    Pepperoni and jalapeño pizza
    Josh D.

I ordered Fat Lorenzo's for a Vikings game viewing party. I've had the pasta zydeco on my radar for a while, but picked up a pizza on a whim to share. Gotta be honest. I wasn't blown away by either and I'd say overall it was just okay for the $50 I spent. For the pasta - I had them hold back on the roasted corn. It just didn't seem quite right for my typical cajun pastas (maybe it is a more traditional "cajun"/creole thing?). Overall - there wasn't much flavor or any spice at all and the dish had a crazy amount of peppers/onions (which initially had me excited). It ended up like a 1 to 1 ratio with the noodles! I ended up with a plate full of peppers/onions. I think calling this pepper and onion Alfredo may have been more accurate The pizza was decent but honestly reminded me of discount chain pizza without the discount price. I added jalapeños and have to say I thought the order got screwed up for green peppers (which I had plenty of with the pasta). I checked the receipt so I assume they got it right - but the way they were cut the chunks were huge and not circular like I'm used to. I think they also were de-seeded because there was zero kick. Overall - I'm a little underwhelmed.

I had their pizza years ago and it was ok, but for this visit we just stopped in for some Gelato on a hot day, it was perfect.

I had been wanting to try this for years and finally stopped today. Nothing spectacular about this place. I was not greeted upon entry. We tried their Fats Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, and garlic cheese bread. I was not impressed at all. The cheese wasn't melted and the dough was soggy. They have a small lot to park in but other than that, good luck. I will not go back again.

My family and I stopped in for a early dinner. We sat outside and our server was amazing. He was friendly and on top of it. The pizza came out fast and our drinks stayed full. My wife did order a salad and that would be the only thing we wouldn't order again due to lunch meat and cheap lettuce but the pizza made up for it.

    Baked rigatoni with sausage

Attentive service for ordering and help at good was delivered. It took awhile for us to pay the server as it started to get busy. They were able to accommodate our party of 6 and food came out as quickly as possible. Good wine and beer list for a small family owned restaurant in the neighborhood. The baked rigatoni could use a little more sauce. It was a little dry and I like to have a lot of pasta sauce on my pasta. The flavor was good with the sausage. Portion size was good for the price. The gelato was refreshing and the kids enjoyed it to the last bite with very little sharing.

I absolutely love this place. Yoi walk in and smell the aromas of cheese and meats cooking on thier pizzas. The gellato is to die for and you see it as soon as you walk in. We had the chocolates and coconut gellato and thier mixed berry gellato. Absolutely amazing. The place is small and very busy but we were able to get a table. We had their bread stick and spinach artichoke dip. The dip was loaded with cheese that I'm still trying to digest but it was well worth it. The service was great considering how busy they were. Wait time is sometimes long and when you walk in there is a chaulk board you need to add yourself to so you can get a table. I normally just go for gellato but we were pleases with what we has to eat and everything is very filling. They have a small parking lot and also lots of street parking

Street parking available on hip and trendy Washington Ave! They also have a decently priced valet for diners not looking to search nearby for parking! The interior is moody and hip with dim lighting, exposed brick, and a social energy. It's always busy without feeling stuffy or crowded. The service is top notch...fresh silverware and plates with every course, consistently filled water, servers that are around but not overbearing, and courses that come out with exquisite timing! We enjoyed an appetizer, a few bruschettas, and a few pastas on our most recent visit. Arancini were the perfect start: crispy, creamy, and a little spice from the sauce! Chicken Liver Mousse Bruschetta was the weak point in the meal as it just seemed to be lacking a component that balanced the richness of the mousse. The Crispy Pork Shoulder and Carrot Bruschetta was VERY salty, but I kinda enjoyed how it would make my mouth water, quenched by the creamy carrot puree. The Gnocchi are little pillows of heaven, and the orange sauce is such a pleasant surprise. The real star for me was the Mushroom Agnolotti: little pillows of creamy, mushroomy goodness topped with a plethora of additional mushrooms. Chef's kiss. Can't wait to come back again and again!

Parking is quite limited but due to eating later in the evening, we were able to get a parking spot in their lot. Broaders' has both patio and indoor seating. Being the middle of winter, we sat inside. It's not an overly large restaurant so be prepared to wait during busier meal times (like dinner on the weekends). Our waitress was very nice, answered our questions, and helped us select the perfect wine. Shortly after ordering our wine, they brought out a complimentary bread basket which was delicious! We asked for butter and more of the foccaccia because it was SO good. For our mains, we got the Greek Salad, Ravioli Di Zucca, and Spaghetti Con Polpette. WOW! I don't have a single complaint. The greek salad was flavorful with all the mixed vegetables and dressed perfectly. The Ravioli Di Zucca was buttery and delicious and the Spaghetti Con Polpette was probably the best spaghetti and meatballs we've ever had. Somehow we had room for dessert and opted for the Tiramisu. It was good, not great. I didn't love that it was cut in the shape of a pie vs. a square -- Something about that threw me off. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend going to Broaders' Pasta Bar! Travail purchased this restaurant and reopened last year. Here are my ratings of each item that our group ordered. Cocktails: Seasonal Spritz - 8.5 - so beautifully sharp and carbonated, reminded me a little of sangria Vilo - 6.8 - very unique flavor cocktail. I'm not a grapefruit lover and found this to be little bitter. They were out of the Mule's Mistress which is the cocktail I wanted to try. Food: Bread - 8.8/10 - Butter was very good and creamy, pretty standard bread but super fresh and I kept coming back for more. Roman Meatballs - 9.3-10 - This was the best thing I ate all night. Perfectly cooked, amazing pomodoro sauce. We were talking about how if we came back we'd get spaghetti with these meatballs. Apple + Root Salad - 9.1/10 - Probably the surprise of the night. Everyone loved this salad and we ordered two. The lemon vinaigrette dressing, strips of apple were all so refreshing and great flavor. 720 Day Prosciutto Burrata - 7.7/10 - The burrata didn't have the typical soft, creamy texture I'm used to, but good flavor along with decent grilled bread. I'm not a prosciutto fan usually but the aging did make this better and less salty. Mostly rating on behalf of the burrata. Rigatoni - 8.0 - This tasted good with vodka sauce and sausage, however I found the noodle to be a little floppy and would have preferred more al dente. Came in expecting this to be my favorite. Calabrian Cauliflower - 7.0 - Pretty good, a little spicy, maybe overdone with the sauce. Heirloom Potatoes - 5.0 - This was the most unusual experience of the night. How could anything go wrong with a potato? Well, the "Nduja aioli" ruined the dish for me. Maybe some kind of spice that didn't agree with my palette but others didn't mind it so take that as you will. Again, could have used less suace. Mushroom Cappelletti - 8.5 - Another surprise of the night is that this was my favorite of the pastas we tried. Very creamy, white sauce. Mushrooms are not typically one of my go-to's but the whiskey age shoyu, creme fraiche really elevated this dish. Couldn't eat a whole plate because of how rich it was but high marks. Bucatini - 7.9 - Enjoyed the nice chewy texture of the pasta, otherwise solid, nothing particularly noteworthy. Service was good, very attentive to allergy considerations in our group. No complimentary dessert for birthday :P Good atmosphere, not too crowded or loud. Friendly staff all around. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pasta doesn't blow me away which I would think would be the star as an Italian restaurant. I'm using Bar La Grassa as the standard for pasta which is may be a high bar. I'd still recommend visiting!

But what are they going to do with the big copper pizza oven and all the other installations?

When my friend and I walked in, we came into a fairly spacious dimly lit space with loads of people inside. We were immediately informed that there would be over 1.5hr wait for a walk-in table. We were given the option to wait for bar seating as it would probably be quicker - and surely, it was. We did have to wait quite a bit, but it was a tolerable amount of time and definitely less than what it would have taken for an actual table. My friend and I decided to share 2 pizza pies as we wanted to get a taste of two different flavors, so we eventually settled on Korean BBQ & Perfect Pickle Pie. KOREAN BBQ As it was created by a Korean chef, it definitely had true authentic Korean flavors. As a Korean myself, I was very familiar with this soy vinaigrette and have tried this on many salad before - so, it was hitting home for me. Also, you can't go wrong with the bulgogi/beef short ribs known to all those who had Korean BBQ before. The combination of the sauces that they use for this pizza is definitely very rich, full of umami. I personally enjoyed it. PERFECT PICKLE PIE This pie was a totally different flavor to the Korean BBQ. It's less rich and maybe can be overpowered or considered more bland compared to other pizza flavors. But when tried together with the BBQ, it balances out the richness of the BBQ with the more subtle/less umami flavors. This pie gives more of a tangy/sour taste that pickles provide and more of a crunch due to the chips that are added on top. The dill is present, but not overpowering. It's a nice low-key kind of taste that people who like pickles will enjoy. Overall, the flavors were very rich in every pizza pie that we had that our mouths were bursting with flavor. It was definitely the most unique pizza toppings that I've had and can see why it's so highly regarded. I can tell that they really are meticulous with their every process and that their pizza guy by the wood fire oven is expertise in what he does. My friend and I walked out quite satisfied and I was honestly more full than I expected.
