Ah, I remember the days when Fatback's was the new and cool place to eat. That was about a year ago, and everyone my family and I knew were telling us to try it. Of course we agreed as we were always looking for great local eateries. Big mistake. Our waiter was the kind that I hate most, a goober trying to act cool for the crowd. He failed, and it was a fall from power that left him face down on the pavement. First, he recommended the corn as an appetizer, and we gladly complied. That is mistake #2. The corn tasted more like popcorn, literally. It was burnt and way too salty, but we remained open-minded for the main course. I'll be straight and to the point on the entrées. They sucked. The mild sauce was far too spicy, and the meat was vomit inducing. Luckily the Fatback's craze ended many months ago. read more

This place was incredible! Local owned and operated. I had a cream cheese and pepper jelly with bacon burger. OMG! So good. Hubby had a pig on a cow burger. It was also very good. We both had the grilled green beans for our side. Yum! For our appetizer, we shared the homemade pork skins and a bowl of Brunswick Stew. Both were out of this world. Everyone working was really friendly and helpful. Portions were good sized. We will be back the next time we go through Dothan. read more

Ate lunch at Fatback's today and it was delicious. Had the brisket sandwich and fries. Real fries. Sports on 5 or so tv's. Watched Alabama win the National championship. Service was fast and friendly. I'll be back. read more

Great food, fast service, fair price, nice atmosphere! The fried Wickles that my wife and I shared were delicious and a nice break from the "usual" appetizers. I ordered a pepper jelly "sammich" which was served on a fresh bun that was slathered with cream cheese and pepper jelly then piled high with smoked pork butt and topped with crisp bacon; an interesting combination of flavors that tastes great. if you're looking for a new twist for pork, give Fatbacks a try! read more

I have ate BBQ from Texas to north Carolina and this place is the worse I ever had it says they have smoked BBQ but it is far from smoked it was very bland and the meat on the sandwich was over flowing but it was nasty it looked like it went into a blender but that was our first time and unless they change it will be the last read more

This place was delicious! We went because of the positive reviews and we weren't disappointed. The chicken and Brisket were yummy. We tried to pork skins because people said they were yummy and they were horrible! We were in Dothan for our grandson's football game and needed to eat before going back to Florida. We saw their sign and stopped in. The place inside is not appealing and I wish we had turned around. We ordered, received our meal. My husband had a few bites and a ROACH ran out from under his plate, then another was on the window seal next to the booth. I took my napkin caught it and took it to the waitress. The female Manager was standing with her. She said not 1 word when I said: "would you like this roach that was on our area?" The waitress actually stated, "would you like to move to another table?" Honesty to goodness, she asks that! I stated that would not rid anyone of your Roaches. I went back to our table, picked up our things. The waitress came over and said, " don't worry, there will be no charge". We just walked out. Add yet another disappointing bbq joint to the Dothan ara!!! i was really hoping this one would be the winner but for now im just going to have to have bbq at home or out of this city. if u want extra saucy puled pork this is not the place....only two come with your entree and after than you get charged for each one; and they come in a 2 oz ramekin (so you dont even get enough sauce to really enjoy a good messy pulled pork meal) . this is also he first bbq joint that doesnt include garlic toast or corn bread with the meal. Wait staff very unfriendly and unreasonable! I came on the recommendation of a friend who told me of the daily special, 1/2 off the appetizer. The waitress refused to give me the deal because I didn't actually receive the notification by email myself, to show her. So for about $2, you lost what could have been a life-long customer. I live nearby, eat out every day with my family of four, and actually enjoyed the food. But I won't be back.
