No fluff, just what happened today: my husband and I came to this place after a lady recommended it on Camp Pendleton. I am black, my husband is Latino. We walked in and the place was almost dead. A woman tells us to take a booth anywhere near the back--I quickly wonder why because I see 3 free booths right there, 2 of which are clean, but still we just head to the back. A server who seems to be working register comes the moment we sit down and asks "what can I get you to drink?" even though we have no menu, don't know what they have, and I just say "I'll take water for now" but changed it to lemonade once I knew they had it. About 5-10 mins later, my husband and I see this awesome pickup truck park in the space next to our car through the window. A young white couple gets out and comes in. The same lady that directed us to the back 10 minutes ago sits them right at the front with the few other customers that are there. The other lady quickly comes to their table and asks for their drinks; by now we've been ready to order for like 10 mins but not her, the lady who told us where to sit, or the other server just walking around came to ask us anything. The final straw... I saw the same server that was taking drink orders walk over to the young white couple and take their order even though we've been clearly ready, menus closed for almost 15 minutes by now and there for about 10 mins before this couple. Once I saw that, I put my drink down, told my husband "let's go" and we walked right past her and right outta the place--no I didn't pay for those damn lemonades. That's just what happened... don't wanna scream racism or homophobia, I'm just saying what happened with 0 fluff or exaggeration. read more

Haven't been here for twenty years, but stopped for dinner last night. I ordered a French Dip Sandwich and my husband had the Meatloaf dinner which included a side salad, scoop of ice cream for dessert. We enjoyed our dinner, but pleasantly surprised how clean the restaurant was from spotless clean windows, clean tables, and wiped down each menu before giving to patrons. Lots of parking and old school coffee shop ambiance. Just good old American style offerings. I've been here a handful of times but never thought to write about my experience. I really enjoyed the roast beef club sandwich the last time I was here. My son came to visit and we ordered breakfast. Stopped by before hitting the road back home with my family from a 2 night stay at Splitrock Mountain. I liked the outside appearance of a classic diner. I was pretty hungry myself. I ordered the 2 by 2 I believe it was called, 2 eggs 2 pancakes and sausage. I ordered a side of hash and a side of toast. It was delicious and hit the spot. Third, but last, time eating at this cafe. Two previous meals were terrible; one breakfast, one dinner. This third time (a charm?) was breakfast again. I can usually tell a good restaurant by its signature dish. For example, when I eat Italian, I always order the lasagna first. If they can't cook that dish, I never go back. My first time at Fallbrook cafe was dinner; I had meatloaf; simple, basic. They ruined it. Probably came from a can. Yuck! Second time was breakfast, it was so mediocre I can't recall what I had, but do recall it was uninspiring/unmemorable. This time (my last)), was breakfast again. I was in a Mexican food mood, so I there's something very easy to make; a bacon, ham and sausage burrito, with cheese and potatoes. Why is it white people think they can make decent Mexican food; and why did I even try it. Yuck!!!! And their salsa was worse still. Never again! Don't waste you money; ever! read more

Stumbled on this little gem while driving around Fallbrook. It is a spot where you can tell all the local hang out. Service was fast and food was good. It reminded me of the diner Alice worked in on the 1970's mid 80's television show. Small town flavor, relaxed atmosphere and good friends. read more

Server and staff were friendly, however, we waited longer than people who came after us and were unsure why when we both had the same amount of people and a baby. Supper yummy if you're looking for diner food in Fallbrook! We came for breakfast recently and it was just what I expected - fast, tasty, and a little greasy (in a good way). We were seated quicky, the service was great, and I'll definitely be returning again. They also have weekly fish fry and prime rib dinners that we'll be checking out as well! read more

People are friendly but they always seem short staffed... longer wait times and food is a bit pricy for standard cafe food.

I wish my food matched the good service but it was seriously the worst omelette I've ever had. They put Swiss cheese instead of Colby Jack on my Ortega chili omelette. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs and the biscuit and gravy was more like a rock with gravy. The hash browns were way over cooked and almost burnt. This is slowly becoming one of my favorite places to come and have a nice meal with my family in a less formal setting than most sit down places. I can already tell from the friendly staff that this will likely become one of those local establishments where sooner or later I won't even need a menu because the staff will know our orders so well from our frequenting the business. The food is delicious and reasonably priced - especially for a cafe that serves a variety of foods in a small community. I have already begun to meet some of the locals that frequent the restaurant, and they have been so welcoming to us as we have moved from Oceanside to Fallbrook. I am happy with these smaller local businesses and the fact that they're so community oriented...I am excited to get to know even more of the local businesses and truly immerse ourselves in our new community so far I absolutely adore the small town vibe and quiet of Fallbrook and I am happy we chose this house to settle down in...I am hopeful that I will meet more people and make some connections to get involved in volunteerism as well. We were looking for nice spot to meet up with friends and have some breakfast. Fallbrook Cafe was the perfect spot for some of us who live in Temecula and other a who live in Oceanside. I loved their atmosphere and the location of their cafe. The food was delicious especially their signature dishes. We were seated right away and were served our coffee in no time. Overall the service was excellent. The waitresses are friendly and helpful. I would recommend to anyone passing by this town or meeting up between towns. read more

Mom and I came here after our hair appointment and also picked up some items to take home for the family. I enjoyed my Fallbrook Omelet and mom enjoyed her Link sausage and eggs. I will say the OBrien potato's did arrive a bit cold and the biscuit in the biscuits and gravy was a bit tough, but the gravy was very tasty. We also ordered some items to take home to the family. We ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy, eggs and sausage, along with an ABC (Avocado, Bacon and Cheese). When I arrived home, I noticed I was given a BLT instead of the ABC. My sister said it was still delicious, but it was not what we ordered. Overall the food was good and the coffee was hot and will definitely be back. read more
