Very clean and bright. The white chicken was a very odd cut - not a breast - more back meat and a wing. I've heard the tenders are very good. Maybe that's where the rest of the white chicken went? It was a bit overcooked, as well as the okra. Nothing worth a repeat visit. read more

Really nice place. Surprised we haven't gotten around to trying it for so long, but someone mentioned we should try it and it did not disappoint. One of the biggest selling points is the value: it's quite inexpensive compared to food of equal quality elsewhere. The food is all very straight-forward, nothing outstanding or unusual, just good food. We've tried the catfish, the chicken tenders and the chicken pieces and they were all very good. The only sides we've tried are the green beans and macaroni/cheese and mashed potatoes, each are just fine. The beans are very basic, just a tad of onions, but are good quality and not overcooked. The macaroni is particularly good; the noodles are not too soft from sitting in the warmer too long and continuing to cook (a mistake many places will make). Anyway, the dining area is basic, spacious, clean "enough". The TV has been a tiny bit on the loud side when we've come, but meh, at least it ain't on the news but some light gameshow channel, so that's considerate. The service is very friendly, and the food may take a tiny wait, but they appear to be maximizing freshness, so it's worth it. Anyway, we'll be coming here often. read more

Purchased chicken strips, mash and fried okra. Chicken strip had a long hair fried into it. I called and no one ever answered. Called the next day, no answer. Second time at a NRH restaurant with the same issue in last 3 months. Put your hair in a cap or hair net... disgusting! **Since we are forced to give a star; I consider one star a zero. So that makes my two stars actually one. Now; on with the review. *** We ordered from here yesterday for late lunch/early dinner. We had family over so we made a huge order. Chicken tenders, rolls, fried okra, fried shrimp and fried catfish. We tried the bulk of their menu. Nothing was better than just ok..in fact it ranged from the shittiest around to maybe mediocre. The chicken tenders. I'm gonna start with saying that if the dish(es) you serve are so specialized that you're including them in the title of your restaurant; then you had better BRING IT; even if that's the only thing you do right. They did not. Chicken tenders need a brine before frying. Most all chicken does. These were flavorless. Gravy was instant and tiny. I'm fine with instant gravy I just want enough of it. And it's definitely no consolation for bland unseasoned flavorless chicken. Not to mention it was tough!! And dry. I've never had chicken tenders that weren't tender. Wtf are you guys doing? Or not doing? Fried shrimp: I was on the fence about this being a frozen from a bag situation or something they did in house. The shrimp seemed decent enough quality; better than out of a bag but it had WAY TOO MUCH BATTER. GROSS !! You literally just ruined good shrimp by drenching it in wet concrete batter. The batter was like an inch thick its disgusting. Oh and it wasn't seasoned or flavorful either. Okra--same thing. Too much batter. Not any flavor. No salt or nothing. Borderline tasted like the grease needed to be changed and that funk you can detect on all the food you cook it in and it's my number one pet peeve for any restaurant. If i detect it at all I'm throwing the food away. This was almost to that point. Frozen from a bag. Not worth it. And fried okra can be a great side dish when it's done right. Which is rarely ever anymore. Catfish..a little bit better than the other items but then they pulled this stunt: No cocktail or tartar sauce. None . No hot sauce. No condiments or plastic flatware. No napkins .No lemon. No butter. No ketchup. NOTHING. COCKTAIL AND TARTAR SAUCES ARE NON NEGOTIABLE. YOU SERVE SEAFOOD, IT SHOULD BE WITH YOUR MEAL. PERIOD. END OF STORY. These people even made it a point to ASK us if we wanted cocktail and tartar sauce and we said yes, yes definitely. None. Why the F*@$ DO YOU BOTHER ASKING IF YOURE GOING TO BE CHEAP AND NOT GIVE IT?!?! SO STUPID. LISTEN: If all or most of your shit is from a bag in the freezer; go home. Seriously. Pack up shut down and go home. Cheap, gross food is something I don't tolerate. Especially for the prices. If I wanted a microwave dinner I'd go get some 3 or 4 dollar situation at target or Walmart. That's not why ppl go to restaurants even drive thru.. Babes is a stones throw at the end of the street; nows not the time to be playing games, Lisa. Went the other evening after work... We normally go to the one by Western Center and have never had issues. These kids that work in these fast food restaurants just don't give a crap.. Every time we have come to this Lisa's, and its only been a few times since they opened... something is wrong, something is left out of the bag... the fries are soggy and gross, they just dont listen when you order from the drive thru... nobody takes the time to make sure our order is right, they are always in such a hurry. Practically throwing your food out the window, the sodas are overflowing and spilling everywhere, the lids are NEVER on all the way... its just simple things they could fix but like I said the kids that work there just dont give a crap! I had been waiting to try them ever since they put up their sign months ago. Finally made it. They close at 11p but at 8p they were already putting chairs up on the tables indicating they didn't want you to eat in. The good- The chicken and shrimp were fresh made instead of sitting under heat lamps. The fried chicken had a good flavor. The fried shrimp was a corn meal coating unlike most places. The bad- The have no fountain in the dining room so no free refills. They charged me $.49 for water without telling me, not free like EVERY other restaurant in the area. The rolls are packaged store rolls instead of fresh made like Chicken Express. And $1.39 for a small soda. Conclusion- There was nobody else in the dining room but a steady stream of cars in the drive thru. Guess if you take it home and don't get drinks you might be happier with them. Note- The pricing between dark/mixed/white was very inconsistent between the number of pieces. All white is much more expensive than other places. Food is inconsistent and service is just as bad. They got my order wrong the last time I was there and argued with me about it, claiming they must have it correct because that's what the employee entered into the system as evidenced by what was shown on the receipt.
