So my roommate had a bizarre situation where her bedroom door somehow locked on its own (paranormal activity?) after she closed it and then couldn't get back in. The key we had wouldn't work, and I tried rather unsuccessfully to 1) use the credit card trick a la Friends (door was too flush for that 2) pick the lock (no idea how to do that) and 3) kick the door in (let's blame the narrow hallway and my long legs). The roommate was out for the night so I decided to find a locksmith on my own, which I've never had to do before. Saw that Falcon Locksmith was pretty close to me, had high reviews and a fast quote time, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Toby responded super fast to my inquiry, and after a phone call and quote he said he could get here in an hour. It ended up being around only half an hour, and he gave me updates on how far away he was which I thought was a nice touch. Due to the extreme cold, the key in my outside lock froze and broke off. I called Falcon because of the great reviews on Yelp. Well, They proved to be a great locksmith. They came by and gave an honest assessment and was really gracious. They said a part would need to be ordered and could come back in two three days.
