Ok. I live in San Jose and I was in the process of getting a new phone. I was trying to get rid of my old phone but everybody in craiglist was lowballing the crap out of me when I posted my ad, so I decided to look somewhere else. It so happened that this place had an ad posted in craiglist that they buy used cellphones. Before I headed to the place, I emailed them asking if they could give me an estimate as to how much they would give me for my old phone. I'm not asking for much mind you. I got the phone for about 300$ 2 years ago. I was only trying to get about 40$ tops for it. They emailed me back, the reply was: "Just take the phone in and name your price". Now, if you received the same reply, you'd probably think the same way I did - that I would get it for the price I was hoping for. So, I drive 50 miles to this place, feeling good about getting rid of my old phone and getting a decent price off it, when I get to the place, tell them what I was there for and they tell me they can only give me 5-10$ for it, regardless of what phone it was. Naturally, I got so pissed off, showed them the email they replied me with and told them that it would have helped if they included that tiny detail about not buying the phone for over 10$ regardless of what phone it was before I made the trip to their place. I tried to argue but ultimately, I had to leave because these idiots won't buy it at the price I wanted. Anyway, such a horrible experience warrants 0 stars. What a joke. One of our technicians placed an order for 2 iPad flex cables for our repair business in Ohio. The website http://skystartrade.com had no issues accepting our payment via PayPal, but then sent us an email indicating that they would not be sending us our product until we provided them our Reseller License, or our Repair License. We have been in business for 10 years now, 4 as an LLC, & have no such license as the state of Ohio does not require this. I called customer support to cancel the order, as we've purchased the cables elsewhere (cheaper, mind you), & the customer support rep would not provide me a ticket number or a confirmation number. Only that she was forwarding the 'request' to her manager. So it's legal to take money, refuse to ship product, & I can only request the refund? Glad this order was only $30, otherwise I'd be doing more than writing a yelp review. read more

Apparently this place sells phone equipment online AND does phone repair. I am not sure about the online sales, but I have been thrilled with the phone repair services. With two teenagers in the house who both have iPhones, we have had our share of screen crackage. This place has been great and for a reasonable price, $80 or less CASH, to replace the screen, we will continue to go back to this place for our repairs. read more

My daughter's Galaxy S4 looked as though it had been shot THEN ran over by a car. I mean it was really damaged. Had a water damaged iPhone 4S and, being stupid as I was, tried to charge and turn it on one day after leaving it drying in rice. Easy to say that it flashed on briefly before turning off again. I came to this shop because it was the closest to my house, and I was surprised at how cheerful and optimistic the man inside was despite telling me that it was a 50/50 chance that the phone would work. Needless to say the phone worked, although the regular speaker is busted. He only charged for the cleaning fee that I had already paid, since replacing it would cost more. I found these guys on cragistlist. My phone had recently corrupted itself and I needed someone to reflash the firmware. I responded to their ad and they said they would do it for "around $40". I wrote back telling them that I could pick up a used phone of the same model off of ebay for $40 and would they would do it for $20? They responded that they'd do it for $30 and I told them fine, I'd come in. When I finally reached the store (an ~1hr trip from Oakland via BART and bike), the guy at the counter said that it would cost $40. I explained that they had agreed to $30 in email and he asked me who I talked to. Fortunately I had my laptop with me and I pulled out the email exchange. The guy behind the counter denied knowing the person and said they didn't work here; the cost was $40. I asked him why this person would sign his email with their company name, address, and phone number if he didn't work for them? He said he didn't know, why didn't I call them to verify the person I was talking to in email was actually an employee? (I don't know, maybe because my phone was dead?). The cost was now $50. I left the shop and headed back to Oakland with nothing to show for my time other than a bad taste in my mouth. Avoid these guys, they're as shady as they come. read more

Skystartrade.com / gounlock.com claims their iPhone digitizers are OEM, but they are cheap knockoffs. They they refuse to refund your money, even though they lied. They send defective parts but refuse to send replacements when you return them even though they agreed to do so. Chris is the contact person, and he and his company have no concept of customer service. I don't know how they stay in business. They owe us hundreds of dollars. Never again. Take a look at their grade "F" report on the Better Business Bureau's website. read more

I operate a Cell Phone Repair Shop in Woodland CA and from time to time our regular vendors may not have a part that we need. On one such occasion we purchased the part from this incredibly unscrupulous company. They are known by several different names on eBay including Cellphone-Parts, SST-Parts, and SkyStarTrade. They sent us a defective part which we then attempted to return. They refused to make good on it so we opened a Case with eBay Seller Protection. They then tried to trick us in to closing the case by telling us they were shipping us a new part and gave us a tracking number. They also asked that we close the case immediately. I told them we would be happy to close the case once the new part arrived. They still insisted we close it and I refused. The package arrived and when we opened it, it was the defective part that we had shipped back to them in the first place. I immediately reported the issue to eBay which gave us an immediate refund and even paid to ship the item back to these very dishonest people. Immediately after that a Negative Review appeared on our Yelp Profile from a person claiming to have been our Customer. This person stated that we refused to fix their phone after our supposed bad repair caused it to quit working after 3 days. They further claimed that we buy "Cheap Parts on eBay" and their writing is that of an Asian person who does not speak English fluently. The reality is that our customers have no clue where we buy our parts and we keep record of the names of all of our customers AND provide a Lifetime Warranty on all of our work. I am not surprised that they have an F Rating with the BBB, Multiple Rip Off Reports, and Complaints all over the web. The fact that they would create a fake negative review on another Business just for the sake of retribution is unsettling...especially in light of the fact that it was retribution for making them be held accountable for their own dishonest dealings! I have left a message for Mr Chris Huang (The Owner) informing him that we were able to establish that it was someone at his company that posted the fake review by the IP address and informed him that he has 48 hrs to remove the fake review or we will be moving forward with Legal Action seeking punitive damages as well as damages for defamation. Also to be sought is an Injunction to prohibit them from selling on eBay where they complete about 2600 transactions per month. If anyone would be interested in joining our legal action and making it a class action suit please feel free to message me on here. Together we can prevent scam artists like this from victimizing honest, hard working, business owners such as ourselves by suing them into financial extinction. read more

Ok, so honestly anyone who is giving this guy a bad rating for the price he charges and the time it takes to do it is just evil, stupid, or mean. I dropped my iPhone 6 about 3 months ago (seriously I drop that thing every day) but the screen shattered even with a protector on it. I called around and everybody wanted to charge me over $150 and schedule an appointment. I called and the owner told me it would be $75 and it would take him 30 mins and to come on in. I was like this is too good to be true but nope, I dropped off my phone. Got some Thai food and then came back and it was done and working perfectly. He even gave me a case for $5 that has saved my phone the past few times I have dropped it recently. read more

This place and SStpart.com got the worst customer service ive seen sofar. First they sold me a galaxy s7 edge lcd thats generic as oem, the screen is generic it doesnt have no logo and even the back the flex cable is not same as oem. When i called them first i talked to a female name michelle she assured me that all there parts are oem, she told me i can pic up the screen from san bruno at this store at 3pm, i drove for 1 hour and a half got there when i picked up the screen it was in a bubble wrap normaly i check the partss to make sure everything is ok but the asian guy the owner told me straight this is oem noone can imitate this screen yet its to new, i took his word for it on my way back i got stuck for 1 hour on bay bridge when i got to my store i called my customer and told him i got the part and he can come and i can fix it, when he came to drop off the phone he asked me if he can see the screen when i opend the bubble wrap and the other plastic it was in the first thing i noticed the screen is unbranded and than i turned it around and noticed that its generic. All samsung oem lcd from s3 to s6 ive worked on has samsung written on the back on flex cabel, at this point the customer asked me for a refund and he left upset i had to calm him dowm by give hime a $25 store credit. The next day i call them and talk to a gentleman name allen he the judges for the inconvenience that I had to go through, he asks me if i want a replacement, or if i want to keep this one and get 20% refunded i told him no i paid cash the asian gentelman i picked it up from told me as longest its still unused and not glued yet i can return ut withing 45 days so i want to take it in and get my refund in cash, i explained him i cant keep driving 3 hours bacj and forth so i need to get this done today he said no problem he gave me a 4digit number with 2 letters told me to go back to the store give them the number and get my refund after wasting time gas bridge toll i got here and the asian guy says he cant refund me cuz he just middle man i call them first michelle picks up than i ask for a manager and she transfers me to ellen and than they try to put words in my mouth and tell me i have to leave the screen and they will test it and than give me my refund. Thats nit right thats wrong thats not how u treat and lie to a customer so i even offered them that i will drive to there testeing facility but they said no they cant do that. They allready lied to me that the lcd is oem, theh lied to me that i can go get my refund back and i will not leave lcd here next thing they will say i damaged it and cant get no refund beware of this place. The screen on my new LG G2 phone cracked and Sprint basically told us that it would be better to have it repaired by a third party because we waived the phone insurance. After calling around, the repair cost hovered around $220, with a 2 or 3 day turnaround. No bueno. The owner of this place, Rocky, fixed the screen in two hours for $170, cash only. It turns out that he actually repairs phones for some of the other repair places and then they put their own markup to his price which is why they charge up to $220. I highly recommend Rocky for any mobile phone or ipad repairs. read more

these people are thieves and running a scam here. they are affiliate with a group called skystartrade/gounlock.com, google search skystartrade and you will see all their negative experiences from all over. i brought a brand new phone here to change product code and install a different language pack. they promised me over email and over the phone that it will be done in a few hours. when i brought it in to the store, they told me to leave it overnight and it will be ready the next day early afternoon. call them in the afternoon and was told in the evening by 7 pm. went to the store at 7:30 pm and was told that the phone is not there and the tech brought it home with him and will not be back until next tuesday and if i wanted it back i have to drive down to san jose and pick it up. i start worrying and call the police, 3 cop cars came and one of them told me that these are recurring situations at this place. to make a long story short, i still have not receive the phone back and i am out of $650 and the only way i could get the phone or money back is to sue them in small claim court. Hi, I just have to say this is my second time around with this company. First time they repaired my son's broken pod screen. We were very happy with the results. Pod looked good as new and the price was unbeatable. I dropped off my Ipad2 yesterday with a broken screen and I have it back today looking and working great. Total price was $120. The only reason I didn't give these guys 5 stars is that I understand Yelp sometimes disgards top and bottom ratings. That said, my daughter dropped her friend's Blackberry Curve and cracked the screen. I was beside myself since the phone was new and when I called Verizon they said that no one gets cell phones repaired they just get a new phone. Since the price of a new phone without a service plan was close to $400. I decided to look up cell phone repairs on Craigslist and found these guys. I brought it in on Tuesday afternoon and was able to pick it up on Tuesday evening and it was perfect. At a cost of $50 instead of $400 for a new phone it was a big relief to me. The location is convenient - right off 101 and they are very nice. I had looked up the cost of a replacement screen online and they were 29.99 so I thought they did a great job for a great price. I'll definitely be back here for any phone repairs when I don't want to upgrade. read more

I can't believe I fell for their gimmick on yelp and on craigslist even though I read through other people's reviews. My samsung phone got wet and wanted to see if they can repair it. Before I brought it in, at least the keyboard lighting worked. Afterwards, they couldn't fix it and it was worse off than it was before. They keyboard lighting completely stopped working. It was a waste of my nonrefundable $40. They say they they have a "machine" to help dry the inside of my cellphone, but I bet it's a punch of BULL!. they probably bought something offline for cheaper and use some kind of emergency drying cell phone kit instead, which of course didn't work. I wish they could at least give me 50% back my money if they couldn't fix it. Really bad customer service when it comes to fixing phones. The guy interrupted my sentences and said "$40 fixed or not!". WTH?! If you just want to your iphone screen fix or unlocking your phone go there. Other than that, don't go there for anything else. They'll just end up probably breaking your stuff even more, and steal some of your pieces and pawn it to fix someone else's phone. read more
