Odometer on my 2001 Toyota Camry was having issues on high temp days that cause the odometer to not display and the speedometer to remain only at zero. It seems to be a common issue with older 1997-2001 Camrys and the solution was to replace with a new resistor (I tried replacing the VSS, transmission solenoids, spark packs/wires/plugs, new alternator and battery) per a video on YouTube. They did a great job with the soldering of the new resistor and I put the odometer/speedometer back together and into the car with no issues. Now to see if this resolves my Camry issues! So for a $600 laptop it would take $475 almost to fix it and there's only a 90 day warranty. Why don't I just go get a new laptop? Again, she didn't give up, just started running the checklist, and this Graybeard with 30 years in IT appreciates that. The shop itself is in the Capitol of Sketch, 24th and Mission, but like all "scary" neighborhoods in SF, it vibes a whole lot worse than it really is.
