Unfortunately this is how the store looks all the time.

Dollar Tree stores in general are usually pretty good, right? Everything $1, things you need and plenty that you don't need. My favorite items include tissue paper, balloons, and paper plates. So why the low score for this Dollar Tree? Wellllll, this particular location is a hot-flippin-mess. Every single time I've gone into this store (whether its after work or early on the weekend) the store always in a state of chaos. There is stock everywhere...except the shelves. I mean there are boxes of products lining the aisles ... meanwhile the hooks and shelves are bare. And then IF you are even able to find what you want - the line to check out is ALWAYS at least 8 people long. At least! I passed by one night and there was one cashier and 15 people in line. Why is there always only one cashier? There are 4 registers... come on Dollar Tree! Hire more people!? The staff is ok. I've encountered a couple nice people, and another couple who just seemed burned out. I also need to note that the foil balloon 'department' is great... when they have balloons in stock and they have a full helium tank. There's at least 20 balloons to choose from - from birthday to congratulations to colorful star shaped balloons and of course they are $1 each. Note to shoppers purchasing balloons - pick your balloon first and then bring them to the cashier to purchase... once purchased they'll call another associate to blow them up for you.

The store is always a mess and there are some lazy, rude workers as well. Customer service is useless.

First of all I don't know who listed Discount Plus as a restaurant. The owner, Leo, did run a…read moreChinese restaurant at this location but that was before I moved into the neighborhood ten years ago! Leo, and his son Greg, along with a very helpful staff, own and operate a real 7 days a week neighborhood discount store that is a step above the 99 cent stores in quality but competitive with them in price. From $1 vitamin water to deals on cereal, pasta, health and beauty care products, greeting cards, school supplies, small appliances to toys, Discount Plus is the place just about everyone goes in the neighborhood. I think it is that small town touch of knowing their customers names that really makes the store special. So if you want to save money and need something for your house or apartment, definitely think Discount Plus!

The kitchen towels worth to be used and through into the garbage, since their prices are too low. What does it say about us as, I will leave that open at that point. They could be more helpful, but when someone is asking you twice about something that cost a dollar, I understand that sometime they prefer not to show where it is. After all, we need the discount stores.

They're just cheap…read more Whether it's hangers, picture frames or flip flops they're usually more affordable than k-mart or other "discount stores" around the city. Like another reviewer mentioned, they do sell a lot of overstock or out of season items from H&M which I also love. Downstairs looked like a really dingy Ross/TJ Maxx close out store from the suburbs (from the not-so-great parts of town) with EVERYTHING being $5.99. I saw a lot of k-mart, target type brands. Nothing extremely fashionable, but ok if you're looking for a few staple wardrobe items (I.e. shorts, t-shirts, children's clothing). The best deals were probably the coats/jackets which are a steal at $5.99, but very hard to want to shop for IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER. Bought a lot of wedding stuff here in the past like beautiful $2.50 frames and mesh slippers for guests which was a deal compared to other stores in manhattan. They also have random odds and ends such as curtain rods, kitchen and bath supplies and furniture. Overall, a no-fuss store that most people will find something they need (or make themselves believe they need).

I'd look here before the chains like Target. But it's hit or miss. No shorts in the summer, no…read moretennis shoes in their shoe department, and the only shirts I liked happened to be maternity clothes so not my size. But if you want cheap stuff here it is. And cheap bras too although no sports bras. So although this store is a gold mine for affordability, if you're looking for specific things not so much.
