This place is so good, that my husband and I came to have breakfast here two days in a row! The menu has a good variety of items for whatever mood you're in, and they cook the food to near perfection. I am in love with Fallbrook and a big part of that comes from living less than 5 minutes from Fallbrook Cafe. Loterally every single thing I have ever eaten from the cafe, I have loved, even if I don't usually like it. I've tried their clam chowder, chili, gyro, burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches and their waffles. The waffles are my absolute favorite! Holy crap I was not expecting that! We've driven by Fallbrook Cafe about a hundred times and we finally ventured in last weekend. The inside is way different than I thought it would be, it reminds me of an old diner on the inside. There's one long 'bar' on one side and a bunch of little booths lining the other, it kindof takes you back in time a little. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner.. (and yes, they serve breakfast ALL STINKIN DAY!) I didn't really explore the lunch or dinner menus because, let's face it, if you read my reviews you know that breakfast is my main bitch. BUT, I will say that the lady next to us was having a full turkey dinner with a giant pile of mashed potatos and it looked pretttty tasty. SO I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast with sausage pattys and hasbrowns.. oh and it just happens to come with a side of biscuits and gravy. I was in BREAKFAST HEAVEN!! The sausage pattys were gigantic and delicious as was the rest of the breakfast. The hubs had a gigantic waffle, also with a side of B&G.. we were both super happy, and then we were in food comas. Came here while staying down in this area with my bf's folks. I like the homey-ness of this little diner, with it's long bar and little booths lining wall. It's a classic looking place and even more classic with the overwhelming amount of old grannies and grandpas. I decided to go for the 2 2 2 (?), which consisted of bacon, sausage, eggs, and french toast. Yummy! I wish I could eat french toast all the time, but then I would get fat, and that would not be cool. I especially liked the sausage, which was nice and greasy haha. I generally like to go to interesting or trendy brunch places, but sometimes a simply, cozy meal at a greasy spoon is just what I need! read more

Went there for breakfast on a weekday. The sign said 5 dollar breakfast specials before 11am. After we were seated I asked about their 5 dollar specials and it was only 1 choice which was a breakfast burrito. I thought it sounded good so I ordered it. My husband got the waffle combo. Food came and my burrito was small with no sides or anything! okay fine, it was 5 bucks on special, however they should never charge more than 5 bucks for that little thing! I'm not trying to sound like a cheap a$$ but this place was way over priced for what you get. My husbands waffle was on the smaller side, looked like 1 scrambled egg and 1 link for 9 bucks. I will say the coffee was good. Service was good, people were nice and I will say that my inlaws love this place for dinner but again I think its a bit overpriced for a rundown cafe. read more

I was really hoping that this could be one of our regular spots. Our first trip was okay. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. The gravy was a little runny for me, but it was okay. My daughter got chicken strips. I guess there isn't a lot you can do to ruin those. I went back a few weeks later, and was very disappointed. We sat at the counter, and at times I felt invisible. I don't want someone hovering over me, but come on. When I'm sitting at the counter, I shouldn't have to try to get someone's attention to get a coffee refill. The food was not very good at all. I had breakfast again...just bacon and eggs. The hashbrowns had a really bad flavor to them. It was almost like they used bad butter. Very disappointing. I gave this 2 stars out of respect for the server. They are always very nice. The food is failing. Potatoes, gravy and processed turkey was cold. Enchiladas consisted of rubbery corn tortillas with cold chicken and tomato sauce. Rice was tasteless and cold. No salsa, nothing. I think the meal was heated up in the microwave. A waste of calories and money. Not a pleasant Sunday dinner and we would not consider this home cooking. I will not be bringing my family here when they visit. read more

It's a cafe that serves a little bit of everything. Breakfast is good, lunch is ok, dinner is not so much. Food is always Tasteless, always in need of salt and seasoning. We happen to always randomly get this one waitress every time. She seems so unhappy and seem to hate her job. Very unfriendly and not so welcoming. I think this was my third time here. I keep trying it hoping It would get better. It's a bit outdated inside and has that smell of cooking grease. This time I ordered 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon and wheat toast. Eggs were a bit overcooked and served a bit cold. Bacon was way undercooked. Two slices of dry wheat bread, not even toasted. Was heated only and left to get cold. First time I ever left bacon and toast for the trash. Service was friendly however and lots of customers. read more

Just moved here and have had the local food for about 5 days now since I can't find my pots and pans to do some home cooking. So I set out to find a good place for fresh food. Well I found it. This little old diner had the best filet mignon steak breakfast special with a side of biscuit and gravy. Everything, and I mean every single item on my plate was fresh. I can't tell you how good it was to taste some real home cooked freshly made food, not greasy and the gravy was mouth watering. I wanted to order more it was that good. I stopped by this place after a doctors appointment and it was one of those great times where you find an unexpected gem! Everything tasted extremely fresh. The biscuits and gravely tastes like candy, and the hash browns were a perfect golden brown. The best part is that after I ate a huge omelet, hash browns and biscuits and gravy I didn't feel gross. Their fish and chips are great. For $8.50 (senior menu) you get three pieces of fish, chips, roll or cornbread, soup or salad. It's all very good and fresh. However the service is not so good. The waitresses are not that friendly and rarely smile. The last time I was in there we waited quite a few minutes to be seated, then the waitress pointed to a table for us from halfway down the restaurant. I travel about 10 miles to get to this restaurant, but will have to think twice about that. read more

Found this wonderful cafe on Yelp. I've lived in Fallbrook for 12 years and have never eaten here. So glad we tried it out. We're big fans of breakfast at any hour and their all-day breakfast menu fit the bill. I had the Fallbrook omelette with avocado, bacon, and jack cheese, with a chocolate chip pancake on the side.
