We typically get their burgers and fries but I switched mine up today to the chicken avocado sourdough sandwich. The sandwich was bomb but it was a bit soggy when husband picked it up and brought it home. The burger tastes the same as usual per my husband. The fries though were a definite miss!!!! Met up with a group of friends at this location for lunch. We all were seated at a long table, and like how there was enough room for everyone to sit comfortably. WHY I CAME HERE? I went through the drive-thru to pick up a quick lunch before heading home to So Cal. FOOD: Sourdough Chicken Avocado was oversauced. Sourdough bread was oily and whimpy. Just walked up to the counter and gave our orders. The young woman working the counter was very patient dealing with a couple of old timers eating there for the first time. I usually like Farmer Boys quite a bit. The biggest pain is that the food takes a while but usually it's worth the wait because everything is cooked fresh unlike fast food places. But that was not my experience here. The food still took a long time for a drive thru order but the fries came out cold and my burger also didn't taste super fresh. On top of that, the burger had WAY too much sauce to the point that I couldn't taste the meat. I've also tried their breakfast burrito and I usually love their breakfast burritos but this locations did not taste so good. I don't often go out of my way to leave a poor review because I generally aim to lift businesses up and not tear them down because as a business leader myself, I know how hard it is to run a successful business these days... unfortunately, I think Farmer Boys has a real opportunity to learn from this one. I have placed catering orders for breakfast burritos here often, both this location and others and have never had issues. Today, the shift lead told me "we can't do that today, but we can do it for you tomorrow." Although annoyed (it's literally only 9 burritos), I agreed to reschedule for the next day so they could have advanced notice. They took my order and we moved on. Later that day, I received a voicemail from the GM (Ambrosia), and called her back. She explained that I would have to physically come in that day to pay ahead (an inconvenience to say the least). When asked if the is was a new policy (considering I've never had to do so in the past) she said it's always been that way; even though it most certainly hasn't. I told her I would rather just cancel the order and give my business to someone else... to which she encouraged me to place the order through EZ Cater (at a premium). Lesson learned for Farmer Boys; in the ultra competitive food space, especially in Las Vegas, the answer is ALWAYS YES. That's how you thrive. That's how you win. Turning away my order today was not just turning away my $90 breakfast burrito order, it was turning away my future catering orders along with family visits; not because I'm petty, because other restaurants are more deserving of my money. My visit before this one was a total nightmare. the workers always seem so irritated by customers. They always give an attitude and bothered by special request. I do enjoy the fried zucchini so i keep coming back but I'll insert a pic of the sad order i was given in my last visit. the zucchini sticks were soft and soggy the burger had so much onion after i asked 3x no onion pls. This is the second time in the last few weeks we've been to this Farmer Boys location and the workers ignore you while your waiting to order and finally a person will come to the counter after about 10 minutes and acknowledge you. Today two of the employees behind the counter had a loud argument (yelling) we all could hear plus the fact it took way too long to get our lunch. This was the last time we'll be coming here. I frequent this location often. I tried the different foods in here mostly everything is not bad and cook fresh the order. The problem I have is every time I order an egg sandwich. There is a shell in the sandwich. I got to the point where I just asked them. Please make sure there's no shells and they laugh. I had to get gas at Costco and noticed there were cars in the drive thru here at Farmer Boys, so I came in. Apparently it's their 2nd day open. They already have everything together, the service at the counter was pleasant and the food came out quick, hot and delicious. It's fast food but everything is cooked fresh to order, I'm not sure how fast their drive thru is in comparison to inside but it looks fairly quick. Hubby just came in about to explode. He handed me the bag from Farmer Boys and said, "Enjoy this. It's the last time I go to that [expletive deleted] place. I waited 37 minutes for my order! The man next to me, waited 47 minutes for his order! He ordered his "to go" but it was brought out on a tray for him to eat in. On the way from the kitchen, the girl dropped it! That man waited 47 minutes for his order; they got it wrong; and then dropped it onto the floor! So the manager offered each of us a $5 off coupon for our next visit. I told her to keep it because there won't be a next visit." I had asked my husband to get me the "spicy fried chicken sandwich." That's what he ordered but the female counter person didn't know that sandwich. She asked the female working the drive-through window who told her "Fiery Fried Chicken Sandwich." Apparently, not everyone realizes that "spicy" and "fiery" are pretty much synonymous. This Cracker Jack Counter Person, according to my husband, didn't know how to open the cash register in order to take his money and give him change. The manager had to come out and do that task for her. Hubby had done the grocery shopping at Smith's and was in a very good mood when he headed to Farmer Boys. He called me from inside the restaurant to let me know that he'd probably be home in 20 minutes. He saw eight cars in the drive-thru lane, so he actually went inside. (He has mobility challenges, so he doesn't do that often.) When he got inside, he saw four customers ahead of him. He called to tell me that he'd be home in about 20 minutes, thinking he'd be 10 minutes inside the store and then 10 minutes to drive home. Instead, after placing his order, he waited for it for 37 minutes during which time he complained out loud and got madder and madder. He was so delightful when he got home to me. Thanks for that. After unloading groceries, Hubby left. His burger is sitting on the kitchen island. I have no idea if or when it'll get eaten. He doesn't like meat in his omelet (eggs) and they executed it very well and weren't hesitant to say yes to that request. We also ordered a kid's meal chicken strip and they made sure to check the chicken tenders if it was cooked well I appreciate that as a mom with a toddler. The store itself is well maintained by the staff, the dining hall is clean and no plates are left behind; they make sure the tables are free for the next person to use and especially the bathroom - it is clean and fresh looking, always! Not only once but twice at the St. Rose location. We will definitely not be going back. Although the girl who brought us our food, was sympathetic to our wait, it doesn't take away from the fact that there was absolutely no reason why we waited almost 30 minutes for our food when there were very few people in the store and in the drive through. There were a few different groups that came in after us and actually waited even longer for their food and two of those groups actually were given wrongs meals. Suffice to say absolutely no one was happy in that store today. Not only did this happened to us today but has happened another time while waiting in the drive through. We actually waited 30 minutes at the window for our food and were ignored anytime we tried to get the attention of any worker that walked by. My husband even knocked on the window to get people to look at us but they acted like we weren't even there, didn't even look in our direction, had we not already paid $40 for our meals, we would have driven away. When I called to complain about the wait, the employee who answered assured me that the manager would be helping deal with my complaint but it took almost 10 minutes for the manager to actually pick up the phone and when she did, shewas very nonchalant about what I was calling about, like it didn't matter to her.
