    Broccoli chicken
    Erica L.

I loved everything. I got a matcha and garlic chicken and chicken broccoli and pork chow mein. What I really like about the matcha is that it's more earthy than sweet, I drink a lot of matcha. And it came in a to go cup already which is nice because I couldn't finish it before leaving. Fast and friendly service too with large portions of food. The chow mein chicken plate cost $11 and the broccoli chicken cost $13. And its cans of soda instead of fountain which I like more.

This is a new place we tried a few days ago. I wanted to try it because I have never had Duck before and they had roasted duck. This is a Cantonese style Chinese Food restaurant. Not sure what the difference is from regular Chinese food? Anyhow, the the roasted duck was good, but since I have never had duck before, I had nothing to compare it too. The sauce they served over it was excellent with a ton of flavor though. All of the rest of the food is your standard Chinese fare/dishes etc., except they roasted a couple different protein/meats here. One thing I will say, and found odd, is that they have combination plates, but if you want to substitute an item then it is no longer a combo, it becomes ala carte. It isn't like choosing from Panda Express. Something else of note. The water they use to prep things and cook in the Wok, tastes like unfiltered tap water and it translates to the food. If you are used to filtered water you can tell when water isn't being filtered. The rest of our food was just okay and nothing to write home about. There are better Chinese food options in Modesto. I was hoping this new place hit it out of the park. It wasn't awful on the standard dishes like chow mein, but the unfiltered water seemed to take away from the flavor.

My husband I decided to stop here after a long day and got food to go. I forgot to take pictures of his food. Upon entry we erected handed printed menus that had some items on the menu crossed out. Despite not having 3 items that menu had such a large variety. We were very pleased with our food portions even though our food was in to go containers. They really packed it. I loooooved the salt and chili pepper wings. They were crispy and delicious. My bbq combo plate was fantastic. When I was done with my food, you would've thought the container was already put through the dishwasher. No crumbs. I highly recommend to go check it out. We already discussed that we will be returning to try some other times on the menu. (:

Roast pork and duck fried rice combo set

The food here was very good. The roast pork was fresh off the kitchen. I had the orange chicken and fried rice to go.... Way better than Panda Express. The duck, bbq pork, and roast pork were all very good as well. The ladies working behind the scenes were very nice and easy to approach.

Food was good. I had ordered whole duck, scallion chicken and roasted pork belly and a combo plate. Everything was good but the duck was a tad gamey. Definitely will come back for lunch. The combo plate was definitely worth the price.

Great to now have something like this locally without having to drive far out of town perhaps to the bay area for roast porks, roast ducks, steam chicken, etc. My first visit here and nice to find plenty of parking spaces and friendly staffs. Clean and cozy new little place! The cost of roast pork and roast ducks are competitively affordable compared to the bay areas. However, I was a bit surprised to see that the price for Salted baked chicken or Scallion chicken (or similar kind of chicken) is at $17 (half chicken) or $32 (whole chicken). Guess, I may need to still drive to the bay areas for this because (for a few dollars more) at $23.99 for bay areas, I can get the WHOLE chicken, as opposed to half the chicken here.

5 stars to even the playing field for the unfair 1 star reviews. I would be upset too but 1 star is a little harsh for a place that just opened up. Should they have been more prepared and answered the phones, sure. Idk why they closed early during those early visits; however, the main items are a labor of love and is not easy to produce. Could they have been open and sold what they might have had, sure. But if they did that, it would have possibly been a review for running out of this or that. There are a lot of variables when opening a new spot so let's practice grace and give these guys a chance. We have to drive out of town for items like this, let's be understanding while they work out the kinks so we can have places like this within our own community. There's are a couple of local spots that sell duck: dynasty and Viet Express but nothing like this new restaurant. This was my first visit and I think a 3.5 for my overall experience is fair number for now. I ordered a whole roasted duck and an orange chicken combo with chow mein and fried rice to go. Rough rating for my carry out order: Duck 4.5 (sauce was on point) Fried rice 4 (actually had flavor!) Chow mein 3 (standard) Orange Chicken 2 (mild flavor and lacked crispness. I know it was take out however I only live about 7 mins away. I've had bomb Orange chicken that was delivered and remained crispy even when covered in sauce. Panda slapped on their Orange chicken unfortunately lol. With that said, I'll update when I dine in and see if that makes a difference) Go try it for your self and leave a fair rating for this new establishment. Give them time to figure things out and hopefully take our reviews into consideration. I'll be back to try some other items. There's a lot to chose from.

Came here feeling really excited to try after hearing about it. Finding the location was a little difficult. Address on Yelp took us into the shopping center but not the exact location. Called the restaurant and got the direction there! We came with a party of 6, the staff was nice enough to push two tables together to fit us. We each order our own entree, ranging from either 1 to 3 portion of meat with either rice or noodle (choices being roast duck, Char Sui, Soy sauce chicken, ginger chicken, or roasted pork). My kids got the chow mein and fried rice. Unfortunately, we were all quite disappointed with the quality and taste. The meat did not have much taste... the roast duck skin was also soft and somewhat soggy. The duck is suppose to be roasted.. it shouldn't be soft and soggy.. the char Sui was flavorless to me.. it had the color to it but no flavor. The soy sauce chicken barely had soy sauce taste.. the chicken was ok, it was the better one out of the other meat. The fried rice needed a little bit of flavor so we added the white pepper which really helped. The chow mein didn't have the wok taste to it.. curry fish ball wasn't bad.. could have cooked it a little longer to get the taste in the fish ball instead of just having the curry poured on top of it.. At the end of dinner, after getting the check and giving them my card to pay, it took them 15 mins to bring my card back with the receipt. I looked and noticed they charged me 20percent gratuity even though it was not on the check. This should have been transparent on my check... needless to say I am disappointed.

Sweet n sour chicken, Dumpling soup, Three meat plate with Chowmein.

We were sat immediately, ordered hot tea, was very good. Ordered the 3 meat plate, with chow main. Spareribs, Duck and sliced bbq pork. The whole plate came out quickly but cold. We asked the waitress if it's supposed to be cold, she said "no" She offered to reheat it. Microwave I'm sure. We also ordered Dumpling soup, and sweet n sour chicken. All of which came out piping hot! I must say, the flavor of everything was delicious. I would recommend the restaurant to upgrade their pineapple, in the sweet n sour chicken. We could tell it was low grade. Ribs, sliced pork and Duck were cooked well and tasted great. We will definitely be back. Worth a stop.

Thin to go box food for one? We paid over $40 for 2 dish

I think these days it's hard to find a meal deal for this price with this portion size. I had ordered the Orange Chicken. My meal came with a ton of fried rice (I opted for no chow mein) and plenty of meat. I actually didn't finish the rice and soup, I was pretty full by the end. The fried rice wasn't too bad, pretty standard. The soup a tad bland but it was OK. I wish the egg roll came out the same time as the rest of the food but I'm guessing they forgot it initially. Anyways it was piping hot when it came out with a nice crisp. As for the chicken itself, the sauce wasn't really spicy although it had the spicy symbol. And I wish it was more crunchy, it was mostly lacking in crunch with just a couple of pieces being decently crunchy. I had expected this would happen because I thought it came out way too quick. As for service, there were 2 people ahead of me in line I believe and after the woman working the counter finished up with them, I was promptly seated. She was always smiling and was very pleasant the whole time. As for the interior, there was plenty of seating and tables and it was clean enough. The positives: great price/portion size lunch deal, quick and pleasant service. The negatives: need better timing and crunchier orange chicken.

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.

I had the Bruce Li roll which had tempura shrimp topped with crab meat, salmon, tuna, spicy mayo and unagi sauce. I also 2 pieces of the Hamachi (yellowtail), miso soup, and spicy edamame. The fish was some of the freshest I've ever had - flavorful, definitely sushi grade, and I could tell that it also wasn't previously frozen due to the color and texture. We called in an order for pick up, when I got there 15 minutes later it was ready and waiting. The 2 combo plates probably weighed 4 lbs in the bag. I honestly have no idea but it was hefty. The gentleman who helped me was also very nice and prompt. Unfortunately, the food was pretty lackluster. My orange chicken was miles away from crispy and the sauce was kind of bland. Also the chicken itself had that gross old chicken flavor that usually only comes from reheated chicken. The chow mein was also pretty bland. They did give chili sauce and soy sauce with the order, and adding those 2 things in spades did help with the lack of flavor. The cheese puffs were also disappointing. There was a good amount of crab in them, which is unusual for cheese puffs, however, the wrapper was thick and not crispy at all, mostly chewy, so all the enjoyable texture you expect wasn't there. My spouse had a combo with fried rice, beef & broccoli, and fried prawns. He liked it well enough but agreed it was pretty mediocre. The fried rice was pretty good but the beef & broccoli left a lot to be desired. In spite of the so so food, it's such a great price that it may be worth it to you. If you need a lot of food for not a lot of money, and you don't have high quality standards, this place will definitely take care of you.
