This is the Five Below that I'm most familiar with compared to other locations in Manhattan, Queens or Brooklyn. I come by every so often. What I mean by that is, I remember and recognize from which section/aisle has the cheap beauty products, cute Squishmallow plushies, or even the tech stuff like laptop stands and usb-c phone cables. Has a decent selection of mostly everything in sight. Can see that staff is always working by tidying up the place and making sure everything is up and running. Nothing looks messy and you won't find items lying around on the floor unlike the one in Union Square. Service from staff is usually quick, helpful, and polite. Always accepts both cash and card for payment. They have $3 cute spa headbands and decent lippies from L.A. Girl + Wet & Wild like lipsticks and lipglosses for $3. A small decent-size LED mirror is like $5. Can never resist and usually end up buying a plushie or two especially the cute ones smh. I can totally stay and walk around at 5Below for hours. It's warm in there anyway lol. Out of Target + CVS + Walgreens, Five Below has the most affordable pricing ever for Squishmallow plushies at only $5 (plus 55¢ for tax). Can easily walk out from Five Below by already spending $20-30 since everything is just so affordable. It's kinda hard to leave without spending $1. So for me, Five Below has good value things despite it might be selling at lower price points. read more

Love this location , it has a bunch of cool NYC tourist items before entering the store by elevator or escalator. The store is well organized and always fully stocked . Yesss even in NYC I will stop at a 5 and above store. Did you know that the tees are now priced at $5.55. Dbl check prices cuz they sell things that can also go for $20. I love that in major cities they have a 5 and above with tees with the city, like Philly or NYC. Good customer service and checking out a breeze. Have visited this location in the past and as I walked by decided to check it out in hopes I'd find stocking stuffers. It was great to see so many gift ideas and loads of smaller gifts to stuff a stocking. It was nice to walk inside an empty store and really take a look at all the goodies. Found a lot of cute gifts for kids of all ages and for furry friends too. When in a bind you can check out this store and find an array of items, from household to personal hygiene too. read more

Who wouldn't enjoy discovering items priced at $5 or less? I certainly do. I've visited places that aren't particularly convenient, but the pleasant surprise was worth it. This hidden gem is nestled right in midtown. There was a good selection of items. To add to the excitement, they've set up a Barbie-themed area for snapping photos. Customer service holds great importance for me, and to my pleasant surprise, the friendly security guard went above and beyond to help me capture a photo. read more

All I know is it's a fun store. It's my understanding the swishmallows are exclusive to this store. Or at least the one my daughter purchased. I'm not sure. She's purchased the Narwhal. I learned something from her about this real animal. It lives year around near Canada, Greenland and Russia in the Arctic. I'm told it's a medium sized toothed Whale. It was only $5.00. She bought one for her friends child too. To me the store is like Flying Tiger or Spencer's. Just to give you an idea. Go see for yourself if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I can't express how excited I am that there's a five below in Manhattan!!! I brought my friend from California here (where she lives, five below's don't exist) and she was in awe). This store is bright and clean, and everything is laid out neatly. The employees were super cheerful and friendly when I came here on opening weekend and the store had a raffle by the door for a chance to win a five below shopping spree gift card. The thing that I love buying here are the winter scarves, gloves, socks, and hats. They're SO SO SO soft and plushy! I still have scarves from 4 years ago and it's still in perfect condition after being washed and worn many times. Everything here is very 'in' and I love how they incorporate the latest trends (like unicorns, poop, emojis, pineapples, llamas etc...I think sloths will be next bc I saw so many sloth themed items!) into all the products. There's definitely something for everyone and it's a great gift or stocking stuffer destination. read more

I love five below, and this is the largest one with the best selection that I have been to by far. I'm frankly impressed that they could make a store like this work in midtown Manhattan. I have to deduct a star for a weird reason. Every time anybody enters the store, someone behind the counter makes an announcement over the PA saying something along the lines of "Hi, welcome to five below." Sounds innocuous to greet each customer, but after about 5 minutes in the store, it gets incredibly annoying. Like I said, a super weird thing, but every time I'm in there, it gets on my nerves before I leave. Why does it have to be over the PA? The counter is right there, you can greet people without a loudspeaker. read more

Prices cannot be lower than this store. Seriously, prices cannot go lower than this. I was able to get so much and pay for it not as much. The way I planned things is a start with this store and then whatever left a bag other places because they have the best prices. Toys and home goods. Finally, they opened this in Manhattan!! I was annoyed that the water bottles cost more here than in the Queens location I typically go to and they didn't have the animal footprint slippers I wanted but they did have the same good selection of candy. Just watch out with some of the food prices since Tostitos salsa here is NOT at a bargain price. What is worth going for is clothes, wrapping paper, phone cases, stuff like that. More than likely I'll be back since this location is much easier for me to get to than any location in Queens. I also know this area very well and have been here quite often. read more

Wow , bright clean new store, below street level with main entrance on Fifth She. Like the sign says $5 or less, plenty of items to pick including toys. The staff is friendly and helpful with lots of cashiers. Lots of customers leaving with shopping bags of stuff , come by and get the good stuff while you can. read more

My first visit to a Five Below store was in upstate New York. I was SOOO happy when I stumbled upon this location on 5th avenue the other day. The store's very new and clean. It carries pretty much everything. I was able to get a bunch of stocking stuffers and forget me nots from this place. Yes, everything in the store is below $5. I ended up spending over $120 here but I got pretty much everybody's Christmas gifts covered. Definitely worth visiting if you're a tourist--- they sell a lot of NYC related items. read more

A great place to buy random gifts, surprises and party decorations. The stuff that you definitely need and the quality doesn't matter much. However I think the quality is pretty good. I got a nice Santa hat and some pet toys. Very nice and diverse collection with friendly staff. That's nice to see they value even your small business. read more

Just want to say that I had a problem at this store on 171 west 230th street, BX, NY. I rather not get into details. However, I can say, when I called the corporate office to handle my issue...when I say FULL SUPPORT! I mean it! I am so happy everything was resolved. I felt like I mattered and that was very important to me. I will continue to go back to the store because I no longer feel like a dissatisfied customer. are you kidding me , a five below on ritzy 5th ave, no i am not kidding . while taking a different pedestrian route to walk i notice a 5 below has open and i must browse and maybe buy a few trinkets . when you enter a worker is stationed by the door and the escalator takes you to the lower level where you can indulge in a variety of nick nacks from 5 bucks and lower . i was shocked how crowded the place is at 10 am but i guess that the euro tourist love 5 below. you will find some useful stuff if you take the time to go section to section as i did cause so much stuff is crammed neatly on each shelve so if you miss a section you may miss something good. after 20 minutes i wrapped it up cause my cart is full and i gotta carry all this junk to work. checkout line is moving brisk and i got 5 bags for the road. love five below. ok not love but close enough . 4.5 stars on my yelp meter . read more

I actually love the store and the merchandise. I have always had a good experience until now. The bathroom is out of order. How is that possible for a huge store? There is no access for customers to use a public bathroom either. You have to ask to be taken in to the personnel bathroom by the manager. All very weird. Never have a had this experience at Michaels or similar venues. read more
