We decided on shakes this evening. My wife ordered her favorite, strawberry, and I ordered a peaches and cream. We also ordered our food. I decided on the Bacon & Bleu burger with fries, of course. My wife decided on the appetizer trio with Boneless chicken Bites, Zucchini Fries, Crispy Fried Pickles. The restaurant wasn't too busy this evening, but busy enough to keep all the servers hopping. After a shot wait, Breanna brought our shakes. They came with the big shake glass plus the silver mixing attachment. There's going to be a lot of shake to enjoy. First taste, they were so rich and full of incredible flavors. So Yummy! Heck with shake, I really didn't need a burger. Too late now, food order's been turned in. OK, slow the slurping of the shake down or I won't be able to eat my burger. Food came, we groaned, how were we going to eat our entrees. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. Scooped up a seat at Red Robbin for a burger and Chips. You get a double burger (one normal sized patty the made intotwo just to call it a double), but this is truly more than enough given they add bbq sauce, crispy onion straws, and bacon. The service was awesome. Glass stayed full, checked on my table often. Burger was delicious, juicy, bun was super fresh. The house made chips are always lukewarm rather than hit out the fryer, so that was my last time ordering the chips. In the words of G Dubya Bush... "There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again." So this was my last night for last night eating out. Will cook tonight, and plan on making French toast for breakfast tomorrow. At the register, we were helped by Ms. Ysenie, who was an absolute sweetheart. She was polite, patient, and made us feel right at home. My daughter ordered the Classic Cheeseburger for $10.75 along with the Double Chocolate Brownie Shake for $7.75. I chose the Magic Shroom Burger with no lettuce for $10.95 and a Strawberry Shake for $6.95. Ms. Ysenie also suggested we order the shareable fries for $7.75 instead of individual fries, and that turned out to be a great recommendation. Our milkshakes were delivered by Ms. Phoebee, who, in my opinion, was the star of the show. She greeted us with a warm smile, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and never seemed to stop moving as she delivered food throughout the restaurant. Even though she stayed busy, she made every customer feel appreciated. The shareable fries arrived hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and were more than enough for both of us. The milkshakes were outstanding--rich and creamy without being overly sweet. The generous topping of whipped cream was the perfect finishing touch. Our burgers were equally impressive, cooked just right, well seasoned, and full of flavor. During our meal, Ms. Jenni, the General Manager, stopped by our table to welcome us and see how everything was. She was genuinely friendly, polite, and had a wonderful smile. After learning it was our first visit, she surprised us with a card for a free burger on our next visit, which was a thoughtful gesture and a great incentive to come back. Outstanding customer service can make a good meal even better, and that's exactly what we experienced. Ms. Phoebee alone is enough reason for me to return, and the kindness shown by Ms. Jenni made our first visit even more memorable. It was a grind. On the drive down, a buddy of mine texted me, "You've got to try Kincaid's when you get there." He used to swim at TCU, knew the area well, so I trusted him. First visit, I ordered the Cowboy Deluxe. Bacon, grilled jalapeños, pimento cheese. Took one bite and thought, yeah... this is it. As far as traditional burgers go, I'll say it straight: it's the best burger out there. No question. You can chase the fancy, over-the-top burgers around town, but Kincaid's doesn't need any of that. They just get it right. And honestly, during a pretty lonely stretch of life, that place became my spot. It helped me get through that first month without my family more than I expected.
