The service at Fat Cat is stellar, the staff is fluently bi lingual and they are always ready to assist you. We order a full breakfast, a Southerns Biscuit special, coffee and orange juice; they took les than 5 minutes to have our plates ready and most important the flavour was there, delicious eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausages and cottage potatoes. Love that they're quick, although the sausage are so huge I feel like the middle doesn't cook especially with how fast they bring them to the table, nonetheless everything else food wise taste amazing. It was 20 minutes before closing and I asked if it was too late. The man behind counter said , "of course not! Come on in!" I ordered Pocho eggs! Flavorful with just a hint of spiciness. We have been to this place a few times in the past couple of years, the portions are huge and the service is great! Lately, we have noticed that the food quality has gone down. On our most recent visit, the potatoes were dry and had absolutely no flavor, the ham for the eggs Benedict was super thin (compared to the first times we visited), the sausage omelette was filled with 90% cheese, the pancake was super dry and we could still taste the flour (as if it was mixed properly), and the ketchup they gave us tasted sour, like it was expired. First off the service is amazing. I needed another drink pressed the button on the table I practically had my waiter there in seconds. I ordered the breakfast special and I would recommend separating the pancakes from the rest of the dishes. Makes it hard to dig into the pancakes first because you don't want syrup on everything. Pancakes were a little dry so butter and syrup will definitely be your friend. The decor is great and you have a nice view of the patio. All the waitstaff our really friendly and quite a few of them speak English. The pancakes are huge but I think I will try the French toast next go around. read more

I have never been more disappointed in the cinnamon roll that they rave about but I found it to be a lot of bread with is stingy amount of cinnamon. Then came the biscuits and gravy. Served lukewarm, not a biscuit, but a bun , the gravy was pathetic , zero sausage. They really touted these two items which is why we went there for Easter Sunday brunch. There food comes to you cold. We arrived at around 9am, a puny an hour after opening, and for food to come out cold was so disappointing.

Our first time to the Fat Cat was a huge success. Had been looking forward to going for months, mostly because I hadn't been able to find good biscuits and gravy in southern California. I was so happy to see they have a great recipe for their sausage gravy. My wife kept stealing from my plate. Everything else we had was delicious, especially the honey syrup. what can we say? we were so cautious when we first heard about this place not knowing what to expect, but finally decided to give it a try and drive south to taste it after seeing the facebook picture of "The Cat" a cinnamon roll french toast with roasted pecans!! (yup, heaven in your mouth) and we were not disappointed one bit, in fact 3 out of the 6 of us ordered the french toast and it was amazing. The even sell their own cinnamon roll so if you are in the area, go try those out! Portions are HUGE so do not be shy to share, and they have natural orange juice which is a huge plus for me. they seem to be always busy but we were seated after 15-20 min of arriving, just be prepared for a little bit of wait time. ambiance is cool, nothing too crazy, acoustics are not great but you can still hear each other. The food is amazing and the portions are hefty. We've made three meals easy out of our breakfast. The Louisiana was very decadent so we ate it in small portions. The Eggs Benedict was perfection. I'm not a fan of Country Hashbrowns but these are surprisingly delicious. My husband was eating and dancing in pure joy eating his blueberry crepes this morning. Still kinda feel guilty for putting my arteries through that but this DEFINITELY a cheat meal kinda place. The price for what you get is a great deal. We will be back. read more

This is a great breakfast spot (although we went for lunch.) The portions are big, even the kids portions are pretty big. The pancakes are hearty and the breakfast potatoes were delicious. My husband and I liked their coffee too (plus was they even had lactose free milk for my coffee.) The servers were friendly and spoke English effortlessly. Where to start...... Don't come here looking for frijoles and tortillas although they have one item on the menu called " Huevos Pochos". This is pretty much strictly American style breakfast and let me tell you they do it right. I had the Breakfast special and everything was absolutely delicious. The sausage links were the highlight of my meal. I also ordered my potatoes W/O any bell peppers and the waiter didn't blink an eye. Speaking of the staff the waiters all use some type of I-Pad to take your order and are very attentive. If you're a coffee drinker (I am not) my amigo that joined me is and his cup was attended to quite regularly. The biscuits and gravy were perfect. I'll warn you the portions are huge. Fresh squeezed OJ was great as well. I saw a group of at least 14 come in and they got the tables moved around and seated everyone right away. One of the owners dropped by our table to chat as well. I think this is a Husband Wife type ownership but not 100% sure on that. I am rarely compelled to write reviews but this place deserves accolades. Regardless of what you hear it can be very difficult to find a well prepared sit down meal in Baja. These folks are doing it right and I highly recommend it. read more
