    Beer and a shot
    Laura G.

Finding a real bar in Little Tokyo isn't easy, but Far Bar hits the mark. We wanted a spot for a snack and a cocktail, and this was perfect. We went with the Beer and Shot -- dealer's choice -- and it was a great pick. The sushi roll was solid, exactly what we needed to round out the drinks. Cozy, no-frills, and exactly the kind of spot Little Tokyo needed.

Stopped by for my lunch after attending an event nearby. A little confusing when it's called Far Bar, but the marquee still says Far East from the previous establishment. Why not Far East Sports Bar? Loved the food when this bar catered to the Little Tokyo Historical Society anniversary lunch on Sun, 3/8. Today I had the Misoyaki salmon salad with beautiful watermelon radish, tender salmon and a nice salad. It was delicious! I had a nice bottle of water all to myself. Good service when I was was there. I think they need an extra person. When I arrived at the restaurant, I saw the "wait to be seated" sign and waited. I waited a few minutes before someone came up. Nice ambience that will grow louder in noise, clamoring and cheers. Friendly service, but I can see more help is needed. My friend and I will return on Sat, 5/9, about 4:45pm after a show and will be in the patio. Cash discount on the bill if paid in cash. Free saki shots when Shohei homers.

I come here often for games and for their great prices during happy hour! It's from 3-7pm and they have great options on the choices, you're saving a couple bucks but still decent prices. I usually get the far bar special cheeseburger and my husband and I split it cause it's a big burger. We'll also order extra fries or tots. Today's burger was a little disappointing, I didn't even let it sit for long and the bottom bun was extremely soggy, to the point where I couldn't eat it. (Refer to photo). The fries and regular straight fries and the tots come with pork and other toppings that taste delicious (minus the wasabi mayo- just not a fan of wasabi) Service is always great and the bar is a fun atmosphere- especially during dodger games.

This lemon yuzu blueberry drink I believe was really good. It tasted very fresh. I will return just for this drink. Its not even alcoholic. Its on the non alcoholic side. I did pair it with some sake. Which they have a nice list. I got the wings so yummy. Good bar food and good happy hour prices. The ramen is also really good. Will return.

Visited twice during my recent visit to DTLA/Little Tokyo and if I were a local, I'd come here to watch all the Dodger games! The prices for food were fair! Beer was on the pricier side as their next door neighbor offered the same draft Sapporo, but $2.50 cheaper. We enjoyed and loved the Wagyu hotdog, the wasabi fries, matcha ice cream, and sushi roll! Great ambience and our server on our first visit was outstanding. On our second visit, service was lacking that same attentive detail, we think it was due to the different staff personalities. Overall still a great value and good experience if you are looking for a quick bite and escape the LA heat.

The food was great, the space was immaculate, but the service was horrible. I'm not sure if this is a restaurant where a server takes care of you or it's just a bar where I shouldn't have expected to be checked on. Weird.

First Friday night when Far Bar was not packed with people. I couldn't be happier about that because I have had to walk away in search of alternate space to spend my money. We invited an out of town friend to meet us for dinner and drinks. We were seated fairly quickly. We were lead to the outdoor dining/seating space on a rather chilly night but were seated right at the lovely, huge heating lamp. Dark space, low light, chill vibes..perfect atmosphere for our friend reunion. We truly enjoyed our drinks and food. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would recommend for date night, games, and group gatherings. What we ordered: - Whiskey flight: 3 types of whiskey (can't go wrong with whiskey) - Spicy Edamame (complimentary levels of spicy and garlic) - Maneki Tots (lots of flavor and didn't get soggy) - Far Bar Burger (not pictured but the gouda, bacon, and sriracha mayo combo was delish) and the star of the show for me: - Garlic Shrimp Pasta (garlic buttery, lemony, creamy goodness with chili flakes and notes of ginger possibly. Consuming this dish made me happy and I would order this each and every time)***** five stars Parking: very rare to find street parking. parking structure across the street. I usually park at Starbucks a block away. It's a flat fee of $10 which works for me since I usually walk and hang at several Little Tokyo locations and wouldn't want to move the car to pay for multiple parking spots.

Was wondering in town and found this nice chill spot. Service was great. Overall the food was okay, nothing special. We tried out their pork ramen but it only had a few noodles. What I do recommend is their bbq ghost pepper wings. They have a lil kick to them but super great.

4.5/5 - rounded up to 5 :) been here twice so far and the servers are always nice and accommodating. My favorites so far are the Maneki Tots and Pastrami Sandwich. Happy hour deals are good too - I can definitely get full here without breaking the bank. Love the decor and vibes too, perfect spot for hanging with friends! Only gripe right now is the "Burger Special" on the happy hour menu - my friend was charged $5 extra for the beer option , but nowhere on the menu did it mention an extra cost. I think the wording should be changed to clarify this!

Sports bar-esque with a youthful clientele during happy hour. Decent bar food with delicious Asian options. We had a show to catch at East West Players down the street so we only had time for a few quick appetizers and they were all good. Wings, edamame and sushi rolls for the 5 of us. Service was a bit slow but we were still able to make the show.

Been here a couple times now, it's pretty solid and has outdoor seating in the back which is a vibe. Recently went and had the Jade Empire cocktail and it was good! I've had food in the past here and it was solid as well. Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews because it's a go-to for our work happy hours!

I've been going to them more and more, and The Lucky Tiki was one I definitely had to try out. First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? A group of my friends and I have come here three different times, really wanting to like this place because the atmosphere is beautiful and lively. Unfortunately, each visit has been consistently disappointing due to the same bartender--a shorter male with visible tattoos and facial hair, who seems to regularly work one side of the bar. On all three occasions, we experienced being ignored while trying to order, even as other guests who arrived after us were served first. The first time, we were eventually told "you guys can wait" in a rude tone of voice while he continued taking other orders. The second time, we were never helped at all and had to move to another part of the bar, where a female bartender provided much better service. The third visit was the most concerning. When we tried to get his attention, he responded in a dismissive and rude tone, and as he walked away, we overheard him make an inappropriate comment about us under his breath calling us out of our name and we felt very disrespected so much so that we just left. We completely understand that weekends can get busy, but consistently dismissive and disrespectful service--especially across multiple visits--is not acceptable and we've also seen him be rude to other guests as well. Aside from this issue, the venue itself is great, which is why we gave it multiple chances. I really hope management can address this, as it impacts the overall appearance and experience of the establishment. Thank you.

On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it
