Fred Rush of Tri-City Overhead Door truly came to my rescue today. I am caregiving my elderly parents who have nearly daily medical appointments or urgent care emergencies. I need to be able to get my car in and out of the garage at a moment's notice. When I arrived home from my dad's medical appointment, the garage door wouldn't open - either from the remote or from inside the garage. I left a message for Fred, explained the situation, and he returned my call within minutes. He said he could be at my house at a specific time (about a half-hour from the call) and showed up on time. Fortunately it was a broken spring that could be replaced and Fred had the part in his truck. He did a thorough rebalancing, lubrication and other needed maintenance, and gave me many tips to keep the door in good shape. This time, I needed Fred's help in repairing a broken spring. I also had trouble making the door release work, so my car was trapped in the garage and I couldn't go anywhere. Long story short, he showed me how to release the door and also manually got it open since the spring was broken. I was in a panic when I called, extremely early in the morning, and needed a roller put back on the garage door track before my aunt returned home that evening. My garage door was making a tremendous amount of noise when being raised as the rollers were scraping against the tracks. It was comparable to a person dragging their fingernails across a chalkboard. I called Fred in the late afternoon on a Monday and asked what his availability was. He said that he could come out the next morning at 8:30 AM.
