And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!

Bartender Emily was full of cheer and helpful with dining suggestions. I had a beer and the meatball app to start, and a pie for dinner. Nice thin crust which is the reason I sought Nancy's. I observed other diners w pitchers of Sangria, as well as bountiful family-style salads. I took leftover slices with me, and yes... I was "that guy" eating pizza on an early morning flight.

I've driven by this place MANY times over the Years but this is my 1st time here. Nancy's is a time capsule. You've get that old school restaurant that has never been updated, but that's what makes it great. Friendly staff that makes everyone feel welcomed. Pretty simple menu, full bar, hometown style crowd of patrons. Food is, of course, made to order but with a reasonable wait time. Casual vibe hometown bar/restaurant vibe. We had the Rice Balls w/cheese & the Italian Pizza. They are known for their pizza, it is a PAPER THIN crust. You can still kinda pick it up the traditional way, lol, if it's a lighter toppings piece. Great experience, will definitely come back. Grades: Rice Balls w/Cheese: A+ Italian Pizza: A+

Came here with my best friend and it was packed when we first arrived…read more we had to wait a bit for a table, which was expected with how busy it was. We ordered bone-in buffalo wings, chicken Alfredo gnocchi, garlic bread, and my bestie got a personal vodka pizza with sausage. The food honestly did not disappoint, everything was flavorful, hot, and worth the wait. That said, the service was definitely on the slower side. Our waitress was very nice and polite, but things took a while overall. Even after the place started to clear out halfway through our meal, the pace didn't really pick up. We also waited at least 15 minutes just to get the check, which was a bit frustrating. One thing that stood out (not in the best way) was seeing a staff member wiping crumbs and debris straight onto the floor while cleaning tables, which wasn't the most pleasant to watch while eating. Overall, the atmosphere was really nice and the food was great, but the slow service and a few cleanliness issues kept it from being a full 5 stars. I'd still come back... just maybe not when it's super busy.

I came across Pino Pizza Restaurant while looking for something quick to eat before an appointment…read more The decor is pretty standard for an Italian spot--nothing fancy, just a casual, no-frills environment. It was definitely busy when I went; the place was packed and the parking lot was full, which says a lot about its popularity. If you're hungry and need something fast, this is a solid option. The pizza itself was good and hit the spot, though it's not somewhere I'd necessarily go out of my way for. One thing that did bother me was the food handling. The same employee who took my payment also put my pizza in the oven, and I didn't see any gloves being used. Under normal circumstances I would have said something, but I was short on time and very hungry. Still, it's something that shouldn't be overlooked. Overall, it's a convenient place to grab a quick bite, and I might return if I'm in the area, but the hygiene practices could definitely be improved.
