I have Jackie do my nails and they always get compliments. They're grown out a week here as my nails grow fast, but she's great at what she does as far as acrylic over my real nails, and then gel polish. I NEVER have had any gel polish chip with her. She's skilled with what she does and she's also faster than other salons I used to go to in the past. I've seen Jackie for about 15 years (when she used to own her own salon) now and will continue to get great results with her. Her pedicures are amazing as are her sister Kim's pedicures. This salon is nothing special. I would book my appointment on line, it would give me what my services would cost and every time I would have my nails done it would always cost me more. They would charge me extra to file my nails after a fill and cut down. That should come with the service. To change your nail shape I can understand but I always got the same shape. Lux nails is always trying to charge you more. I can't trust a nail salon that isn't honest with how they charge you. I have moved on. Quality of the work is average. I had been going here for a year and even with an appointment they have you wait. No one ever seems to be on time and the nail service takes extremely long for nothing special. They barely massage your feet or legs and take over an hour for a pedicure. Acrylics they take even longer and the employees who work there aren't even friendly. I constantly had to point out to them to ensure my nail shape was even and tell them what to fix on my nails. There are other salons in the area who do a better job and get you in and out efficiently. Don't waste your time and save your money. If I could leave zero stars I would. I have been frequenting this nail salon for around six months now. The ladies have always offered a quick and efficient service leaving me with exactly what I requested. Today however was a whole new experience. I had requested to receive a dip manicure with extensions. I told the lady this exact information when sitting down, even showing her a picture of what I was looking for. Around 25 minutes into the procedure I asked her if she was going to be putting the tips I requested on my nails. She started laughing and said "oh honey your nails are long I thought they were fine". Considering I'm paying a high cost for this service it is frustrating to have to tell the technician to do what I WANT not what she thinks is best. The rest of the service carried on fine until the final result. I understand that not every nail tech has the same abilities, however it should be communicated at the beginning of the service that it is not something they can do. Below I showed what I asked for versus what I went home with..... these nails cost for $76 and no one in there seemed to care how awful they looked. Lucky to say I was one of their original customers back in the day when it first opened. Eric would spoil me and do suchhh a good job on my acrylics. So, I requested the "Lux Pedicure", which allegedly is a massage experience with spa grade products and a meticulous lacquer application. What I got was a regular pedicure, with an added layer of lotion, tepid water, scalding towels, and a laquer application that required three tries to make it look any better than I could have done by myself at home. The technician didn't even shape my nails at all until I mentioned it to a second technician. This place really needs to rethink the name "Lux" until they have a staff that is invested in providing services in a proficient and professional manner. Next Morning Update : the laquer on all my toes has bubbled, and my heels are so roughed up from the haphazard filing/buffing that I actually snagged a thread on my socks, and will likely have to lose a pair of socks to this whole fiasco. Had to wait a few minutes for a pedicure today, a Friday early afternoon in July. Busy, excellent service when finally taken back to a pedicure chair. So here's where it grinds my gears: I feel rushed today more than normal and that's why I'm writing this review. I understand it's super busy, but I wouldn't rush the pedicure service. I'm already finished and the lady next to me, who got here before me, is still receiving her pedicure. The guy doing my pedicure went onto the next client while I'm still in the chair! And still the lady sitting next to me is getting her calves massaged. She hasn't even received the towel treatment before applying the polished. This is bull crap. I timed this service today too; 27 minutes from start to finish. Starting meaning my feet touching water til finished with polish. Unbelievable! I had a very enjoyable experience today at LUX nails with a Lux Pedicure ($45) for myself and a gel manicure ($28) for my female companion. The LUX pedicure had the usual foot cleaning, nail shaping, and callus scrubbing of a normal manicure as well as sugar scrub, moisturizing masque, and paraffin wax. After the scrub and masque your feet are encased with bags of liquid paraffin that are kept warm with steaming hot towels. The hot paraffin is really enjoyable if you have any kind of foot arthritis or stiffness. After the paraffin cools, it is peeled off and your feet are massaged with a rich musk scented lotion. Lux nails is very clean. The employees use latex gloves and fresh/disposable instruments for every service. They have wide range of OPI and CND colors for gel manicures. Highly recommended for the LUX pedicure. read more

I used to get gels done here regularly when I lived in the area, but switched to another salon for a couple reasons: 1. Some of the manicurists seemed to rush through and even skip steps in the process causing the gel to peel off within a couple days. The reason you pay more for gel is because it is supposed to last longer than traditional polish. 2. I am not entirely sure the tools are getting cleaned after each client. I've seen manicurists take tools out of a box under their station. I am sure they are cleaning them behind the scenes, but I couldn't be sure and it made me a little nervous. I personally prefer salons that take them out of the sealed package each time because I know they are clean. There are 2 or 3 really good manicurists here who have done a wonderful job on my nails. So it wasn't a completely negative experience every time. There are just a few things that could use improvement. read more
