I went here after being recommended by my sister in law. I'm normally not one to write a negative review and contemplated it for days, but looking at my nails it is obvious she did not care whether she did well or not and I'm annoyed. I still paid and even tipped her because I'm not one to complain but these are so terribly done and just keep getting worse, and I was leaving for vacation that day and had little time. I wanted to treat myself before leaving for my birthday and it ended up being a waste of time, money and ruined my mood. I've had them for five days and they're already lifting and catching my hair when I wash it. I am not rough on my nails. I have not done anything to cause this. She got the gel all over, the acrylic all over, they're bumpy and uneven, etc. There's absolutely no way she looked at them and thought they were acceptable. Not only do they look terrible, they're not what I asked for. I asked for short and thin. The shape is OKAY at best & the right length, but they're so thick that it looks like I took wads of gum and stuck them to my nails. I'm unhappy that I paid $45 for these plus a tip because I'm too nice to say anything, but that's my fault I suppose because I should have said right there that I wasn't paying for this. I feel ripped off and deceived, and I know she knows that these were not well done but knew I wouldn't say anything. I also went with a friend, and hers didn't look good either. The paint was way too thick and bubbly. I will never go here ever again seeing as we got two separate people that clearly didn't care if they did a nice job or not. While I was there, another woman came in and complained hers were also lifting and catching hers as well after less than a week! This made it obvious it isn't a one time thing. I won't be going back and I'd suggest going anywhere before here. There was also a cockroach next to my friends seat while getting a pedicure, so there's that too. Worst pedicure I have gotten. Had an appointment at 4:10 with my Mom & Husband. We sat down at 4:15 and all 3 of us were done by 4:35. Not only was it a 15-20 min pedicure, I asked my lady to get more on my cuticles and she pretty much ignored me. I then asked if she would rub a little more as I got oil slapped on and wiped back off my legs. There was NO massage or foot rub. When I moved to Phoenix I had to find a new nail salon for my pedicures and Fancy was it. For a while. It is clean, the prices are reasonable and everyone is very friendly. They always seemed to be busy so I got in the habit of calling for appointments. My favorite tech was Molly and I'd go in and see her every month. She did a fabulous job and was very personable. My toes always looked fabulous and the polish would last a good 4+ weeks. However, one day last spring I called and was told that Molly no longer worked there. They said she "went back home out of state" which I knew was a lie because Molly was born and raised in Mesa. Anyway...that ticked me off (not so much that she was no longer there but that they lied about it) so I've never gone back. It is a nice place and since they were always busy can only assume that the other technicians do as good of job as Molly. I'd recommend it if you want a decent pedicure at a clean salon. I have been to this salon many, many times and even drive from Indian School and the 51 area to get there- I used to work around the corner and always had great service. Until now- I went into the salon with my mother who was visiting from out of town to get a mani and pedi done on both of us. The experience in the salon was bad- we waited for nearly 25 minutes to get started, but the weird thing was that there were not many others waiting in line before us or seated in the chairs- they were just socializing and taking time between appointments.. odd. Once seated, they did a fair job on my toes and moved on to my gel manicure- all seemed to be good until now, not a week has gone by and 3 of my gels have popped off! this is not a normal thing for gels to do so quickly. My cuticles are also all jagged and are tearing up wear she buffed too close to my skin, now resulting in crappy looking fingers- I am pissed that my gels are already peeling off- she must have missed a step or something bc this has never happen to me before and I get gels regularly. VERY DISAPOINTED Also, very odd, but there are NO prices listed anywhere in the salon, they only have them printed on a flyer they hand out on request- after having our nails done both my mother and I, no one came up to us to tell us what we owed. We sat there waiting until finally getting up and walking to the register, no one met us there and we waited until someone came up and randomly assigned a price to our services, without knowing for sure what we had done. I asked for clarification on price and a man that worked there who was close by yelled in a rather loud voice" Do you have a problem with the price?!"... No, I don't have a problem with the price- I do however have a problem with poor quality service, rude staff, shady customer service and bad nails. I would not drive 25 minutes to come back to this salon, unless it was to have my gels fixed! $100 plus tip down the drain. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Fancy Nails. First of all I walked in about a 1/2 hour til close, but I was desperate and they were open on a Sunday, when my regular nail salon wasn't. So bonus there! They have a great big selection of polishes too. I got a gel manicure from one of the male nail technicians and he was wonderful. He did such a meticulous job!! I think this polish will stay on for three weeks. It's been nine days and I usually see the start of the polish wearing off/growing out and .... nothin'. I bet I go 16-17 days with this polish on. He also gave me some tips about my nails and how I should request that no drills be used to remove my gel polish at all as it burns and pits the nail bed... something I didn't pay much attention to as I thought I was going to a professional before who knew how to take care of nails. Salons that are in a hurry and treat customers like cattle tend to use those drills to get clients in and out fast. The salon was very clean and the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend! Great experience and spot on dollar wise... $25 for a gel mani. I'm going to try a pedicure this weekend. read more

I have been coming to Diana's nail salon since she opened this location. I have never had a bad experience! For my wedding, Diana had blocked off the back half of the salon for me, my mom & my bridal party. They really gave us the 5 star treatment! They accept appointments as well as walk ins, they rarely turn anyone away, even 30 minutes before they close. There are about 10 spa pedicure stations and 10 manicure stations as well. They use the "worry free" piping system so you don't have to question the cleanliness of the spa chairs. Another plus is there is no "nail salon smell" which tends to make me nauseous. I am also crazy about reading reviews online and overall, this place has good reviews so I gave it a shot. The shop was in good condition and I really liked that they took their tools out of a sanitized bag. Knowing your tools have been cleaned well is a big plus. I got a shellac manicure and the younger girl that did my manicure was nice and thorough, however, she put WAY too much polish on. My past shellac manicures have lasted 2-3 weeks but mine started to lift off my nails within 5 days. I am thinking I just got the wrong gal for the job but I think I am going to be sticking with Desert Nail Spa. $25 for a shellac manicure. read more

I love this place, I come here all the time. It's like an addiction for me to get my nails done. I love my specific nail stylist, but I refuse to give a name cause I don't want anyone getting booked up. I always get the gel nails and they last a really long time, I've even gone an entire month before needing to redo them before. This place is average run of the mill pedicure places nothing to make me switch from my regular place . I came here with a girlfriend because my usual place was closed for the holiday. We got there at 10am and it was fairly busy so they must have a good client base. The gentleman who greeted us was very friendly and got us seated right away. As for the two nail technicians they were not very friendly and did not provide us the whole package we paid for but I probably wouldn't go back, so not the end of the world. I think for what you get it's overpriced and the place needs to be kept more clean. They had a really cute little section of pedicure chairs for little ones which I thought was adorable!!!! Having just moved to Phoenix 3 weeks ago from Ohio, finding the local establishments that are really great has already been in a work in progress. I am happy to report, however, that after visiting Fancy Nails I have found my go-to nail salon already! I went to Fancy Nails based on the yelp reviews I saw, and it's close proximity to my home in desert ridge, and I am so happy I did! The prices are absolutely more than fair (25 dollars for a shellac manicure, 24 dollars for a pedicure), and the quality is spot on! Diana did my manicure and she was excellent. She has a great sense of humor too which made the experience all the better. I am not sure of the name of the gentleman who did my pedicure for me, but he was phenomenal as well! Let me start off with that I am a very picky person when it comes to services like nails and hair. I recently moved into a new place, and first thing on my to do list was to find a nail salon to go to. I always check out yelp when I'm in places I'm not familiar with the area. Fancy nails was 3 rd on the list, the first two had horrible review and Fancy nails have a 4 1/2 out of 5 starts, I checked all the comments and ratings they had 98% great reviews saying they have gone to them for years and how if they ever moved they would travel to them for their nail needs. To me being an extremely picky person that meant a lot to me, I thought I would give them a try what is the worst that could happen? Get a bad manicure wouldn't be the first. I didn't make an appointment and just walked in I was greeted like I was part of the "family" super friendly and attentive. I got Tony he sits up at the front where the reception desk is. He listened to what I wanted didn't care that I couldn't make up my mind on what color I wanted even helped me pick out what I had in a picture. He did an awesome manicure he actually CARES didn't rush the process at all. He did amazing with my gel manicure and than the next time I went there I went for a full set acrylics and that was done really well too!! None of them talk you into anything you don't really want and even if you think you want this done they will tell you what is best. I never experienced a nail salon that cared so much about their customers. Tony is super good at remembering names and faces. Little did I know he is the son of the owner. His mom is hilarious and another super nice person. I already told my friend to switch places and her first time as we walked out she said, " I love this place, this is why you come here" and now she won't go anywhere else either. Very disappointing, got a pedicure which included callous removal but feet still felt rough afterwards. Decided to also do a manicure and went for a dip for the first time. I felt like the cuticles were left looking messy but didn't say anything. Less than 24 hrs later I returned as one nail had cracked and another was smudged as I'd been encouraged to leave too early. Tony fixed the nails without charge but unfortunately did cut me causing bleeding, not a big deal but in the context of the story it's one more added thing. That was Friday, today is Monday and another nail has completely cracked away and in my opinion they all look pretty bad at this point. Almost $100 all in including tip, what a waste of time and money. Btw, I never treat myself and this was my first mani-pedi in almost 3 years. read more

I have never had a bad experience here! The staff is all very friendly and most speak great English so I don't feel awkward communicating. They have pedicure chairs for children that are really cute. My one gripe would be that I wish a pedicure for a child was cheaper. Their nails are tiny and they don't have to do much. They should give you more than a couple of dollars off. But all in all I am a repeat customer. When I brought my daughter for her birthday she was in heaven and they were SO sweet to her. This place is my first choice in the area! read more

So I hate to do this because I'm not usually one to write reviews but I feel the need to for my last visit here. I have been here 2 other times and usually my experience has been great, however this last time I am very frustrated and pretty disgusted. JOY did my sns manicure and regular pedicure. First of all let's just start by saying she was very cold. Not to mention when I picked a color she asked me " are you sure?" with a snicker. Then she proceeded- she was very rough . I remember thinking omg my finger doesn't bend that way. And then I started bleeding from the cuticle cutting. By the way I have absolutely no cuticle left at all.. it is very painful. When I told her I was hurting she literally rolled her eyes with out saying sorry and put something on my open cut to stop the bleeding without asking if it was ok. She never once apologized or even acknowledged anything. It was the most awful experience and I'm very confused as to why she even works there. I was not rude to her in any way and did not deserve this treatment at all. As she rung me out at the end she rudely asked me for a cash tip which I did not have so I put it in the credit card and she never thanked me or apologized for making me bleed. I will not return to this place and highly suggest if you go here to avoid getting your nails done by Joy. She is so rude and careless.
