I had a wonderful experience with Rampart Garage Doors and Tom, the owner and installer. I initially reached out through Yelp for a quote, and Tom was incredibly responsive from the very beginning. He clearly explained the pros and cons of repairing my 20-year-old motor with a failed belt versus replacing it and gave me several options to consider. I ultimately chose a LiftMaster 6690L along with new rollers, and I have no regrets. The system is dramatically quieter and a terrific upgrade. Kudos to Tom for working some magic to make everything fit in very tight quarters, and for the thorough explanation of the technology and programming. From start to finish, the experience was excellent: clear communication, fair pricing, prompt service, and high-quality work with outstanding attention to detail. Tom is an absolute professional and an incredibly friendly person. I was delighted with the entire experience and would highly recommend Rampart Garage Doors. I will certainly turn to them again for any future garage door needs. read more

We were looking to upgrade our garage doors so I contacted multiple companies. Tom was one of the only people who responded quickly and actually took the time to listen to what I had to say and explain our different options. He reached out to the vendor and was able to provide an accurate quote in a very timely manner. I feel like many other companies were just throwing out suspiciously large and round numbers. Tom's politeness and professionalism were already above and beyond the others, and his quote turned out to be extremely competitive too. He was kind enough to order color samples and bring them to us so we could make an informed decision before moving forward. The installation went very smoothly and we couldn't be happier with the end result. The new garage doors completely transform our home. All in all the experience was entirely positive and stress-free, and I would highly recommend Rampart Garage Doors! read more

I cannot recommend Rampart Garage Doors enough. Tom was amazing from the first phone call. I sent him a picture of my broken garage door spring and he immediately gave me a fair price over the phone. No gimmicks. No tricks. Just honest service. Tom showed up exactly on time and had a great attitude. He explained the problem clearly and offered a straightforward solution. The repair was done quickly and professionally. No up sell! It is rare to find a company that is this honest and easy to work with. Rampart Garage Doors earned a customer for life. Tom installed a new garage door opener for us. First class installation. Highly recommended.

Tom recently installed a LiftMaster garage door opener for me, and I couldn't be happier with the service. He was professional, responsive to all my questions, and his pricing was very fair--actually better than several other quotes I received. The installation was clean and well done, with great attention to detail. Afterward, Tom took the time to explain all the features and made sure everything was working perfectly. He also cleaned up the entire work area before leaving. I highly recommend Tom to anyone looking for quality garage door opener installation. read more

Tom was the very best. I just a bolt missing when he first looked at my door and he was not going to even charge me for the service call. We looked at my door springs decided he needed to service them. They are now back to perfect condition. Tom was so kind and I felt I could trust his judgement. I rarely post reviews. I highly recommend Tom. read more

I have used Rampart Garage Doors on 2 of my properties now with great results. Tom has shown excellence in his ability, knowledge, experience, and responsiveness each time. He is professional, kind, and honest about what needs to be done and what may be recommended to keep things running smoothly (literally). It's always a bummer when things break, however having a trusted technician to get you out of the jam is such a relief. I highly recommend him and his company. I always get 3 bids on everything, his prices are very fair, right on point with others, and even better than some quotes I got. Thank you Tom for another quality job today. Highly recommended! read more

These guys were great! Tom was extremely communicative and explained all my options for new garage door and motor replacement. He sent timely estimates and was super quick to respond to all my questions (even after the install). Install was excellent and prices comparable to other estimates. But Tom's attentiveness and communication won me over, and it wasn't really even close. Definitely recommend. -Tim read more

Left for work a few weeks ago but got locked inside my garage! I hit the garage door opener but nothing happened! I tried a few tricks I knew of but nothing worked. I called Thomas with Rampart Garage Doors and he was able to come out that same day and found the culprit; my belt. It was literally falling apart and it was in pieces. In less than 2 hours, I had a new belt and could finally open and close my garage door without having to manually do it while my neighbors laughed at me :) Thank you Thomas! read more

If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would! The top notch service started with their response via Yelp. I wanted an estimate to replace a couple garage door openers. Most places said they would send someone out to look and provide an estimate. Not Tom. He supplied pricing for two different models, and offered to provide more if we wanted. He then came out to look at the setup and discuss options. He was straight forward and honest. No gimmicks, games, or haggling. We agreed on the work and a date/time. I had the formal quote in my email later that day. Installation was performed by Donovan. He was on time, courteous, and professional. We reviewed the work to be done and he got right to it. When the work was completed, he reviewed everything with us, confirmed it worked to our satisfaction, and made sure our questions were addressed. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. recommend Rampart for all your garage door needs! read more

A very pleasant experience. From the beginning Tom was informative and responsive to my inquires. We exchanged some information, Tom provided an estimate and the installation was scheduled. Tom arrived within the agreed time window and completed the installation of two LiftMaster 2420L garage door openers. He then took the time to explain the idiosyncrasies of the openers and demonstrated their operation. Additionally, he lubricated and adjusted the doors and left the area clean and spotless. This was a very professional installation at a very fair price. Definitely recommend Tom Hannah and Rampart Garage Doors. read more

My wife and I had a great experience with Tom. He is honest and very knowledgeable. He didn't even try to sell a new garage door first before trying all other possible repair options. I can't recommend him enough, I wish all the businesses would be like this one. read more

The spring of our garage door broke and we needed service right away. I called Rampart and got in touch with one of the staff members. She took my number and mentioned that I will get a call back once someone was available. It wasn't very long when Tom from Rampart called back. I was able to take pictures of the broken spring and text messaged the images to Tom. Right away he knew what needed to get done and provided a fair price. He was able to work on my garage door within an hour after talking to him and he finished the job in less than a hour. He also did some minor maintenance on the garage door making sure everything was working properly. I had a great experience with Tom. I highly recommend Rampart. The service was fast and quick. It just worked out that there was no need to wait for someone to come over and do an estimate, Tom was able to save me the time. read more

When you have a great experience, you let everyone know and we did. Tom was awesome. Responsive and communicative throughout the process. I had Rampart come out last week to fix my garage door that wouldn't go all the way down. In about an hour, Tom was able to assess what was going on and fix it via a very reasonably-priced general tune-up. He also helped me understand the flaws of my garage door setup, and we discussed what a future upgrade/replacement might look like. All without any aggressive upsells or anything like that. I was really happy with the service and pricing and will definitely be calling Rampart when it's time for that upgrade. read more

after working with this company now for 5+ years it's about time I write this honest testimonial. I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Tom and his company for their exceptional service. They have installed multiple garage doors for me, both at my rental properties and my personal properties, including a $20,000 garage door at my primary residence, and dozens of garage door openers for my clients. His work is outstanding, and he stands firmly behind it! I never write testimonials, but this guy is worth the time to write it.? If you have any issues, such as a squeaky door, Tom is there promptly to service it. I wish all companies operated with the same top-notch professionalism and dedication that Tom does. By far, this is the best service I have ever received. I recommend Tom and his company without hesitation. My automatic garage door was replaced and I could not be more pleased with the service. Hands down, a great value when all options were explained. Full replacement was the best option for my money. The new Lift Master runs smoothly and so much quieter than the old outdated model that would no longer work. In addition, all the old parts were taken away and the operation of the new one explained. I also have the new one connected to my WiFi allowing me access to open and close my garage door remotely from my phone from anywhere. So convenient to not need a separate remote when in my car. Thanks Thomas and Robert. This business model works! read more

Tom and his crew is one of those rare honest teams in san diego. He came with one other worker and fixed our martin garage door without going overboard in suggesting expensive repairs -- he even was able to quote the right repair over text messages based on our photos. Our door is tricky because it is a vintage martin door originally spec'd with two asymmetric springs, but Tom repaired it with symmetrical torsion springs and all the bearings inspected and replaced as needed. Our garage door is now the quietest I have ever heard, and whenever I need garage work done, I'll simply call Rampart garage doors and not bother with getting other quotes. read more

Called last week and setup appt for today. Thomas setup time 9-11 and called me this morning to confirm. Garage was making horrible noise and wouldn't close. Thomas arrived around 10. Very polite and knowledgeable. Diagnosed a few broken parts in motor which was 22 years old. Decided to get new one. He went to get motor and came back. Changed out sensors, garage controller, linked car, and got new motor. Works smooth and great. Walked me through all equipment. Highly recommend!!! Great service!! read more

Thanks to Tom, Robert and team for our new garage door. I selected them after getting quotes from two other highly reviewed installers on Yelp. Prices were all comparable. Tom is very detail orientated which I liked during the quote process. He also came up with a creative solution to give us the privacy and light we wanted. The install wasn't without any hiccups but each misstep was promptly and kindly resolved without much inconvenience. Robert and team installed the door in a tight space with limited headroom. We were so glad that we read the Yelp reviews and chose to contact this business when our garage door opener decided to die. Tom was so reliable, helpful, friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. I contacted Rampart on a Sunday afternoon, and even though they were closed, Tom quickly responded to me via yelp with a very thorough reply and quite. I still had a couple of other companies come do a quick bid and Rampart's pricing was by far the best. Tom always answered with professionalism and industry knowledge. When he came to service the garage the next morning, he was on time and easy to understand the work he'd be completing. No hidden fees or surprises, everything was as discussed and he also explained any extras he could perform if we desired them. The job was completed in a timely manner and Tom stayed behind to answer a few more of my questions and explain the features of our new opener. I don't think there is much new that I can contribute to what the other reviewers have said other than to let you know that Tom's stellar service record continues. I reached out to him late on Friday afternoon to discuss our ancient opener that finally and catastrophically failed. He outlined options and pricing and made a recommendation for a new opener that would meet our needs. Amazingly, he had an opening in his schedule just a few days later. He showed up at the agreed time and installed exactly what we discussed for exactly the price we discussed ... sadly, all three of those things are quite rare these days. We are definitely enjoying our new, safer, maintenance-free, quiet opener - thanks again Tom - I will recommend your services to anyone without any reservations. read more

Rampart is truly outstanding - I ordered a door online and couldn't find anyone willing to install it. I reached out to 7 different companies on Yelp and they all told me they didn't install doors they didn't sell. All except one! Tom responded quickly and courteously and gave me an outstanding quote. They even guaranteed their work for a year despite me providing the door. The installer Robert came exactly when he said, removed my old door and installed the new one in a little over 2 hours. He even greased my opener for free. I highly recommend this company. I will tell all of my friends! Thanks so much Rampart Garage Doors! read more
