He not only remembered my favorite drinks but also recommended a few new ones that quickly became favorites. What stood out even more was how much he cared about making the experience special. Anthony gave me great food recommendations around the resort, and on the night of my birthday he surprised me by sending an assortment of snacks up to my room. It was such a thoughtful touch that made me feel celebrated and really added to the whole trip. Anthony goes above and beyond--great drinks, great conversation, and genuinely top-notch service. If you're at The Hard Rock, or enjoying the universal parks or resort, do yourself a favor and spend some time at the bar with him. He was there the last time we stayed there for my birthday as well. He's the best.

I walked in with my husband and we had to basically launch at a table as soon as they were getting up because of how many people were coming in after us trying to get spots at this tiny bar. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are very good however the seating is awful and I basically feel shoulder to shoulder with everybody around me and the seats themselves are pretty uncomfortable unless you get lucky and get a couch, which there are only a couple of. Drinks are on the higher end with then costing anywhere around $18 and upward of that. I will say my espresso Martini was one of the best ones I have ever had and was very flavorful. Our waitress was not the world's best and forgot to give us the water we asked for both times she came over . The only time she was very quick was when we asked her for the check so we could pay and leave. Overall a nice bar but not one that I would drop anything for because when it comes to this place, you are paying more for the aesthetic of looking like you're in a speakeasy that is centered around magic. It reminds me of a sports bar, they do have 1 TV so not crazy. I also usually see adults, particularly men, coming here to grab a drink to go. This spot is directly next to Chef Mickey's, which mean it can get loud and it can be really hard to grab a seat. My biggest issue with this spot is the people who have zero intention of buying a drink, sit at the tables or the lounge chairs and wait for their table at Chef Mickey. There is a really great view of Bay Lake but it can be so hard to sit here and enjoy a drink and the views. I do wish the cast members did a better job at Outer Rim and Chef Mickey telling people it is a not a waiting area. I also do not understand why Chef Mickey's does not have better waiting benches or seats. I do feel for the servers because the guests are taking up seats from those that would actually spend money and grab a drink. My wife and I have had to leave because there were no seats. The menu is simple, just drinks, no food. There is a pretty well stocked bar along with a few of their "specialty" drinks. They are nothing super fancy and I do think if they had some themed drinks to their name, outer rim, they would be more popular. I also used to love ordering their bourbon flight which they have recently removed. It was one of the best deals and I'm sure Disney realized they were offering this at a steal! I would say the best part of this lounge is the views of Bay Lake and getting to watch the monorail going through the hotel. It can be relaxing in the middle of the day when Chef Mickey's is closed and it is quiet in the hotel. As I said, I think this is more of a stop for people to run in and grab a quick drink to go. Overall this spot is fine. We do not run here all the time, esepcially when our favorite lounge is on the first floor, but we will swing by from time to time. It is a great stop if you are partaking in the Monorail Crawl. If you want food or a snack, the quick service location is directly across from here as well. You are able to grab food and bring it into the lounge. I would say it is worth looking at, it could use some updating, maybe walling off the side of Chef Mickey's and making it more enclosed, refreshing the carpet but the drinks are solid. But please if you are just waiting for your table at chef mickey's, remember that outer rim is a bar/ lounge. Do not sit here to wait for your table, you are taking away tips from the server.

Recently, it has been refurbished and moved back slightly as well as seeming to be larger. It is extremely popular so it would not surprise me if they did make it larger. This is just a walk up bar, no seating at the bar, it is all grab and go. They only serve wine, beer and mixed drinks, but they have a pretty stacked bar. They do not sell food, however, there are a few food options located very close by. The last time we were here, there were a few tables near the water and around the bar, but I'm not sure if they are permanent. This bar usually has a long line and waits. It's not super hidden and their drinks are good, so I don't really understand why it gets so long. The line also moves slow. I think the main reason for this is because this is home to the famous Ocean Attack cocktail: Don Q coconut rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, Sprite, dash of grenadine. When you order this, it comes with a little show, the bartender gets into the drink with a shark hand. Everyone is ordering it and it takes longer because they have to do their little skit with each drink. My wife likes this drink, she says its tasty but incredibly dangerous. She says you cannot really taste the alcohol but it hits you later. For me personally, it is a little sweet with the coconut rum, pineapple juice and sprite. It is not my favorite, I probably wouldn't really order one for myself. I prefer to just get beer when we stop here. As I mentioned they do have a full bar, so if you do not like one of their specialty drinks, you can order your own or your favorite. As I mentioned the line can get long, but I personally do like this stop. We do not always stop here, if the line is really long, we skip it and head somewhere else. They do have really good cocktails, great theming with Jaws and its another bar. My wide and I like to do crawls when we are in the park so if you are doing that, I would say add it to your list. My only complaint is there are no seats at the bar and they don't serve any food. I think some really great themed snacks would go perfect here. Currently they are celebrating Jaws 50th, so there is a food booth very close by serving food options and the bar has a special themed cup you can purchase for $4 extra. My friend got the slushy premade margarita and she mentioned it was hard to drink. Tasty but the icee made it hard to drink. We sat on the dock side and heard and saw a back/side view of the band playing from across the way. We had a great view of the volcanos erupting from the restaurant across the way. It was great weather making it a great night for margaritas on the dock. The price came out around $20 per drink. I took a star off because the bartender wasn't friendly. When asked what's the most popular margaritas her answer was "they are all good" she seemed upset because we didn't know what wanted and had questions.
