3.5 STARS First time trying fat ninja bite, and I really like the portions of the katsu. We ordered the burger, chicken udon stir fry, and chicken katsu with rice. The burger was the best out of the three items we ordered. The udon was underwhelming in terms of flavor, and the chicken katsu was chicken katsu; nothing to boast about other than the fact that the chicken katsu portion was huge! The tonkatsu sauce was exactly like your Japanese version of tonkatsu sauce. I'll come back just for their katsu burger.
My first time at Fat Ninja Bite, and it will not be the last. Fat Ninja Bite is tucked into a small, secluded plaza but it such a gem of a place that it deserves more business. Service is super friendly and the restaurant itself is very clean and modern. There's also a window table with several high chairs, spacious enough for a handful of people. However, I did opt for take-out for this order. If you are ordering at the restaurant, make sure to pick up your sauces and utensils on the table by the counter! I've been to several katsu places such as Brown Donkatsu and Katsuya, but this one is at the top of the list for sure.I ordered the Dark Meat Chicken Katsu on rice, which is my usual order at these places. The chicken katsu is super crispy and tender - especially with the sauce that is generously drizzled onto it. Each order also comes with a free curry mayo, which is HEAVENLY when paired with the katsu! The serving size is also super generous, I couldn't finish it all even though I was pretty hungry. It comes with a side of coleslaw, although I'm not much of a coleslaw fan so I kind of just skipped it. The rice is perfectly fresh and hot, not at all mushy. I will definitely be coming back to try their cheese katsu on rice at a later date. Definitely do not sleep on Fat Ninja Bite, this place will perfectly curb your katsu cravings!
Recently stopped by and still five stars for sure! I got the pork katsu burger as usual and each bite stayed crispy until the end. They are a little bit heavier on the sauce but if sauce bothers you, you can always request it on the side :) The portions and price are still very good. And staff were very friendly! Both burgers and rice katsus come with a nice serving of coleslaw. They have six seats at the counter top along the window for dine in. But if filled, can easily do take out.
Delicious and crispy chicken katsu. The portions are huge and very filling! Good for 1 hungry person or you can split it for 2 and the price is very reasonable. Their slaw is perfect amount of creamy, tangy and sweet flavour. They also gave me a curry mayo to try with the katsu and I enjoyed it! Very friendly staff. I've been coming here for years! This is mainly a takeout spot and it's across from pacific mall. I ordered the chicken katsu (white meat) burger and it came with sample size of coleslaw and curry mayo sauce. The burger is stacked with two slice of chicken katsu and it's pretty large! The burger is so filling you can easily split this into two meals! The taste is very good! The best katsu burger and good value for the price. This order usually comes with taro chips in the past but now it doesn't. I ordered taro chips on the sides anyways since it's my favourite.
4.5/5 stars for me. The katsu here might be the best I've ever had. All the items on the menu (minus the takoyaki and taro chips) are katsu inspired. There was literally like no seating inside when my friends and I stopped by during one of the later covid lockdown waves so unsure as to whether dining in is really viable. Nevertheless, you can see batches and batches of fresh katsu being thrown into the fryer and taken out. I ordered chicken katsu (white meat) on rice and the portion was pretty big. If you order chicken you can choose b/w dark or white meat. I think you get like 2 cutlets or 1.5 cutlets as opposed to just 1. The chicken was super juicy and moist and it comes topped with katsu sauce. The slaw was just whatever but the rice was nice and sticky. I'd definitely come back to try a katsu burger seeing as that's their specialty. I'll also come back to try their pork katsu as my friend got pork and he said the pork was fantastic as well. I believe it's a family run operation and wait times are not that long since the menu is simple. These guys are just really good at making katsu. P.S. parking lot is an actual nightmare. You may wanna park in the larger plaza next to this one as it's wedged between a gas station and the larger plaza.
It's been awhile since I last visited but the food is amazing as always! They specialize in katsu and I was first introduced to this restaurant for their massive katsu burgers! We ordered a croquette, pork katsu with noodle in soup, a dark meat chicken katsu burger and how can we not get the taro chips when we're there?! The katsu feels very clean, fried in fresh oil and the piece of katsu is massive in the burger! The taro chips are sliced super thin and please be warned, they're super addictive!! While you're there, don't forget to try their curry mayo! It's VERY delicious! The katsu with noodle in soup was great, but I was much more impressed by their Bourget and it definitely stole the show. The potato croquette was very fresh and delicious! I'm a little biased since I love anything made of potatoes! The portion is very generous and more than enough to share too! We got there around 6pm on a Friday evening and was greeted by a couple of staff behind the counter. We got lucky as we were the only customers there at that time. Shortly after we placed our orders, people started rolling in and within minutes, the booth seating against the window was full! The setup is more of a takeout/grab and go/quick bite restaurant. So turnover at the booth seating is quite fast! If you want to try katsu burger, I highly recommend this restaurant!
I have been meaning to try out FNB for a while and finally stopped in for a take out lunch. We ordered taro chips, potato croquettes, pork katsu sandwich and pork katsu with rice & coleslaw. Both the pork katsu sandwich and the pork katsu with rice & coleslaw were a huge hit with the hubby and my picky eater. The amount of katsu pieces piled onto the soft sandwich bun was hefty to say the least, topped with shredded cabbage, tomato slice, lettuce and extra zingy katsu sauce made for a belly bursting and satisfying meal. The potato croquettes came covered in sweet teriyaki sauce topped with bonito shavings. These were delicious when we had it hot and fresh. The taro chips got the least love from all of us as it was pretty tasteless. Eating something deep fried that didn't deliver the flavour punch for the calories consumed seemed like such a waste. We'll likely skip the chips next time. The katsus here are thinner than what we're used to (Katsuya, Mr. Donkatsu...etc) but still holds good crunch without being too tough. Our overall experience here was a good one so we'll likely return for another delicious meal soon.
Crispy katsu! Got the fish and dark chicken katsu burgers - personally would get the dark chicken next time as the fish was a bit soft (just my preference, not FNB's fault). Sauce was good and portions were decent too The wait wasn't too long but considering we were basically the only customers and they still said it would be a 15min wait, it seems like they just say that as their standard blurb Parking in this area is also a nightmare and it's pretty easy to miss the turn to get in....
I'm late to the Fat Ninja Bite party. I'm so glad that I finally got to do takeout from here at long last! Fat Ninja Bite is where Big Moe's used to be, just south of the Markham-Scarborough border. I have always avoided coming over here because there isn't a ton of parking. These days, the reverse is true, but I'll get to that weird moment in a bit. I follow Sunny, the owner, on Instagram. I don't know how I managed to, but I love how she refers to herself in third person. I enjoy her sharing what she's cooking at home and her excursions when she's shopping wholesale. I dig her personality. Lately, she noticed that many folks were having a difficult time finding yeast in store for baking. I was also in that boat. She felt so bad that she has been buying massive amounts of yeast from wholesale, splitting the yeast up, and giving them out for free to anyone who'd like some. Who does that?! Sunny does. She gave me a tub and indicated to pick it up last weekend. So, I did and I ordered takeout through Skip the Dishes after running my errands. I got the following: - Beef dumplings - Taro chips - Chicken katsu burger with coleslaw My order was ready at 2:45 pm on a Saturday afternoon. I got to the parking lot at 2:44 pm. Yeah, I'm that punctual. What annoyed me was an older man who decided to park his massive Oldsmobile clunker of a car diagonally across four parking spots in front of Fat Ninja Bite. What the hell, man?! That's so inconsiderate for someone as old as you to do. I looked at him and gave him such a nasty stare. I drove all the way to the back of the parking lot and turned around. He got the message and headed in my direction. I gave him the same look and shook my head. I then backed into a parking spot that he had occupied. He drove past me and left. The door to the eatery was open. It was nice to not touch a door handle. There were three staff members. All three said hi to me under their masks. I let them know that I was picking up my order and got the pleasure of meeting Sunny. She handed me my order and yeast for baking. I was so excited to finally eat food from here. She was happy and hoped that I'd enjoy her food. She also said that she felt that she knew me, which was sweet. I feel the same way about her, too. I said that I was going to take a few photos because I'm that way. She was perfectly fine with it, which I appreciated. I drove home and tore the contents of my bag open. I was hungry. The chicken katsu burger is massive! You get three times the protein when you compare it to the bun that is already a generous size. It was fabulous. I temporarily put the katsu that didn't fit in the bun off to the side, ate the burger, and then ate the katsu as if they were chicken tenders. The burger is delicious! I got cabbage, lettuce, tomato, and garlic sauce on it. It was delightful and filling. The chicken was dark meat, with plenty of flavour and fried to perfection. It was crispy on the outside and so juicy inside. I got a side of coleslaw that was creamy and crunchy. It was the perfect compliment. The beef dumplings were amazing. The beef filling was flavourful and juicy. The wrapper on each dumpling was thin and done right. I was happy. It looked like takoyaki when I first looked at it, but the hidden beef dumplings said to not judge. Taro chips. One word: crack. I got a bag and OMG, I need more! Each taro chip is super-thin. These chips have seaweed and a hint of salt on them. They are highly addictive. I love them. I kept on looking at each chip that you'd think that I was indeed high or something. I gave some to my mom when I swung by and safely did a drop-off. She called me and said that she ate them all. She didn't even think of sharing them with my dad. Gone. If my mom approves and devours food without sharing, it's a strong indication that it's yummy. The taro chips are a must. They are crazy good. I am a huge fan. I can't wait to stuff myself silly again with more good eats from here. (161)
My dog has been a fan of Fat Ninja Bite for the longest time! His favourite are taro chips and chicken katsu. As his owner/servant, I have no choice but have to make him happy by ordering for him at least once a month! The food is always consistently good and fresh. Service is friendly and fast. I really appreciate their efforts to provide curbside pick up and contactless payment option via Etransfers. The perfect comforting food during this time of uncertainty. Thanks so much for staying open 7 days a week.
Wow So I got referred by my buddy to check out this place after he sent a picture of his chicken katsu sandwich which was ginormous!!! Checked it out tonight and wow..... What great food!!!! The portions are huge I ordered a pork katsu sandwich while my wife got the chicken katsu sandwich with white meat Sandwich was delish and filling Loved the panko crumbs which made it light My wife had to scale her sandwich to one piece of chicken as she got full right away!!! Taro chips are super yummy with a nice salt and seaweed topping Ordered the beef dumplings as well.... Had a nice topping of bonito flakes on it Overall a great place for a decent fast fusion fast food meal!!!! Would definitely go back again!!!
This was a convenient spot to grab takeout. The high ratings was appealing so we decided to check it out. I knew the katsu burgers was what we should've ordered but just wanted to avoid using our hands to eat. I ordered the bulgogi noodles and although it was good, it's nothing special. I should've went for the katsu rice - had a piece to try. The dumplings were also a nice added touch.
This place is located beside the gas station on the south east corner of kennedy and steeles. The parking lot is super small and parking is a bit tight. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly cheerful staff at the counter. Service was quick and very good. Between two people we ordered the chicken katsu burger, both dark meat and white meat, and a bag of taro chips. The burgers were delicious and I loved the fact that they made the katsu fresh when we ordered. The portions are huge. I also liked how the white meat was not dry and quite tender. read more

Pork Katsu with rice ($12.50) Look at the size of that big katsu! Pork was cut thin, nice and tender. could have used more sauce though - the pieces under the top layer had no sauce (oh yes, there were more pieces underneath). The only downside with ordering Katsu for takeout is by the time you eat it when you get home, it looses it's crisp - even if the container is aired out. Still tasted good though. Came with coleslaw and rice. read more

Second time being here (first was 2018/2019). Their katsu portion seem to have gotten bigger(?) Price has increased as well to mid 15$ after tax. There's also a free curry mayo sauce u can get, which taste very good. Parking sucks like always; it's very tight and very little spots. Cash and debit only. read more
This is an absolute Markham gem if you want to grab delicious Katsu!! The workers are always so friendly and welcoming whenever a customer steps in. They are usually pretty busy with orders as everyone knows about this location, and they also do catering orders as well. Their menu offers a few different katsu dishes; rice, noodle and burger options. For these, there's a chicken (dark/white) and don katsu options. They also have snacks, bulgogi and other Korean food options if you're craving for something else. You can choose to dine in as they have some spots by the window available. We ordered the katsu with white chicken meat, and the don katsu rice box. Let me tell you, both of these were big portions. For the burger and rice, the katsu itself is probably equivalent to 2 katsu pieces together. Both katsus were equally fried to perfection as it was crispy, flavourful, and the meat inside was tender. The meat is abit thinner than other katsus, but I prefer it like that. As we were eating, the female cashier was checking on us to see if we liked our food which was nice since a lot of take out restaurants wouldn't check up on you. Overall, we were both very full an happy (as expected). I will definitely be back!! read more

Yep. That's 5 stars up there. If you hit the trifecta of food then you get an automatic 5. Great Service, Good Value, and Great Taste. I checked into this place twice in two days. One day with JK-the Yelpernaut of the Year, and the second with a Yelppy (for those who don't know what this is - It's a Yelp Puppy). I used the Yelppy as an excuse to go the second day. Fat Ninja Bite is awesome. During my three places in three hour tour with JK, this was my favourite stop. The restaurant is in a tiny strip mall located on the east side of Kennedy, just south of Steeles. For those travelling south, It is next to the Petro-Can station. If you are travelling north and you see Petro-Can. Yep...you missed it. Now you have to do the horrible thing of trying to navigate back from all those Markham drivers you heard about, running in and out of PacMall. Some of you may just not want to risk your life at this point, but turn around whichever way you can. This place is totally worth it. Parking is a premium during busy times so it might make sense to park at Pac Mall and walk over if you can. The menu is simple. You can have burgers, rice dishes, even noodles, and dessert/snacks. If you have any of their Katsu, dessert and snacks will be off your list as you may not have room! The Katsu is HUGE! You can probably make multiple sandwiches from one serving. I have been known to pack away quite a bit of food in one sitting but this was a challenge. There are 3 Katsu. Pork, dark meat chicken, and white meat chicken. You can have it on a bun or with rice. Either way is good. The FUN is on the BUN, as the Katsu is three times bigger than the bun itself. Fork and knife comes in handy or you can reconstruct the burger and try to get your mouth around it - you may need to do the "Guy Haunch". For Beef eaters, they have Burgoli - haven't tried it yet but next on my list. The staff here are perky, funny, friendly and fast. Both times I've been there, they made my Katsu fresh - need to or the breading loses it's crispiness and the meat dries out. You also know it's fresh because as the orders go by, an older gentlemen out back, is constantly beating the meat...er...tenderizing the proteins...er whatever! :)) At around $10 for a Katsu burger that will easily tame a big appetite, it's a bargain for such great tasting food. Pick up a pack of Taro chips too - soooo good. Not an ice-cream guy but that also looked wicked awesome. Now only if I can get a client in the east end of town, I can drop by more often. Hospitality 100% 5 STAR Food 100% deliciousness!! Location is small but so are most gems ;) Owner Sunny and chef Patrick were so friendly!! Can't wait to come back and see them again! Very simple clear menu with awesome pictures! Katsu is their game here and you can get it over rice or noodles, but I recommend burger style. It's massive!! And I love the breading and sauces. I personally got the Don katsu burger which is pork. I love all the veggies :) makes it both a heavy and refreshing dinner. My boyfriend got the rice with chicken katsu. You can choose white or dark meat which is nice :) End the night with their ube soft serve. It's my first time having ube, so I'm not sure how this flavour tastes traditionally, but this ones quite delicious. Very creamy and light and the most beautiful purple haha! And the bottom is lined with rice Krispy cereal!! My favorite!!!! Why are we not all eating ice cream with this cereal???!!!! This needs to be a thing!! They make fresh taro chips every morning as well. These are really yummy chips seasoned with seaweed seasoning. I really like these but OMG they are going to get addicting!! Come by this place! Great, friendly staff here. Great value for food. There's only about 16 seats so you might want to consider take out. Lots of people seem to do that :) very popular choice! read more
Fat Ninja Bite has been on my hit list for a very long time! I've seen lots of photos posted of delicious looking (and huge) food, I've read the reviews, and I've seen friends checking in on Yelp and FB. I've even had friends tell me that I should go but never understood why they just didn't invite me. Hmmm, friends? I even came here once, only to discover that they didn't open on Tuesdays. They do now! First of all, the very friendly and welcoming staff greeted me very enthusiastically as soon as I stepped in. I thought it was just me but they greeted everybody that way. They were very engaging during my entire visit. JK, a regular visitor here, ordered for us. We had the Chicken Katsu (dark meat) burger and an order of Takoyaki (octopus). Later, we had some delicious Taro chips and purple Taro ice cream, something new for me. It was all quite yummy! The chicken was so deliciously tender and the breading was extra crunchy, making for a wonderful contrast. I heard they make their own breadcrumbs from bread made specially for this purpose. Hey, whatever they're doing, I'm a believer! The takoyaki, not something I would normally order, was good but could have been crisper. It had good flavour. The taro chips were really nice but I guess I had a quota because JK took them home. At least she allowed me to eat most of the ice cream. I'll definitely come back. And bring more friends. read more
My first review of 2020 and I can't think of writing anyone but Fat Ninja Bite! I have been eating there since they opened a few years ago and I think I owe them a review! This place is my go to for a quick bite if I want a good katsu burger, or when I need catering to have a house party! Service: Super friendly staff that greet you with a smile! Food: Their pork, chicken, fish katsu are made to order. I always see them coating my katsu before it goes to the fryer! Other items like taro chips are also highly recommended! So if you want an epic katsu burger meal, this place is a must visit! Happy 2020 everyone! read more
Me and my friends got takeout at Fat Ninja Bite and everything was fantastic. We go two Pork Katsu's one Chicken Katsu, spicy dumplings and taro chips. Pork & Chicken Katsu: The meat was quite tender, and it was deep fried very well. Although a bit greasy the sweet and tangy sauce did the perfect job to balance everything out. The Katsu sets also comes with cole slaw and rice. The rice was alright, not overcooked, but not as high quality as I expected. We ate it pretty fresh and it still clumped up. The cole slaw was also alright. The pieces of cabbage were a little too large for my liking and it wasn't as acidic as I'd like. The star of the show is definitely the katsu though. Fried really crunchy and the sauce just tied everything together so well. Spicy Dumplings: They were pretty basic fried gyoza. The spicy sauce was just a regular sweet and sour chili sauce. Nothing too special. Taro Chips: These were great! Cut VERY thin, and fried to a nice crisp. Seasoned (not enough) with seaweed to give it a little flavour. Personally, I would have liked if the taro chips were a little more seasoned. But, I understand if they wanted the natural flavour of the taro to shine by not adding too much seasoning. Overall, Fat Ninja Bite is a place you'd want to go to if you live near the Pacific Mall area. It's not too expensive and the food is quite good. read more

Fat Ninja Bite is located just south of the south east corner of Kennedy and Steeles. In a location that has countless Asian places to eat being that it's the border of north Scarborough and where Pacific Mall begins in Markham is a small, bar seating place called Fat Ninja Bite. Funny name sure but serious food however. This place basically makes what is known and turns it into something simple yet different and new. Katsu on rice is more typical and on the level of comfort food but if you want to try something just a bit different how about an entire pork or chicken cutlet on a burger bun? While it doesn't quite equal an entire pounded schnitzel place on a mini bun the meat served it substantial. I had the chicken katsu while my friend ordered the pork. The pork was twice the diameter of the bun easily. The chicken was more along the ways of how the burgers are at Wimpy's in that they're long enough that you could fold it and make it basically a double chicken katsu portion of meat. Not only are the servings larger than the bun but really they are also very good. I can't speak to the pork but the chicken was not dry in the least. The potion was hot, steamy, fresh and the breading was that right amount of crisp and quite honestly I can't say I've had a better katsu to date. I also ordered the croquettes on the side and they are a nice change of side as opposed to just rice or fries. I really liked this sandwich and while I didn't fold it I actually cut off the excess and ate them afterwards. The one knock if anything of this place has nothing to do with the food but the parking here. It's kind of hard to park in this strip mall only because there's not really that much room as far as a driveway to the place which is adjacent to the gas station. There's not much room to turn in so I ended up backing in as I usually prefer to park but still there's not much room to drive, two way traffic through this tight area. read more

I initially wanted to come here because the concept of chicken katsu burger was so smart!!! However, after seeing the way it was placed on the sandwich, I don't think it was a great idea afterall. It makes a great picture though. The chicken katsu was pretty good! Flavorful and traditional. The problem was that the chicken katsu protrudes waaay past the bun, so you really don't eat it like a burger. Secondly the bread was just a plain sesame bun, nothing special there. There was a cole slaw on it that made it taste uniquely separate from a burger, but I don't think it went super well combined with the chicken katsu. A downside about this place is that it is debit and cash, no credit card. Another downside was the tiny tiny parking lot and small dining area. This place is mostly a dine and dash, not good for large parties. Don't think I'll be back, but thanks for the experience! read more
There weren't too many options on the menu but that makes deciding on what to order easier. I went with the katsu burger and my friend went with the katsu with rice and we shared a small order of dumplings. I was shocked when I went to pick up my burger. It was huge! I got a knife and fork and cut off pieces to eat instead of trying to pick it up and taking bites. It was fried well and had a satisfying crunch. If you don't have a big appetite I'd recommend sharing an order since neither my friend or I was able to finish our meals. We found that the dumplings' wrapper was too thick and it took away from the flavours. Good luck if you're turning left when you leave the parking lot. Kennedy is a very busy road. read more

Got take out from here for a my family. Small gem in the corner of a plaza beside the gas station. Very delicious food - cutlets were crispy and even though we got take out it was not soggy at all. Flavours were on point. Its like a dine in or take out fast food joint w higher quality items. Parking however is its major downfall - small tight spots. read more
Fat Ninja Bite has become my go to when I'm craving for fried katsu burgers or rice. Situated on a very busy and convenient location. Restaurant mainly for takeout but does have some tables if you wish to eat it freshly there. I've been here many times over the years and what I'm impressed with is the consistency of the food quality and portion size. You can order all sorts of fried pork, beef, fish and chicken meals which comes with burger buns or steamed rice. They also have appetizers such as takoyaki and potato croquette. This visit we ordered the Chicken Katsu Burger (white meat), Chicken Katsu (white meat) with Salad, Pork Katsu with steamed rice, Takoyaki/Potato Croquette and a Taro Chips. All meats were crunchy and fried perfectly. Meal also comes with side coleslaw which was very creamy and tasty. The fried katsu is gigantic. Their signature hot sauce is also my favorite if you like a spicy kick. Everytime I come here either for takeout or dine in, owner and staff are very friendly. Recommend that you order ahead of time if you want takeout cause this place has become very popular and busy. Overall a must try for all katsu lovers! read more

Many times I've had Katsu disappoint me. Katsuya, local Korean resto, izakayas...dry and hard after a few bites. Not FAT NINJA BITE. For $10 you can get a huge piece of katsu - watch as the meat is dipped in batter and fried to order. Juicy, and crispy I haven't had better katsu. I had the katsu chicken burger, and I folded the katsu to make a triple decker chicken burger, with slaw and pickles. Ask for the sauces on the side, I had a spicy mayo and another white creamy sauce. read more
Today was my second time to Fat Ninja Bite. My first visit was on their opening week and I have great memories of that day. This is a small Korean joint catered towards takeout although there is bar style seating available for up to 12. The cashier is extremely friendly and eager to answer any questions you might have. The last time I was here we ordered the Don Katsu (Pork Burger) and Chicken Katsu Noodle. The noodles were good but the star here is really the Katsu. Today I ordered the Chicken Katsu (Dark) Burger. I was so surprised when I turned around and saw the plate. A giant piece of thinly pounded chicken covered in fresh Korean breadcrumbs and fried to perfection. The Katsu was covered with a brown sauce and is a little under seasoned, my only knock on this. The burger is topped with thinly shaved cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo. The burger was awesome and was accompanied with a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was thick cut, very creamy and also very good. A unique item they serve here is Taro chips with a Nori (seaweed) seasoning. While I did not have them this time, I did them during my first visit and recall them to be quite tasty. Very light and delicate, a bit salty, just how chips should be. If you're in the neighbour and craving some Katsu be sure to check this place out! read more

Went to this place solely because of reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Got the chicken katsu burger and stir fry noodles with chicken katsu (both white meat), and they were amazing! Chicken is super thin and crispy and the portion of chicken is so massive it comes out the burger! Got the same chicken for the stir fried noodles and very thankful that they pack the chicken in a separate container for take out so it doesn't get soggy! Overall, very great experience! Friendly staff, about 10 spaces for seating, and excellent taro chips that are a must try! PS- If you can dine-in, I'd recommend it! The chicken is at its 100% best when it's straight off the fryer and super crispy! read more
What better way to celebrate Father's Day than to have an amazing "Tonkatsu" or "Donkatsu" lunch. Since this is a Korean place, they refer it as a Donkatsu which is a breaded deep-fried pork cutlet originally from Japan. Since Katsu is my husband's favorite food, it was a perfect place to bring him here for Father's Day. The food was absolutely amazing! My daughter and I shared the Chicken Katsu with rice and my husband got the Donkatsu sandwich. It was so so good! The portions were huge especially the Don Katsu sandwich. We also finished off with the purple yam ice cream parfait. My daughter really wanted the green tea flavour which they didn't have. The 2 flavours were sesame or purple yam ice cream which she didn't think that she would like. The lady serving us at the time was nice to give some for her to try so it made it easy for her to go with the purple yam flavour which she ended up loving it. Keep in mind that this place is not a sit-down restaurant. There is one long bar table along the window which seats about 9 people. We were very lucky to get 3 seats. The parking is also ridiculously small so parking is the other problem. The staff was super friendly and place was super clean. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

The place was a little hard to find, it was hidden inside a small plaza, took us a while to find the place. The restaurant was very cozy, and they even have some stickers with their logo on it for you to grab. So let's talk about their food!! We order the Don Katsu burger, and the Don Katsu was ridiculously long, the bun were toasted, and there were some mayo, cabbage, tomatoes, and pickles, it even came with a small cup of coleslaw!! I loved the Don Katsu!! It's not dry at all, very tender, the crust was thin but very crunchy, it was very fun to eat with cuz of how big the Katsu is. It's totally worth the price, only $10.99 for the burger, and the two of us had to share it in order to finish. Now moving on to the taro chips ($2.50), it's super light and thin yet very crispy, and some seaweed powder were sprinkled on the chips, very tasty and addictive!! The service was also great! This is where big mole burger used to be. I decided to try the chicken Katsu. I love how they breaded the chicken, it didn't tasty oily at all and bread crumbs. The stir fried udon was mediocre, can use more flavour. They discontinued the wedding noodle. We also tried the pork katsu burger. The katsu was huge. It is very authentic Korean food. I see this guy ordering platter of burgers and taro chips. Great idea for ordering something diffeeenr for parties. Will return to try other items on the menu. read more
YUMMY!!! located across the street from Pmall, FNB is a small takeout style restaurant. There is a row of bar seats to dine in if you want to eat it fresh. The food itself is delicious. Their Katsu is huge and extremely tender. They have cutlery you can use to cut the katsu in pieces to eat first, before making your way to the burger. They also have a unique Japanese curry mayo sauce you can add for extra flavor. I can see why everyone raves about this place! read more
Had a very pleasant visit here. Friendly greetings from passionate staff. Great space, good food, good portions. Don't really have anything to complain about. I specifically came here to try the unique concept of sticking a katsu into your traditional burger to replace the burger + infusing it with Jap/Korean-style flavours. I had the delight of trying the Cheese Don Katsu burger and the Chicken katsu burger (both $10.99). About a 10 min wait because they're made to order. But the wait was worth it because, my oh my, those cutlets are HUGE! My bf's chicken katsu burger actually came with two cutlets! He had to take one out otherwise he wouldn't have been able to place it in his mouth! I was curious to see how my cheese don katsu was made, so I sliced it in half; the cheesy goodness oozed out without fail. The cutlets are mentionable: big and very crispy. The rest, not so much (slaw, sauce, bun). I like that they're open late for my late-night hungers (late-openers in this neighbourhood are a high demand, by me). Their noodles/rice menu looks ok, their ice cream looks like it's worth a try. Since I'm a quanTity-over-quaLity type of person, I'm definitely back for a second helping of chicken katsu burger if it comes with two cutlets! (PS. I found myself comparing this cutlet to 'Hot Star' across the street in Pmall. If I were to pick, I'd probably choose here. You're paying about the same price w/ the same wait (and prob the same parking issues, lol), and this one comes with more carbs! The good: everything. I ordered the don katsu cheese burger and it was huge! I loved it. The katsu is done well with a perfect amount of breading and meat in between. It comes with coleslaw too. We ordered take out and they missed one of our orders which was the dumplings. When we went back, they were very nice and offered a few more to make up for it. The dumpling flavours were delicious - can't decide which one is better! The service is wonderful. Absolutely friendly staff. The bad: limited seating. Takes about 10-15 mins to make but it's worth it! read more
Location/Service It's located right across pacific mall, beside the PetroCanada station. Parking is very limited as it's more of a takeout place. There's additional parking at the church a bit down or probably park at pacific mall would be another choice. Inside it's a small restaurant with around 5-6 seats. Staff are very helpful in explaining the different menu items and which ones are particularly popular. Food I ordered the Chicken Katsu Burger. It's made on the spot, so it does take a little time (or even more when there's a lot of orders to fulfill). Very well done - the cutlet was extremely huge, almost twice the size of the burger. It is messy to eat, but I love the idea (plus there are some cutlery available). The chicken was still soft on the inside and the batter was at a minimum to not feel overly fried. There's the standard katsu sauce inside the burger - so it's too dry. I would definitely come back to try their chips and ice-cream, which I heard pretty good reviews from it. read more
Found this place through Yelp and all the great reviews. Came for some take out on a Saturday night. Ordered a Cheese Donkatsu burger and a side of dumplings (they sold out of the taro chips! Make sure to go earlier if you want to try!) Unfortunately there was a slight mishap and they packed the bag without the dumplings, which I didn't discover till I got home. I drove back and they made it on the spot and gave us a few extra, so that was nice. The burger was huge! The taste was great and it was still nice and crunchy. The cheese could have been more melty inside though, I'm not sure if it got too cold after driving back and forth. The dumplings came topped in your choice of Korean style or Ninja (they gave us both cause they forgot) and are quite tasty. Definitely have to come back to try the taro chips! read more

It has been in my hit list since the opened but the congestion of the Kennedy / Steeles intersection along with the lack of parking had always driven me away. I am sad it took me so long because the Katsu is really yummy and the staff is super nice. I would still try to come in during less busy times or will find them on skip the dishes (I did see a few skip the dishes orders go out). We also tried the takoyaki. There were large chunks of squid inside and the outside was crispy while the inside remained soft. They were cooked beautifully. I will definitely be coming back! read more

My absolute favourite place in all of toronto for donkatsu! This little hole in the wall joint looks like it's not the ideal place to dine, but their donkatsu is to DIE FOR. I have always gotten the cheese donkatsu and not only is the portion size generous, it is not overly crispy and very gooey with the cheese, which I loved. The Taro chips here are also very good. You can help yourself to their sauce. Try the cheese donkatsu! read more

Don't be fooled, their "burgers" are actually chicken sandwiches. 3.5 stars for the food but the warm and attentive customer service bumps it up to 4 stars. Sunny, the owner, is truly a ray of sunshine. She greets all her customers with a smile and cheerful "hello", checks on them during their meal and thanks them as they leave. I ordered the cheese Don Katsu Burger with a side of Taro chips. They had just finished deep frying a batch of them so she offered me a few to munch on while I was waiting on my order. I sat on one of the stools and noticed Kpop playing in the background which added positive energy and liveliness to the place. They have a strong heater above the seating area so I was nice and toasty even though it was chilly outside. The sandwich is massive and the katsu sticks out of both ends. The panko breading is processed finer than the usual so the katsu was only crunchy around the edges. The cheese in the middle is mozzarella so it didn't add flavor to the sandwich. The sauce was sweet so I asked for their spicy mayo which has sriracha in it to balance the flavor. It made for a decent and filling sandwich. The taro chips which were perfectly seasoned with pink Himalayan salt and tiny bits of nori were DELISH! read more
I ordered the katsu burger with cheese ($10.99) and it comes with creamy coleslaw on the side. I really enjoyed this burger as it was not oily or dry. It's a big burger with a big piece of tender don katsu held between soft sesame buns. The don katsu was breaded and fried nicely. The crunchy slaw in the burger was dressed in a thousand island type of dressing that wasn't overpowering. I liked the katsu dressing that was lightly drizzled on top of the don katsu, giving the burger a good savoury flavour. The cheese in between the don katsu doesn't make a big difference in flavour, the burger is still tasty without it. I would skip the cheese next time and order the regular katsu burger 5/5 burger Their taro chips are addicting! Seasoned with nori and salt and are made fresh daily. Their ube soft serve has good flavour but the ube flavour is not very strong. You can taste the vanilla base of the soft serve and the ube flavour is quite subtle. The colour of the soft serve is quite pretty and the combination with the rice krispies at the bottom is really yummy! Their other food like noodles are decent but it doesn't stand out like their katsu burger. Great service, the cashier is very friendly and even gave us a sample of their taro chips when we were there. This is more of a take out spot since there is only around 8~ seats available. read more

Mmmmm I was a little hesitant about this place since it was just a burger but it was so much better than I expected! I got the dark meat chicken burger and it was so tender and flavorful. There was enough veggie and sauce to counter the oil from the chicken. I like the side salad as well, really helps with the heavy burger. I couldn't finish all the meat that was in the burger, I was surprised by how big it was. I only wish the place was a bit bigger so I could sit across from a friend or bring more people at a time. If I ever want something casual in that area, I'll definitely go back. read more
