Anyone that has ever done a move while in the service knows it is difficult and stressful, this company did not make it any easier. They were supposed to send someone out to survey our house which never happened. Upon arrival I walked through the house and specifically said what was going and what was to stay. I even went to the extent of writing down the stuff that stayed in multiple rooms. They packed things that they shouldn't have, failed to follow any guidance, and refused to unpack the items we needed. They were very rushed and were just throwing things in boxes. All they were worried about was their next job, even though my home was supposed to take a minimum of two days and they did it in 7 hours. The crew lead was on his phone 80% of the time. My spouse was separating from the military and we were set to move from Keyport, WA to Lubbock, TX. The military chose Family Movers for us. We had heard horror stories about military moves, items being broken, items not arriving on time, etc... So, we were very presently surprised with the quality of the move we received with Family Movers. Two gentleman came to our home and quickly and efficiently packed our entire home. They were polite and friendly, and even brought treats for our two pups and crossword type puzzle books for my spouse and I. (Which we actually used since our TV and internet were not accessible ). All of our belongings made it approx. 1,800 miles to Lubbock, in the winter, were placed in storage, and unpacked. Not one item was missing or broken. Not one. The movers and packers both arrived when they said they were going to as well. In a stressful time of moving and transition my spouse and I both felt this moving company was thorough and did exactly what you would want from a moving company! read more

These guys were great!! I had a quote done by Barbie who was very professional and timely. She told me that the guys would show up on Saturday morning between 8:30 and 10:30. I got a phone call around 10:10 saying they were on their way and they showed up at 10:30. I had been up and ready since 8 so I was a bit annoyed but oh well, no big deal really. I was only moving a one bedroom apartment. They gave a card and a chocolate bar too, which I thought was super cute. The movers themselves had a great attitude and I had a little drama with not having the right form of payment so they had to wait for me for about an hour at the new place but then had everything moved in by the time I got back. read more

Worst moving experience. We were assigned to this company. Of note one or two of the movers did at least try to handle our belongings with care. The remainder did not make any effort. They did not arrive two out of the 3 days they were supposed to. They were rude and unprofessional. They did not properly wrap or pack and our stuff arrived in pieces. Don't hire this company. They broke our TV. They did not label boxes correctly. Their customer service was terrible. Spend more money and hire someone who will do a better job. They broke our HDMI cable. Barbie doesn't work there anymore. read more

After packing all our possessions in a pod to be shipped and stored for 3 months, we finally have a date we can move in. We selected Family Movers to unload the pod the morning after it is scheduled to be dropped off. The window for the pod to be delivered comes and goes. I call and call and am guarenteed it will be delivered, but no pod shows up. Thank goodness for Laurie at Family Movers. We kept her in the loop with what was going on and she was able to reschedule our movers so they came at an appropriate time. Two men showed up ready and willing to work. They were so very careful and took great care of our new hard wood floors. Had the job done in no time, not to mention, Family Movers issued us a refund of time not used! It started with the online estimate of only $600. My wife negotiated the hours of labor with Barbie and she was insistent on seven hours and we knew it was going to be less than five hours, and refused to help us any further unless we paid for the seven hours, so because we were in a bind agreed. Without explaining it they locked us into a binding contract; meaning you are stuck paying for whatever audacious estimate they choose to make, for a grand total for $1100, almost doubled the estimate online. Barbie also said that she would have the movers help us pack and unpack, which they also did not. On the day of move, the movers showed up twenty minutes late. The movers they sent had no idea what they were suppose to do besides pick up our stuff, put it in our truck, and move it to the new address. We tried to contact Barbie to clear up the confusion and there was no answer. The actual movers were effiecient and took great care of our possessions during the actual move. Approximately four hours later they were done. I tried dispute the amount we paid and spoke to the General Manager. When I called her she stated that she would look into it and call me back the next day, which she did not. Following the weekend I called her again, and had zero explanation as to why Barbie thought it was going to cost as much as it did, but just kept repeating herself explain what a binding contract is. Will never even consider moving this company and will make sure to pass on my experience to everyone. read more

We coordinated with John over several days to help unload our POD when it arrived. They were very willing to come after regular business hours to accommodate the time that our POD arrived. However, when we called them when the POD finally arrived, they said they would be there at 4:30pm but it was 6:30pm when they arrived. We called them at 5 and they said they were running late because the traffic was bad and so they decided to "change their shirts"? We had mostly unloaded the POD by the time they got there so we just needed them to carry the heavy furniture up the stairs. They moved very quickly once they arrived. A little too quickly, because they scratched the walls in a couple places and even the ceiling! We had negotiated a price of $285 for 3 hours but because they were so late it only took 1.5 hours, yet they still charged us the $285 for 3 hours. They were definitely in a hurry to leave. I wanted them to put together some furniture and rearrange some furniture that they had already placed, but they seemed really ready to go so we just let them and moved stuff ourselves. They were really nice though. I'm giving them a 3 because they were fast and they were willing to come after hours and they were very nice and friendly. The only reason that I'm not giving them a 5 is because they were 2 hours later than they said they'd be there and because they scratched the wall in their haste and because they still charged us for 3 hours even though they were only there for 1.5 hours. I WOULD recommend them to a friend, just negotiate an hourly rate instead of a flat rate for a certain number of hours. And be flexible in your time frame. read more

May 30th 2014, I hired the family movers and paid for 4 hours. The crew was able to pack and deliver my furniture in 3 hours! I was informed by the crew member that I will be getting a refund for that hour not used. When I contacted this company I was denied a refund and informed that I did use the total four hours. I don't know where the lack of communication between the movers and the company occurred but I want consumers to know to be skeptical of a company that does not keep their words because I took their interaction in good faith and now I am out of money that is owed to me! I do not like businesses that nickel and dime people who trusted their services but I will say my interaction with Barbie was great, the accounting office is questionable! read more

Do not use this company if you value your belongings. Their people ruined some of my furniture and totally broke a piece of exercise equipment and they are not even paying a fair amount for damages. It had even taken them months to respond to my claim. Find a different company for your move. read more
