Excellent breakfast. Had pancakes, not thick and cakey, eggs were scrambled properly and an egg white omelet with nice cubed veggies and ham. Coffee was very good also. This is a solid diner that sports a crispy grilled cheese sandwich, which can't be matched. The wait staff is excellent and attentive to refilling coffee. On the down side: although cooked until golden, the french fries are not homemade. (Sigh.) And the Fast Break doesn't serve milkshakes. (Sigh again.) Definitely worth the stop for a late lunch on the way home from Island Beach State Park. In terms of the fries, the owner just wrote to say that customers should try her coin fries! I recently visited seaside with a big group of friends and we found this place on our last day visiting. Absolutely fell in love with the extremely friendly atmosphere and the well priced and tasty food. It was made quick, with a smile, and tasted amazing. We will without a doubt be making this our diner of choice when we visit again. Hopefully Madison will be there to serve us again with upbeat and spunky attitude. Me and my husband eat here every Saturday morning. It's such a cool and classic atmosphere with excellent service. No 1 item on the menu is bad. My personal favorite is the Herman breakfast sandwich. Honestly love this place. The food is always delicious and the staff are attentive and friendly. The orange juice is real, no concentrated garbage. Favorite meal is the piggy jo breakfast sandwich, pork roll egg and cheese with home fries on top and a side of home fries as well. Being from Island Heights ourselves, We met Cindy several years ago when it was Tice's Fast Break - she was then working as a waitress. She was the most fun person on staff, but at the time the food and atmosphere was lacking zest. When she made the decision to buy it from the previous owner she inherited a mess. And shes made it now the BEST little breakfast spot with awesome write ups! She added her bright personality, funky flair, changed up the menu, added her perfectionism to the service and food, and expounded on the family vibe. Her family works there too and they ALL have the same attentiveness to meet your needs. They will keep this place going strong! On the weekends during breakfast rush you can't even get in the place. Great place to stop for a quick breakfast or lunch. The service is fast and the food is delicious. One down side is small bathrooms. The food is very filling. I 100% think its a good place to stop if your visiting the area or going to the beach. No matter what I completely recommend this. The servers are nice and its just a cute little diner. Have not been to Fast Break in over a year. All I can say is it does really keep getting better. The food came out piping hot -- which we all know does not happen all the time at breakfast spots. My husband had a perfectly cooked omelette, biscuits and gravy which he loved and he is very picky about his "gravy". I had a Cuban sandwich which was as close to authentic I have had in NJ after spending many years in Miami. The pickles were sliced paper thin so they did not overwhelm the flavors, sandwich was pressed and cheese hot and melted. Everything was delicious and the servers are all friendly and attentive. They also have a huge selection of hot sauces. We asked for Chulula and were brought out 3 flavors. read more

Hands down, Fast Break is my favorite breakfast place. I frequent the restaurant at minimum 3 times a week. The staff is friendly and attentive-- your coffee cup will never go dry! Their cooks are amazing, and you can count on your food always coming out impeccably. Their daily specials are incredible-- The Mei Mei is my personal favorite.
