I've been debating leaving this review for a few days, but I was very disappointed in this food.. The fries weren't bad, but very basic. This review is for the Philly, though. As soon as I entered, I thought I entered the wrong door. I was surprised this venue was categorized as a Breakfast & Brunch. The portion of the menu visible from the door does not mention any breakfast options, mainly burgers, sandwiches and wraps. When I walked up to the counter, I saw the breakfast options on menu to the left. The coffee was self-service similar to the setup at some car service centers. I ordered the #2 breakfast platter, or I thought I did. I did get the eggs, sausage patty, hash browns and toast. Rather than two sausage patties, I got two slices of toast. As for the positives, that sausage patty was very delicious. The same with the hash browns. Famous George's is a pretty cool Mom and Pop restaurant, in the area where they're really aren't many places to eat but a lot of businesses. there really isn't anything glamorous about it from the outside... Matter of fact it took coming to this area to work a few times before I realized it was a restaurant. They open early enough for breakfast, and stay open through the evening. But I have only ever been there for lunch. It is difficult to tell exactly what they specialize in, because they have food from different types of cuisine: American, tex-mex, even Mediterranean. I'm not complaining since I like them all... The last time I went for lunch I had a chicken quesadilla (to be honest I think the first time I went I did too), and fries. The food is relatively inexpensive, and definitely a lot of bang for your buck because they give you huge servings and the quality is pretty good. My quesadilla came with sour cream and salsa, and I got ranch for my fries. It was definitely a lot of food, but my quesadilla was really really good. Delicious pancakes and fast service. I had my own cup already for my early morning coffee and the owner was ok with me refilling my own cup (of course I paid for the coffee). Pancakes- 10 stars out of 10,I love when pancakes don't fall apart after adding syrup,the blueberries inside were so delicious and fresh. My wife and I stopped in for lunch at Famous Georges Cafe the other day and we were delightful pleased. I ordered the special of the day, a steak and cheese sub with french fries and my wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich. Both of our sandwiches were very good and more than ample for lunch or even dinner. Famous Georges has an extensive menu and we're going to have a great time exploring. The prices are decent compared to everywhere else but I won't order again from there. Steer clear of the chicken fried steak because I'm not sure what it is. It's either fake me or they marinate the crap out of it which makes it seem fake. The consistency is very odd for steak. It's also fairly salty. Had I not been starving I would have given it to my dog. The spread they have on their bread is not butter which I get with their lower prices but they should give you the option on the online order menu. I couldn't eat the bread. It's worth the stop if you are a local. The first thing I said was, "I have never been here. What's good?" The cashier / cook said, "Nothing!" After i ordered he called me immediately and told me that i need to try and find out where my money went because it didnt go to him. But he could tell me that orderhero has scammed off his website. I went in one Friday and their internet was down so they were unable to scan cards. I let him take my card number and information to process later. My order totaled $6.48. Days later I check my bank account online and I was charged $7.50. Now I know this is only $1.02, but it is my money that George didn't have the right to charge. I called and he acted like he didn't know how that could of happened. :/ it's three different numbers. I feel he charged a tip to my card not thinking I would notice. I didn't authorize it.
