Our torsion springs on our garage door decided they'd served long enough, and broke yesterday around 4:00pm. I found two companies on Yelp that had great reviews, one of them being William. The other company didn't pickup the phone, and I have not heard back from them. But William picked up the phone, and said he could come by in 15 minutes. He had the parts on hand, so by 5:00pm our springs were replaced for a reasonable price and we were able to use our garage door opener again. I normally get a few bids before deciding which company to go with, but based on William's great reviews, his expertise, and the quote being reasonable, we decided to move forward with him. While he was here, he did a quick tune up on the garage door opener and also gave me a free estimate on some maintenance items we could do in the future to keep the garage door working well. There was zero pressure, no upselling, and the prices he quoted were reasonable. We have a 33 year old opener, and he didn't even pressure us to replace that. I wouldn't hesitate to work with him in the future, and have already told one of our neighbors about his business. read more

GM Garage Doors - Garage Door Services Near Me - Oceanside , California

William, the owner of GM garage doors, delivers fantastic customer service and value. He is friendly, professional, has integrity, and does excellent work. In the past, he helped my husband and I troubleshoot error codes over the phone - for free! I had other techs come out and they all told me that my motor was broken, but in reality the laser was misaligned and I end up fixing it and getting another year out of the motor... Fast forward 1 year and our motor finally broke for good. William was responsive, came by very quickly, and replaced the garage door motor efficiently at around 50% of the cost quoted by other techs. We are happy to recommend this company. read more

I originally had another company come out for a garage door repair, but I felt like they were being very pushy and unprofessional, so I decided not to use them. A friend gave me the number for William at GM Garage Doors, and I am so glad they did. From the very first call, I could tell William takes his work seriously. He was professional, honest, and straightforward--no pressure and no unnecessary charges. He explained everything clearly, treated the job with care, and the whole process felt easy and stress-free. If you're looking for someone reliable, fair, and professional for your garage door, I can't recommend William and GM Garage Doors enough! read more

GM Garage Doors was very responsive in the beginning. He came out quickly and gave a decent price. His price was $10 cheaper than the bigger garage door companies. He was the first one available to replace the garage door springs. He looked at the springs but didn't have all the parts. He left, came back, and replaced the 2 springs in a timely manner. I paid him cash and he confirmed he would send a receipt with 1 year warranty to my phone and/or email. I have reached out to him numerous times since and he has yet to answer my calls, text, or yelp messages. Sadly feel like a quick money grab vs a customer relationship for future work. Now if I have any issues with the springs he installed he won't answer. I would recommend another more reputable garage door company since the price was about the same. read more

One of the torsions springs had broken and prevented us from even opening our garage door. After creating a quote on Yelp, William was the first to call and it turned out that he was only five minutes away. Upon showing up, William identified the issue and quickly went about replacing both springs. From the time I realized we had a broken garage door to William fixing it took approximately 45 minutes. It's rare something is resolved so quickly. I highly recommend William, he's professional, friendly, offers great value, and extremely quick read more

Overall, highly recommend because he was available on a weekend and arrived within half hour. When I called to schedule an appointment, William was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. He provided a clear explanation of the services and pricing, which made me feel confident in my decision to go with him. He took the time to thoroughly assess my garage door issues and explained the repairs that needed to be done. I appreciated his transparency about the costs and the timeline for completion. The repairs were completed efficiently, and I was impressed with the quality of work. My garage door is now functioning. read more

I absentmindedly popped my garage door out of the track. William answered on the first call and said he could be out within 60-90 minutes on the weekend. Thought it might be a huge repair but he had it fixed within 20 minutes for a reasonable rate. Nice guy and the owner, would definitely recommend. read more

I've used this company for 10 years. I first contacted William when I bought my home and the garage doors wouldn't open because the motor was old. He let me know that the whole system would need to be repaired eventually but he thought that just doing the garage door opener for now would work and be the cheapest option. I asked him to quote me different prices and he did. I appreciated that he was not pushy but very straight up with "this is the cheapest option, you can do this for now to save yourself some money and in a couple years you will need to upgrade" Well he was right. I was able to use his fix for 7 years and then eventually I needed to replace my garage doors. They were old at that point AND my roommate hit the garage door a few times when pulling in which caused it to be off track. Again William gave quick and hassle free service. Always professional, on time, and guaranteed work! Support a small business and use this company, you won't be disappointed! read more

I called for a quote Monday at 4 pm. Without seeing the repair i needed he quoted me a fair price so we made arrangements for him to come by on his way home from his last job. There was a little more work that what we had originally thought but he just added $20 to the price and did it right then and there. By 7 pm had a working garage again! I am usually weird about people in my house but felt very comfortable with William. A Nice guy! read more

William answered my call on a Sunday and told me he could send someone to fix my gate on Monday. He referred someone independent from his company to come fix my gate. There was a little bit of miscommunication because his gate repair referral never told me there would be a charge for coming out. I understand you can't just look at a gate and see what's wrong but I assume there are some companies that don't charge to diagnose. I was never made aware that there would be a charge and was unwillingly stuck with an $80 charge without any notice or anything in writing. Even when I explained that I wasn't told there would be a charge and that I specifically asked William about that ahead of time, the gate repairman insisted that he should be paid. Anyway, William responded to my concerns and we came to an agreement that I would pay for half. Moral of the story is that if you ever get a referral for a repair/service from another business, always check with the referral about the price. William seems like an honest guy who cares about his business. He followed through and made things right. read more

Wow! Superior Quality Garage Doors is the way to go!!! My garage door rail bent on one side and the cable came loose so I had to call for a repair immediately. I had another company out to give me a quote on their repair service, which was a $30 service call, and then proceed to quote me $775, then $700, then $450, then $250, then call their supervisor to quote me $220 for a non-warrantied repair. This was just crazy!!! Three sales men and a fourth over the phone with the hard sell. Not gonna happen! I gave then their $30 service call and they walked out of my house with their backs to me very mad. Now, William is honest, friendly and very knowledgeable about garage door repair and products. He gave it to me straight with a free estimate (NO SERVICE CALL CHARGE)! I got my garage door fixed for a great deal and will use William again and again! I will be scheduling an appointment with William to change out my wheels and install a new opener very soon! You gotta call William for all your garage needs! He has an amazing full garage door with opener deal as well! Thanks for the great service and quick response! Lisa & Scott read more

I had to have someone come out for an emergency repair of my garage door late in the afternoon. My house is on the market and the door catastrophically broke and was hanging partially off the track, not going up or down, and on top of everything else, I was booked for two showings. Awkward. My realtor recommended this company so I called and left a message. A few minutes later my call was returned, and about 30-40 minutes later William showed up! I was impressed. William had a neat and clean appearance, and was friendly and knowledgeable. It turned out I needed new springs and a new opener, so he got my door back on the track where I was able to close it for the evening and came back early the next day, before his first appointment of the day, to bring by the parts and fix it. Outstanding service! I highly recommend Superior Quality Garage Doors. read more

Long story short. 1st Co. I called was a no show. 2nd Co. did a "safety inspection" when it was clear the issue was a broken spring. Then they quoted a price that was almost 3 times the amount quoted on the phone! Classic bait'n'switch. William with Superior came when he said he would. Got right to work on the stated issue and replaced both springs. Not to mention, placing lubricant on all working parts. Door works like a charm and is quieter than before. Would recommend these guys to anyone with a garage door issue or need. read more
