were very responsible via email . We tried four whites and six reds. Our favorite red was the cab franc; I also really liked Pinot but generally prefer light wines. The outdoor space was also pretty nice, though the pizza chairs were a bit too colorful for my aesthetic preference. We interacted with a few people and they were all so personable and welcoming. One even brought us a wine book to look through some tasting notes. The wines and charcuterie board cheese were all quite unique and really affordable. My only regret was not purchasing a bottle. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic, friendly service. We enjoyed the Orange wine while our kids enjoyed the next door arcade. Cheese plate was also excellent.

You can leave after you finish your piece (come back the next day to pick up or pay $30 to have it mailed to you). She was very patient and enthusiastic about showing us the steps. The workshop was nice and cool with fans blowing. Highly recommend for a fun experience!

Such a fun and unique experience, perfect for anyone with any level of artistic ability!…read more My mom and I took a glassblowing class here and both opted to make the milk jug/small vase. They have a handful of tiers that have different items you can make including paper weights, ornaments, pumpkin, and a terrarium. Each tier is priced differently and gradually increases as you move up a tier. When you book/preregister for your class, you have to select the tier you want to make from, but you are able to change it when you get there. My mom had selected a tier 2 item when booking, but switched to tier 1 the day of, and we were charged appropriately. Instructors were very helpful and gave good insight and demonstrated how the process worked. They were very hands on, and could be even more so if you needed them to be. Our class had some younger kids as well as adults, and everyone was given great care and the assistance they needed. You take turns each making your piece one at a time, so the actual process per person probably took around 20 minutes for tier 0-2 items. Depending on class size and how many people are in your group/when you arrive, you could expect to be there anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5. You don't get to take your blowing home right away, it has to sit in a hot oven overnight to set, so I sadly haven't seen my finished product yet, but I can't wait to pick it up and start putting it to use! Good pro-tip, wear long sleeves! I wore short sleeves because I figured I would be too hot in long, but the molten glass is VERY HOT and can irritate your skin just from the proximity! My arm turned super red and had a little bit of a heat rash the rest of the day, but it went away by the next morning.
