Love love love that we finally tried this place! This mom and pop has plenty of space for a large party. The menu has Phillys, burgers, fried catfish, and wings. The woman at the counter was extremely helpful and patient with us as we ordered. We ended up with a 1/4 Philly, a cow town burger, a full catfish, 5 hot wings, and the fried pickles. I really liked the burger and Philly but they do lightly dress everything so we ended up adding a little bit more mayo at home. The hot wings were well made with a very vinegar based buffalo hot sauce while the fried pickles were absolutely delicious. They tasted like best maid pickles and I'm a sucker for those! The rand is made in house and was also very well made. The catfish was good but the breading was definitely on the saltier side, paired with tartar sauce it wasn't too bad. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. The ambiance in the restaurant was very cool and kind of had a sports bar feel. The actual food kind of left me wanting more. Prices were a bit higher than expected and the menu was genuinely massive, intimidating and confusing. Everything is custom, there are no preselected toppings for anything which I don't typically enjoy. As someone who has no real Philly cheesesteak experience I truly have no idea what should or shouldn't go on the sandwich. This might be a positive for some but not for me. I would prefer a pre selected list of ingredients on the sandwich so I can see what the restaurant is going for. The steak meat was okay, not a lot of seasoning. Our second time here and had to bump it up to five . Their customer service was stellar! The poor girl said she had call ins and was doing double duty at register and cooking. Still very friendly. I liked my Philly with tasty meat but not the bread. I wish the bread was less ... bready, not in density just in the taste of too much white bread but again the meat was good. I also had the catfish special and I really enjoyed the light semi spicy beading and seasoning but not the fries. The fries were soft and didn't satisfy on this cold day, a few minutes in air or traditional fryer would do them good. The lady at the counter was fabulous and overall the customers were too. There were several regulars that were chatty and as nice as could be making this a very enjoyable lunch overall. We decided to give them another try and I must say they have stepped it up. Food is served hot and fresh -- but not fast. If you're in a hurry, call ahead. We waited at least 20 minutes for our food and there were only 5 people in the restaurant when we ordered (counting us). She was finishing a to go order but that was a bit long. Sometimes you just have to give into the craving of a burger or Philly with some fried side option. In one of the older areas off of 820 on 377 sits the Burger and Philly shack. Easy to miss your turn in if you are in the grove of rolling with the traffic on 377. I've stuck with the 1/4 chicken Philly and have tried the fries and onion rings respectively between my two visits. When I had my husband came along on this second visit he got a bbq type burger. All of our on the cooked on the grill items taste delicious. Our side items good but about what we'd expect from a good hole in the wall. We plan on trying a few more side items with a sampler plate next time. Plus prices have seemed to stay reasonable! Based on our prices and prices I've overheard you can easily eat for a little over/under $10 per person here. The staff, I've had the same lady taking care of me both times, has always been friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. You order at the counter, get your drink at a soda machine & someone brings you out your food. Clear your table, just don't toss their baskets please!
