I haven't been to this location in a few years, but I thought it would be good little trip for me to take the family. Always a great burger at Griff's. Such a classic smell, love the hamburger meat smell on the grill, great fries, great drinks. Good desserts, still missing that lemon pie :( but apple will do. Not sure how I feel about this visit. Wanted a burger so came in and got a mushroom melt. The burger was OK, I asked for crispy fries. The fries were definitely not crispy. I ordered a burger, and what I got looked like it lost a fight with the grill and then was stepped on for good measure. The bun was soggy, the patty was flavorless, and the lettuce looked like it had seen better centuries. As for the service? Imagine being ghosted... by someone standing right in front of you. The staff seemed annoyed we even existed, and after waiting 25 minutes for food that should have taken five, I would've preferred they'd just forgotten about us entirely. Normally, I grab a burger at the drive thru here but last week I was so hungry that I dined inside. The lack of basic hygiene by food handlers was deeply disturbing. I saw a male staffer from the kitchen enter and leave the restroom with their apron on. Aprons should be removed in the kitchen, never worn into a restroom. Employees in aprons taking smoke breaks just outside entrances, as I got into my car I saw two employees, one in an apron, get out of a pickup and finish their cigarettes as they walked toward the front entrance. Aprons should always be removed in the kitchen before taking breaks outside, especially smoke breaks. I have always liked the food but it seems that employees haven't received even the most basic hygiene training for food handlers. I won't be going back to Griff's. read more

I feel griff's has fallen from grace. I took a chance when I surprisingly came across this location when traveling through Haltom City. I have only tried the E. Lancaster location. The food on my last visit was decent, but not what I remember in the early 2000. This location in my opinion is worst! The burger patty was super thin and breaking apart. The entire meal was handed to me in seconds and it was lukewarm. Usually griff's takes a couple of minutes to prepare your food when it's fresh. There was no seasoning on the burger patty and no salt on the fries. I don't think any location will ever live up to what it was in the past. The area surrounding the establishment was clean, customer service was excellent, but it doesn't make up for the food not being good. read more

Been coming to this location since 1988 when this same meal was $1.99 for the burger, fries and a drink. The portions or smaller and the price is 4X what they used to be. The strawberry Shortcake is tiny. Food is good but it's not the value it used to be, even with the high prices of today's food it used to be a bargain compared to others, not anymore. Business hours keep changing, a few Friday ago we were here and manager said closing time was 11pm, and today (Friday) she said 10pm. We overheard the manager tell the employees "let's close at 10-10:30". They closed off half of the seating area and even the restrooms, half of the place was dark. They use to be great at this location --but now they are as bad as the Lancaster Ave location!!! I drive about 10 miles round trip and I get home and my wife's fries AREN'T IN YHE BAG!!! When they called my number to get my order I noticed that my onion rings are in one of those cardboard boat-like bowls, BUT...ITS UPSIDE DOWN IN THE TOP OF THE BAG!!!! Excellent food, great service, and quiet environment. The meat is juicy and tasty. This is the second time trying it and it's a winner!

This could be so good. It has all the "ingredients" of a lovely experience. The employees so terribly want to leave. You can tell they're very unhappy here, which is always a management issue. If they aren't incentivized to go above and beyond, the average person won't. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and well put together. It's vintage in a cool way. The food itself is good! The bun MAY have been a little stale, but it was hard to tell. If they came up with a special sauce maybe (for instance) and change up management tactics, this place could smash and be extremely profitable. Haltom Theater constantly has tons of people at it that can walk here. The advertisement opportunities are obvious. Someone just needs to try. read more

You know what? I love this place! We started going here last week and went four times in a row. The food is unpretentious, and the burgers and hot links have that lovely snap crunch you'd get on a backyard grill. Their fries are good, too! Prices are bomb. You get a burger, fries, and a drink for only $5, not too shabby! The first time I came here, I went through the drive-thru. From my understanding, everything is made to order, so it took awhile. When I got my order, the fries were cold/soggy. However, the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger was hot/delicious. The hamburger patty was solid for only $5. It was really beefy/tender for such a cheap burger! They don't use cheese slices here for this specific burger. They grated the cheddar cheese and it was melted to perfection. The bacon had a nice crispy bite to it and everything paired well together w/the BBQ sauce. The fries remind me of McDonald's. I just wish it was more hot/fresh the first time around. I brought my wife here during my second visit and it was a little disappointing. The young lady that took our order was new so she messed it up. We ended up receiving a "Giant Griff Cheeseburger" when we actually just ordered a regular Griff cheeseburger. I knew something was off when the price was a little higher than I expected. In the end, we just took what we were given. The regular Griff cheeseburger was weak. Nothing special about it at all. If I do ever come back, I'll only be ordering the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Today I had a particularly great encounter with a woman named Teresa, she could not have been more helpful and welcoming! The staff made sure to tell me exactly what I was getting so there would be no surprises. They asked if I knew that's the little cheeseburger, which I said yes as I'm not a big eater. I had to complain the a shift manager on why they "don't have ice cream"ever but won't take it off the menu. She then said they have it and offered me one, blaming staffing as the issue..... We drove to Irving from Bedford JUST for Griff's! E had been brought here before as a return of favor for helping a friend move and he just had to bring me because he enjoyed it so much. The drive thru is pretty quick, and the value is excellent. I got a double with cheese, fries, and a huge drink for $7 and some change! The food was all fresh and warm, fries were just the right texture (crispy edges, soft middle), buns were toasted and cheese was melted juuuust right. No dining in so - We pulled into the parking lot across the street under a light so we could see, ate our delicious meal, moaned in food ecstasy, then went home to sleep off the "itis" haha!!
