A sensor on our garage door opener was knocked out and we couldn't use it to lower or raise the garage door. We bought our garage door from Fred Rush, the sole owner of Tri-City 0verhead Door. This is what you want in a garage door company!!! Safety first. Came to gave me a quote and asked if he could fix and tighten cables and springs before he left because he put safety first! His prices are fair and competitive in a sea of unscrupulous companies; he is easy and laidback. Had an issue after our new opener was installed and he came right back to make it right! I found Fred fixing our neighbors garage door the other day. I asked him for a card & showed him the weatherstripping & track adjustment that needed fixed. He was able to come back the following day and replace the weatherstripping & adjust the track for a more air/light tight fit on our garage door. Fred Rush of Tri-City Overhead Door truly came to my rescue today. I am caregiving my elderly parents who have nearly daily medical appointments or urgent care emergencies. I need to be able to get my car in and out of the garage at a moment's notice. When I arrived home from my dad's medical appointment, the garage door wouldn't open - either from the remote or from inside the garage. I left a message for Fred, explained the situation, and he returned my call within minutes. He said he could be at my house at a specific time (about a half-hour from the call) and showed up on time. Fortunately it was a broken spring that could be replaced and Fred had the part in his truck. He did a thorough rebalancing, lubrication and other needed maintenance, and gave me many tips to keep the door in good shape. I also needed a more trustworthy remote to replace my "iffy" 20-year-old model. He had modern universal remotes that worked with my old Genie system. I will be calling Fred when it's time to replace to a new garage door opening system. read more

Professional, Knowledgeable, Great Service - Highly recommended! I've used Tri City Overhead Door twice in the past several years. When the original garage door opener bit the dust I called many companies for an estimate and luckily found Fred. Fred is very knowledgeable about the whole garage door system, works fast, gets you a good price for the parts/new equipment (I checked retail prices on the garage door opener), takes times to explain things and answer questions, and offers a very fair price for the work that is needed. This time, I needed Fred's help in repairing a broken spring. I also had trouble making the door release work, so my car was trapped in the garage and I couldn't go anywhere. Fred returned my call and offered to come over to look at the system and repair it if he had the right parts in his truck and also to help me get the door open so I could use my car. Long story short, he showed me how to release the door and also manually got it open since the spring was broken. He came back the next business day to repair the spring since he didn't have the parts in his truck. He game me an approximate time when he thought he could work on the repair and called the day of to make sure the time still worked. Then he showed up, made the repairs, and checked the whole system to make sure everything was working properly. I would highly recommend Tri City Overhead Door! And he's a local small business owner, so for me that's another reason why I would recommend his business. read more

Fred was super nice... very humble and not a hard sell at all. Was punctual - actually he was able to arrive a little early. And in an hour and a half I had a new garage door motor - plus he hauled the old one away. Helped me set up my code and the car remote also. I have to say. I could have gone with Home Depot, but Fred was flexible with my schedule and frankly, I'd rather give my business to a cool, hardworking local guy. Shy of messing one's self in public; getting pooped on by a bird or getting a misspelled tattoo, there are few things more embarrassing than backing into your own garage door. I was in a panic when I called, extremely early in the morning, and needed a roller put back on the garage door track before my aunt returned home that evening. Fred returned my call, i'm sure as soon as they opened, and left a message to call him back asap, that he needed to go to San Diego but depending on my call back he would adjust his schedule but could be available that afternoon. I had also called another company, in the middle of the night and they responded just a little sooner than Fred and were on their way. There were two messages from him when I was able to retrieve them. The later checking again with me before he left for San Diego. I finally was able to return his calls and apologized for my delay in returning his calls. His timely response time, adequate follow-up, and willingness to adjust his schedule are exceptional qualities for a business. Thank you Fred! read more
