I've stopped in for everything from last-minute party supplies to cleaning products and random household basics, and most of the time I find exactly what I need. For the price point, the selection is actually pretty solid. You can grab snacks, storage bins, greeting cards, toiletries -- all without feeling like you just drained your wallet. Like most busy NYC locations, it can get a little crowded, especially during peak hours, but the staff keeps things moving. The cashiers work quickly, and even when the line looks long, it doesn't usually take forever. I've had a few interactions where employees were genuinely helpful when I couldn't find something, which I appreciated. The store layout is pretty straightforward, so once you've been there once or twice, you know exactly where to go. It's a practical neighborhood spot -- nothing flashy, just affordable essentials in a convenient location. If you live nearby in Crown Heights or Bed-Stuy and need basic items without spending a lot, this Dollar Tree is reliable. It's one of those places you're glad is in the neighborhood when you need it.

What I mean by that is, I remember and recognize from which section/aisle has the cheap beauty products, cute Squishmallow plushies, or even the tech stuff like laptop stands and usb-c phone cables. Has a decent selection of mostly everything in sight. Can see that staff is always working by tidying up the place and making sure everything is up and running. Nothing looks messy and you won't find items lying around on the floor unlike the one in Union Square. Service from staff is usually quick, helpful, and polite. Always accepts both cash and card for payment. They have $3 cute spa headbands and decent lippies from L.A. Girl + Wet & Wild like lipsticks and lipglosses for $3. A small decent-size LED mirror is like $5. Can never resist and usually end up buying a plushie or two especially the cute ones smh. I can totally stay and walk around at 5Below for hours. It's warm in there anyway lol. Out of Target + CVS + Walgreens, Five Below has the most affordable pricing ever for Squishmallow plushies at only $5 (plus 55¢ for tax). Can easily walk out from Five Below by already spending $20-30 since everything is just so affordable. It's kinda hard to leave without spending $1. So for me, Five Below has good value things despite it might be selling at lower price points.

I don't live in Brownsville, but occasionally I will shop under the El there on my way to the Rutland Rd/Sutter Avenue train station. On two occasions that I've been to this store, management will run offensive announcements over the PA. The first time it was, "Please don't steal." The second announcement was a rambling, whiny missive about how stealing isn't allowed. These announcements could've been about anybody, but it didn't matter. I felt profiled, because it was made just as I and a handful of other people entered the store. I would've walked out right then and there but if I had, that would've looked like I was one of the people the announcement had been aimed at. So, I bought my stuff and then vowed to never shop at this location again. It's always funny to me when corporate-owned chain stores open businesse in low income ethnic communities but then turn around and do something like this. There are an entire slew of mom and pop businesses on this street--including two bargain basements-- and never in the 30 years I've shopped at them did I ever feel they were being "besieged," to the extent of making overtly racist PA announcements or feeling profiled. They just have everyone do bag checks and go old school with the Wall of Shame. Maybe Dollar General should just close up shop if it can't handle the stress of doing business in this area and let the pros--the moms and pops--handle troublemakers with a lot more class and old school ingenuity.

There are signs as you enter that they are remodeling, and while this is true, there are areas that were not being remodeled that definitely needed some TLC, such as the entry area that looked like it hadn't been cleaned since before COVID. The store is multiple levels and probably the largest Marshall's I've ever been to, though the layout of the building makes navigating a bit tricky in some instances, such as the L-shaped men's area. Staff were nonexistent as we navigated the store and were barely present for checkout as well. We did find a couple things and took advantage of the no sales tax on clothing in New York, too!

My phone just did not have service! There are cashiers on both levels so you don't need to line up on the first level. They have a good amount of beauty and cosmetics in stock. Nice selection of kids' book bags and purses. Today I came here to check out the Halloween decor and they have a nice selection of Hello Kitties that dance and sing. There was also a 2 feet big Hello Kitty witch stuffed animal for $29.95! It's a good price for that size! I quickly bought it because it was so cute and big. They got a lot of Martha Stewart decor that is very pretty for any holidays. Lots of decor for sale. The clothing section especially with the dresses are mostly flimsy in my opinion. The laced ones are very thin and sheer. Not enough coverage. I love their 99 cents shopping tote bags! They have nice prints although some of them look weird. It's a repetitive patterned print. This time for 2025 Halloween, they got the ghost theme with cute ghosts everywhere.

They have a lot of good deals here especially the St. Ives apricot scrub that costs around $3 compared to your local pharmacy store where it's around $10! Disposable razors and Dove body wash are all affordable here. Prices are very low here. Also they got black legging tights that are very affordable. Lots of socks and bras that you can get for cheap prices. They also pack of 5 tapes and 48 pack of Kirkland batteries for $12.99, which is definitely way cheaper than Costco! Lots of seasonal products like Christmas ornaments and decor for cheap prices. Just the style to my opinion is very glittery and too flashy for my taste. I try to come here time to time to score good deals because their products are sometimes ever changing. Sometimes they gave the same products and other times they got new products on their shelves. You have to check it time to tune to make sure you score something good! I love their shopping tote bag too. They have the standard size and large size. Very sturdy bags and reusable.
