Unfortunately, over the past few months, the customer service has declined significantly. I've repeatedly been made to feel uncomfortable by my nail technician for politely speaking up about my preferences. If I have an appointment with her after 4 PM and ask for any type of nail art, I feel like I'm being glared at and talked about by staff, or my designs end up rushed because they're trying to get me out the door before closing. I've attached photos of what I requested compared to what I received at my appointment today. I paid $68 before tip. During the appointment, I simply asked if the lines could be adjusted to be more symmetrical. My nail technician responded, "Next time, go to anyone else. I'm not doing your nails again." If the design was outside of her comfort level, I would have much preferred that she tell me upfront so I could choose a different design or another technician. Instead, I politely agreed and went to pay. She initially told me there would be an $8 partial design fee, but when I got to the register, she changed it to $15. When I politely asked about the difference, she raised her voice at me in front of other customers and accused me of not wanting to pay. As someone who has been coming here every three weeks for years, pays my bill without complaint, and consistently tips $10-20, I found that incredibly disrespectful and embarrassing. I do want to acknowledge that the manager was kind and offered to redo my nails as a solid color, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the interaction with my technician completely overshadowed that gesture. I've never left a nail salon in tears because of how I was treated. After being a loyal customer for years and driving 45 minutes for every appointment, this experience was enough for me to decide I won't be returning.

Once, after receiving a bad gel manicure at another salon, my nail tech at Vonderful (I wish I could remember her name because she deserves so much credit) told me that she didn't feel comfortable with giving me another gel manicure because my nails needed time to heal. She suggested a regular manicure. She didn't try to upsell me. Caring about the clients and the integrity of the nails is such a rare quality. So far my pedicure is great and I don't have any concerns at all. All staff is kind I have interacted with so far. I think if you have a bad experience and your nails don't come out absolutely perfect it is upsetting because nails aren't cheap anymore so I think complaints are valid. But I encourage you to have your own experience here and take a chance because you could get a bubble on your nail or an accidental knick on your nail from any nail spa. I don't see any outright red flags at all.

The day before my appointment, I received a text to confirm my appointment with a different artist. Mind you, the girl I chose is literally the only reason I booked there. So I went on the website and changed it to the artist I originally booked, since she was still available. Then, TEN MINUTES before my appointment, I get a text saying a third artist is ready to see me. I ended up just going with it because obviously I wasn't going to get seen by the artist I wanted (who wasn't even busy until a walk-in (!) showed up like 40 minutes after me). My artist was a total sweetheart, but the quality wasn't up to the standard I booked. Not only did the design lack dimension, but the undersides of the nails were a mess. This happens to me time and time again - I've yet to find a nail salon who honors the booking I made instead of swapping me to someone else because "they can do it too". Like I get that your newer artists need work too, but when someone books nail art, and rebooks with the same artist when you try to swap them, wouldn't you assume they have their heart set on one person? Business owners, stop doing this! I'm better off booking on Instagram directly with someone at this point.
