BEWARE OF RECKLESS DRIVER OF FREDRICK ACCESS SYSTEMS / FALLBROOK OVERHEAD DOORS SERVICE TRUCK At 10:40 am on Tuesday, September 16, 2024, my wife and I were in the east-bound number one lane of Hwy 76 traveling safely at the applicable speed limit. As we approached Bonsall/Fallbrook, we noticed a white service truck bearing the markings of Fredrick Access Systems and Fallbrook Overhead Doors had been tailgating us at about one car length. Before we could change lanes, the Fredrick truck swerved into a break in the number two lane before making an unsafe lane change directly in front of us. I had to take evasive action to avoid a collision by only a few feet. Here is our photograph of the truck identifying the exact Fredricks truck that endangered us. Shortly after the incident I placed a call to the telephone number shown on the truck and spoke with business owner Ann Fredrick. I described the reckless operation of her company's truck and asked that she take appropriate action to assure her employee's accountability. I specifically asked that she investigate the incident and follow up with me later in the day with the first name of the driver and a description of the corrective action she decided to take. Although initially polite, Ms. Fredrick quickly became evasive, said she would not disclose the driver's first name and never followed up with me. We believe that Fredrick's failure to responsibly address this instance of reckless conduct, conflicts with the public personae it presents to the community. We therefore decided to post this information as a community service with the hope that Fredrick re-evaluates its responsibility to the neighborhood it professes to honorably serve. read more

The technician came out and just did not seem knowledgeable at all. He was on the phone (most likely with a colleague) asking questions on what to do. Just obviously not experienced. What makes this a disappointing visit is that we were basically charged $100+ for nothing. Yes, just to come out and say they can't fix it. I can understand the positive reviews. If everything would have gone as planned, our experience would have also been good. When a project did *not* go as planned, we had negative and unsatisfactory experiences with this company. After some jobs were successfully completed (e.g. car gate motor installation), issues were encountered during a custom gate order. Gate designs were provided *as instructed (PDF)* and was told the format was unacceptable. Mark, the owner, didn't assist with fulfilling gate design requirements which required AutoCAD. Something Frederick Access did not state up front nor possess. The owner did not communicate adequately to resolve order issues. I ultimately placed the gate order with a company that was able to generate an AutoCAD design that was necessary to laser cut a gate panel. The Owner, Mark, indicated Frederick Access lost money on the job. At no time was I informed that gate fabrication (in the absence of an approved rendering/design) had begun. Owner declined to discuss the issues, or work towards a resolution (which would have involved fabricating additional gates). The owner indicated that in addition to having lost money on the job, he had spent too much time on the project and although I had two more gates to have fabricated, he was uninterested in discussing further work on a gate. Rather, his response was that with the exception of warranty work, he would no longer service our door equipment. We have received good service from Tip Top and superior service from ADS however I would have preferred to spend my money in Fallbrook. read more

Chris came out on time, immediately assessed the issue, repaired an old splice in the wire (from the original installer-different company) that was not waterproof and was corroded, causing the problems. He quickly changed over our gate call system from landline to intercom so we could ditch the old copper landline (expensive) service we had. I have used Frederick Access before for a different issue, and have always been pleased with the results. Can't recommend them highly enough. Best gate company I've seen, by far. Prices are reasonable as well. This is a local company and deserves our local business. read more
