Ordered delivery from Uber Eats. Did not deliver to my address. Someone else had burgers but not us. Uber Eats says I'm responsible for cost after food is delivered. Apparently that means anywhere they want to drop it off even if it's not my house. Easy money for the driver I guess. No recourse through the company. I tried this place because the burger photos look yummy. It was a great burger, juicy, nice size, and fun messy. Everything a burger should be. You have to order sides separate as they don't come with the burgers. Onion rings were good but super greasy. They have some fun and eclectic decor with peoples faces. Even the salt and pepper was interesting. The pickle barrels are great.. with a variety of flavors. The ranch pickles are nice! I was there for the $5 happy hour. Will have to check out the patio next time. Staff was friendly. All together, the food was nice, but be prepared to pay $$$ for a burger, side, and drink. read more

I been here a few times now and it's just alright. It's near my apartment and job which is convenient. The staff is always super welcoming and I enjoy the free pickles you can munch on while waiting on your food. The fries are crispy, but the food is just average. Every burger I have tried there just didn't impress. I do like that they have a ton of different sauces which I believe are made in house. The ambiance is casual which is nice. An issue though is they don't have a trash can you have to leave the food to be taken away and this creates a lot of tables with mess if it gets busy preventing more people from being able to be seated. If you do go here I suggest the chicken tenders. They are better than the burgers for me. read more

What an incredible experience. We've been coming here for a couple years now and love it. I wish we had one in south Irving where I live. The burgers and service are consistently outstanding in spite of what the fussy pants one star people say. They are obviously just having a bad day. The watermelon tea is such a treat. Came here with my family for a quick/early dinner. Our order came out in timely manner. Made it super fun that order had us as "Billy Idol". The burgers were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The buns they use are soft but able to hold up well and not get soggy. And I really like that they had various flavored pickles available. Portion sizes were spot on. And the staff were friendly. Only slight downside was how loud it was. Made conversation a little difficult at times having to speak louder. But that's mainly because there were so many other people dining inside as well. I absolutely love this spot. There are times when I'm craving a burger but just can't imagine myself going through a fast food line and regretting it later. However, when the cravings get too strong and I'm ready to cave I always come here! These burgers are phenomenal and the variety of flavors and choices they have here make each visit unique. I would recommend the Gosh Jam It and the shake of the month. Also if you love pickles then your mouth will water the moment you see the huge barrels of pickles in the center of the restaurant. This was my first time to this location, also my first time trying the Gosh Jam It. This one seemed smaller than the Roanoke or Arlington locations, and their parking lot leaves much to be desired. However, it was clean and the people were friendly. I tried the Gosh Jam It. I am a sucker for goat cheese. The patty was cooked perfectly, they didn't skimp on the goat cheese, but the tomato bacon onion jam really killed it for me. It was super sweet and just tasted like tomato. I wasn't really getting any smokiness or savory from the bacon. Looking at it, I couldn't really see any bacon. It was just like adding candy on a burger and I had to scrape it off. We all got a variety of sides to share, the pickles, onion strings, and the fries. The fries seemed a bit old which was a bummer, the pickles good, but the onion strings rock. Love coming here for burgers and unlimited pickles. They've got basically a pickle bar with different varieties and you can eat an endless amount. Overall the food can be good, but it seems that each visit has something frustrating about the service. Today's visit was waiting 30 minutes for a milkshake and given attitude after being asked why it took that long. The previous visit was soggy fried pickles with a rather blah response. The order pick up area is chaotic, and some people really struggle with the pop culture name order numbers which further clogs up the area. There are positives that are worth pointing out. The burgers are usually pretty good and the place is overall kid friendly with some bigger tables for larger groups. It just feels like some service improvements would go a long way. read more

First time visiting and would come again. The service was nice and pleasant with the cashier. I ordered the "Big Tex", which was good and flavorful. Everything was fresh as it's prepared to order. Twisted Root Burgers was a very different burger place that I enjoyed visiting. What I wanted the most was the pickle bar. They have all kinds of pickles, and you can sample them. I like the sweet and salty pickle ( I believe that was the name), but it was so good. Oh, of course, I like my dill pickles. Another part is the celebrity name they give you when you finish with your order. One of our orders was King Kong...lol. Anyway, this place has a variety of different Hamburger meats, ostrich, and other extravagant meat. I also like the selection of dietary needs. I am gluten-free, and they cater to my allergy needs. Does any city do burgers better than Dallas? I think not! Just like the bbq, Its simply next level here. I've tried a variety of popular burger bars in town, but until now Twisted Root has never hit my radar(even though it's been featured on DDD). Clearly I've been missing out, because this might be the best I've had to date. First impression: Wow...can you say vibrant?! Signs, pictures, license plates, chalk boards...I mean there is a lot going on. Twisted Root has a few things that differentiates it from the pack, this being one. Yes most burgers bars serve beer, but these guys are also doing shakes/custards. And I don't mean your kids milk shakes. These are full blown adult indulgent drinks. Finally, and most unique of all, the game meats: Bison, venison, elk, ostrich, and even camel. Yes, you read that correctly.... I head straight for the Wagyu burger. If I'm going to go beef over the exotic stuff, at least make it fancy! Burgers are cooked medium well unless otherwise requested. The wagyu features dijon crusted texas wagyu beef with thyme caramelized onions, topped with gruyere cheese. It is absolutely glorious. Wagyu is known as the prized beef for a reason, it ain't like the rest! This cattle pretty much melts in your mouth. I'm not even a pickle guy, but somehow the addition of the sweet and spicy pickle(available in the barrows) not only added a contrasting texture, but it provided a beautiful balance of flavor. 5 out of 5 burger, easily. Another reason to love Twisted Root? It's sense of humor. A quick bathroom trip turns into an extended stay when you find yourself reading 2 dozen or so hilarious Chuck Norris jokes written on the walls. Did I mention how busy the walls and ceilings are in?! I'm pretty sure I spotted a flying super hero cutout on the ceiling. I was so distracted by all the entertaining decor, that I did something I have never done in 500+ reviews...I literally forgot to take a picture of my meal. Believe you me, it was a site to behold. We had the regular burger (basically burger with cheddar cheese, nothing spectacular), western burger, & cheesy fries. The portions were pretty good. I liked the pickle bar! How fun it is to get to pick from 6 different types of pickles! The burger meats themselves didn't have any flavor. The western burger was good because of the onion strings, bacon, & the cheese. I've had really great burgers and average burgers here and I mostly come for the sweet watermelon iced tea and fries. But today... it started with the lady taking my payment looking over the screen - I'm convinced to look at if I tipped. I am not tipping on service that may or may not happen... especially when the place rates a 3.
