This restaurant is definitely one of the best places I've visited in Rosarito, Mexico. They offer American cuisine with incredible flavor in every dish. Julio, our server, was amazing and made sure our entire experience was nothing short of a 10-star visit. The staff was also very accommodating and willing to customize dishes based on personal preferences, which made the experience even better. I've never had a bruschetta appetizer this delicious -- and that says a lot because I've dined at many great restaurants throughout California. We had our first meal at Susanna's today. The weather was brisk, and we ducked into an incredible piece of heaven where Susanna greeted us personally. We were instantly transported to a quaint, picturesque location that embodies everything California cuisine has to offer. The restaurant design is both comfortable and inviting. The food was delightfully fresh, prepared with love and respect for the "farm to table" legacy. We had the most exquisite combination of protein and pasta, then finished with the richest bread pudding; one could taste the wholesomeness of the spices and butter, as the ingredients have not been modified since 11th-century England. First off, i wouldn't even write this review if i didn't enjoy it so much, This place is a gem! It was just an accident to dine in here cause we were planning to eat somewhere else. It's kind of in a hidden small plaza right next to all the party bars around it. The decor almost had a living room touch to it which makes it feel comfy. We definitely enjoyed all the food we ordered from the appetizers all the way to dessert. I loved the jalapeños cheese cream so much that i got 5 more orders to take home with me. The service was excellent! The menu offered is written in english and Spanish which is great for tourists. The entire staff was all greeting us and warming and speaks fluent english which is nice to hear when you're in a foreign country. We also met the owner Susanna herself and we can tell that she takes great pride in her menu and the ingredients she uses and rightfully so. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone. I consider this place one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, and have come back here time after time again during vacations or visits to Rosarito Mexico. It's location is tucked off the main road in a peaceful, quiet alley lit by hanging warm lights. Everything on the menu is made from scratch with no premixed ingredients, and serving sizes are plentiful. They are known for their out-of-this-world tapenade spread, served with perfectly toasted bread to every table. All items on the menu can be modified which is rare south of the border, and the servers speak great English. On the evening of Thursday, July 17, we visited Susanna's for the first time on the recommendations of two friends. They have a great menu. We had the chicken fettuccine with blue cheese and the chicken kabobs and mashed potatoes. The service, food, and environment were excellent. If you need a place to take your date- This is it! This place is off the main street in Rosarito, tucked in the back behind a taco shop that looks like its also pretty good. Anyways, it is a little confusing walking towards it because the way they have the setup it includes what looks like several other places and a beautifully arranged stone garden. We were here at night so we didn't mingle much outside but it has a romantic vibe. There is a great selection of wines and some bar options too. They do have a children's menu but is only a few items in it. My daughter had the Penne pasta with cheddar and she loved it. I had the balsamic chicken and I loved it, I was so full I couldn't finish it all. Left some of the veggies on the side . The service was fast, the food was warm and the music was good. The first time I came to Rosarito we found this little gem in a hidden shopping/dining area. Although we did not go there during this visit I made sure to add it to my list. My husband and I made it a point to come here in September 2020 to have dinner. We sat on the patio and ended up meeting another couple from our area, which was great. The staff was wonderful and the ambiance relaxing and peaceful. However, the winner of this place was the food. Everything was so tasty and fresh. I definitely did not feel like I was heavy after eating my apps and meal here. I also have the margarita here, which was very refreshing. Susanna's is inside a little courtyard they have indoor and outdoor dining. By far the best margaritas I've ever had anywhere the mix is homemade and very fresh! Susanna's is an American-style food eatery in Rosarito. We visited off the advice of locals, and had an ok experience. Parking can be tough as it was limited outside, so make sure to factor that into your plan for the evening. If you live in Rosarito, and perhaps don't get american-style food very often, it's likely a treat. Coming from San Diego, I found it to be just ok for the price, and based off the reviews I must have come on an off night. We ordered the sweet/spicy pork ribs and the filet mignon. I found the ribs to be tough, and the flavor to be much more spicy than I imagined. Service was just ok, and I was jealous of all the reviews that talked about their wait staff being warm and welcoming. Perhaps we'll give it another go on a future trip. read more

I have had several people recommend Suzanne's and I final ate there last night with two friends. I will definitely be coming back! We all had different entrees and everyone of us loved what we got. We also ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine plus two additional glasses of wine. Our total was $98.00US and well worth it. The service was excellent and very friendly. We stopped here after reading a few reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. After a few days of tacos, rice and beans we needed a change. We got the empanadas as an appetizer. Yummy. I had the Baja chicken and my husband had the salmon. Both were tasty, but on par with a normal US restaurant (as were the prices) , nothing crazy fancy. The flan for dessert was excellent as well and a huge portion. But best of all was the service. Everyone was extremely friendly. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. read more

Hands Down Susanna's is the Best Place for dining in Downtown Rosarito. Susanna has a way with decor that is magical. I loved this place the min we walked in. The staff were so inviting & the ambiance was great. I felt like I was at an aunt's house. Their set up was awesome!!! They had two outdoor tables & a "sala" (living room'room) set up w/tables in them. My bf & I were slightly hungover & their michelada set us straight. It was extremely delicious & def left a print on my test buds. Haha. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We order their jalapeño Cream Cheese Empanadas as a starter & they were pretty tasty. The sauce it came with complimented them so well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Salmon fettuccine- Unfortunately it was way too oily and lemony for my taste. I LOVE citrus of any sort, in any kind of dish. But it was over powering, the menu said it was prepared w/Garlic Butter with Lime & White Wine but I was just expecting something less oily & even just a bit creamy. Maybe that was my mistake. Even if I was into that there was nothing special about. My bf ordered the Filet Mignon- Grilled Sonora Filet Mignon topped with Herb Butter & served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Grilled Asparagus. I cannot believe that I hadn't found this place before!! Where do I start?? The location... it is just off the main drag, but nicely tucked into its own little oasis. The space is filled with waterfall rock walls, awesome plants and flowers and a full outside patio. Our server Julio, was an absolute delight and made sure we were taken care of. We started off with the california bruschetta and crab cakes and then ordered the ensalada greco mediterrian, swordfish and the country pork ribs followed up with the flan de naranja and chocolate cake. It was an absolute feast!!! I loved the pork ribs... the sauce makes you want to lick the plate clean it is soooooo good!!! From start to finish, it was excecuted brilliantly... we almost needed to be rolled out of the restaurant. They use lean protein sources, fresh herbs and vegetables and fruits along with fat mainly from plants, seeds and nuts to develop their recipes... California style. I had searched for a good flan and decided to try theirs even though it was zested with orange. As Julio had stated, it was delicious!! If you are looking for amazing food that in my opinion is super reasonable for the quantity and quality, than this is it, you won't be disappointed!! A couple girlfriends and I went on a Thursday night, it was not busy, and I ordered the strawberry salmon that came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, and we also got the jumbo shrimps. The food was amazing. We decided to go back Saturday night since it was such a great experience. They were understaffed. l ordered the exact same dish, it took us almost 2 hours to get our food. Halfway through eating the salmon I knew that there was something wrong. Needless to say, I ended up with food poisoning. read more

Since we've been going for years, I've been able to try many different dishes. We used to come to Baja all the time before Covid but we have not been done in the last year. However, we decided to venture south from San Diego to the many places we love in Rosarito. But we had never been to this Gem of a place for a meal. Wow what we were missing all those many visits!
