We have had exceptional White Mochas, and Cappuccinos at Higher grounds, until recently. Something about the flavor of our drink was off, and reminded me of the flavor of (great value brand half and half), which is disgustingly gross, and cannot stand that stuff, as it makes me want to toss my cookies. The next time I ordered, I paid attention to the process, and sure enough, and to my unbelief, out came (great value brand half and half). I informed the barista, that I am not able to drink that, and I had to switch to something else, because I can't stomach that nasty half an half. I hope they discontinue this practice or I'll have to find another coffee place. To continue producing a quality product, you must use quality ingredients. To cut corners and use substandard ingredients, may save the owner a few bucks, but will cost them more in the long run, by losing customers.

However, when the food was brought out a few minutes later, the mood shifted. The staff member made a very condescending comment, saying, "We were calling your name for minutes and you weren't here. Are you sure you were here the whole time?" We politely told them we had been at the table the entire time, but the interaction left a sour taste in our mouths. I wasn't even upset about the wait, but being gaslit and accused of "disappearing" was uncalled for. Don't worry, we won't be back; the unwelcoming message was definitely received. I'm glad I glanced on the way out, and saw the other side was open. I waltzed up and asked for some thoughts on the menu, and made my choice. The barrista on hand was very helpful discussing the menu. You have your classics, but I like to see what different establishments specialize in. I had a customized Kitchen Witch as I'm not too into overly sweet drinks. It was very good! I rarely drink a hot coffee, 99.9% my coffee is iced (not blended). So they hooked it up just right. So much so that I forgot to take a picture of my drink. Like most speciality coffee, it's about $7-$8. Starbucks has now become the cheaper coffee joint (not hating, I get my cold brews from there).
