Food is wonderful. It is fresh and delicious. The melon with prosciutto is outstanding as well as the octopus salad. I cannot explain the pizza except to say it was like going to heaven. Coming from NY and being Italian, I know good Italian food and thus us fine of the best I had in Italy. This restaurant located at the San Marco Square. If you walk through the San Marco, you will find the restaurant is next to the San Marco Basilica. The restaurant has typical Venetian food, Italian Cuisine, pizza, seafood and steak. It a lot of choice. I got the Sogliola al Ferri - grilled sole fish. This is a Mediterranean fish. I like it to be white fish with a lot of meat. I have this fish in Spain before. I think the one I have in Spain is better. It come with garnish and potatoes fried. Service is good. They offer to debone for me but I rather do it myself. I like the restaurant to be close to square. read more

My wife and I were wondering around looking for a place to have dinner. We decided to eat here since it was close to the hotel and we were ready to be done walking around. My wife got a margarita pizza and I got the lasagna bolognese. My lasagna was fantastic! I wish I could bring this dish back to the states with me. The service was great even though they were closing within the hour. The only reason why this place did not get a 5 star was because the table bread is stale. While in Venice, we visited this location twice and both experiences were great. We were promptly greeted after being directed inside. Both times we were able to get tables that overlooked the street for people watching. They do have outside patio seating as well, but the weather was cool in late December. When seated, we quickly received our complementary Bellini's. A tasty little drink. Bread was delivered and we were given time to review the menu. One of our visits occurred on New Year's Eve and the menu was slightly different and typical with all restaurants, the pricing was increased double or triple. Both times our meals were great and our selection varied by times. If you ask for a large beer, be prepared. It is large - see attached picture. We had wine and dessert both times as well and enjoyed both. It's located in a corner of San Marco Square and has a great deal of foot traffic. I highly recommend this location during your visit. The food was just OK, but the prices seemed a bit steep. We popped in because we were hungry, the restaurant was right outside St. Mark's basilica, and we didn't feel like venturing off to find other restaurants. Tourist trap, indeed. The service was fairly quick and the wait staff was friendly. We ordered a margarita pizza (9€) and a lasagna (14€) to share. The pizza was a good size for sharing, however the lasagna was not. Both weren't anything special. Not amazing, but definitely not terrible. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend? Not really. If you really want food at that very second, then sure. Otherwise, I'd suggest just walking around the area. You're bound to find something better. read more

Ok. This was our first dinner in Venice and it was absolutely disappointing!! Hate to say... It is located in a prime spot, of course, for all the tourists walking by ("tourist trap" and yes we were a victim haha) right by Piazza San Marco. I know sometimes you find good restaurants to go to when traveling but if you've been walking around all day and you get hungry, you want to go somewhere close. In all of Italy there are always people outside their restaurants with menus telling you to come in and how great their food is. We looked at the menu, I knew I wanted to try the squid ink pasta, saw a decent amount of people eating here, so we went in. The guy standing outside with the menu was friendly, the service we got once we were seated was less than mediocre. Every single dish my family got was so underwhelming. My squid ink pasta was so dry, didn't have much flavor and same goes for every other dish. My dad's seafood pasta barely had any flavor to it, they didn't give him an extra bowl to put his empty shells like every other restaurant in Italy did when we ordered seafood pasta. The complimentary bread was worse than Costco dinner rolls. The worst part? It's not cheap! Totally not worth our money. Super friendly server convinced us to give this place a try. I was weary that a restaurant right in the Plaza de San Marco might be too touristy, but we gave it a shot. It was raining, and the place was packed. Our waiter greeted us with a complementary bellini for each of us, which was a nice touch. The wine was great. The pasta dishes and the meat were very good too. At the end of our meal we got a free limoncello. The service and the complementary drinks made us feel appreciated. The food was good. I would give 2.5 if I could, but it definitely is not 3 stars. The location is prime, right outside St. Marco, and we wanted outdoor seating. Initially the service was great, friendly, and seemed genuine. As time passed, we noticed the attentiveness faded. A party of 4 of Italians were seated next to us, about 15 minutes later, and they obviously received better service; their food also came out before ours. We ordered a bottle of wine, overpriced for sure, the scallop appetizer, and two pastas. The scallops were too fishy for me, okay for my husband. Pastas were okay, and both were a large enough portion for dinner. Our bill with service charge was 75 euros. What really disappointed us was the server's mention of a tip, which is obviously not customary or even needed with the service charge. We were hustled earlier in the day at another restaurant and were just put off by the entitlement. As Americans we felt we were targeted as dummies, and we certainly are not the most cultured tourists. This place is just what has been said before, overpriced, tourist trap. Ordered a carbonara and their house red wine (ordered a sweet one, not the dry one). The pasta was great. The red wine was a little too sweet and tasted like grape juice. This place is garbage. Complete tourist trap. We came here, ordered the cheese board, lasagna, and a penne dish. We were basically forced to order wine (after declining the first server we had) which turned out to be 26 euros. The cheese board was awful! They all tasted the same and one of the cheeses was clearly left out because it was getting hard. The pasta was a little better, but I truly could have made it all at home with ease. Very disappointed. Our meal was almost 100 usd for 2 people and not even close to being worth it. Not to mention the incredibly loud and rude people at the wine bar next door who were screaming and laughing so loud that the whole restaurant was giving them the evil eye. Please avoid. This was the only restaurant in all the places we dined at in Italy that was terrible in every respect. I'm referring to order error, server nastiness/rudeness, portion size, cold food, overpriced and their unwillingness to correct their errors when they served the wrong dish. My wife and I approached the restaurant and saw people dining outside. We saw a customer being served a shrimp dish that looked good, but the customer returned it. I don't know why, but we should have taken caution at that time and just walked on by. As my wife and I were being seated, I asked the manager outside what was the name of the dish that was just returned. After he told me, I said I want the same shrimp with polenta dish, but not the one that was just returned. He said of course you will get a fresh serving. Much to my unpleasant surprise I was served a completely different dish from what I ordered, and as far as I was concerned it was the return of the last customer cut up to hide the re-use of the returned food. This was obvious because the shrimp was supposed to be whole but what they served was shrimp cut up into pieces. (Not what I ordered and half the portion size of the returned dish). Then to add insult to injury, when I brought the problem to the server's attention, he started yelling at me in a disrespectful and arrogant manner, and lied by saying that was what I ordered. I called the manager over to resolve the problem and he agreed with me that it wasn't the correct dish. The manager told the server to replace the dish with the correct one but when it arrived, there were only a few small shrimp on the plate (now about a quarter of the original dish) along with an ice cold polenta cake that must have come from the returned order. They didn't ever have the courtesy of heating it back up. They were obviously sending a message that they don't care at all about their customers. This was the worst dining experience we have had in our 50 years of marriage. My review is 100% accurate as is Sarah S. and Edon O. If you decide to go to this tourist trap restaurant, don't be surprised if you have a similar experience. read more

They have the BEST HOT CHOCOLATE ever!! However we were looking to sit down and relax when it was pouring outside and they tried to sit us.... OUTSIDE. We politely declined and said we were very cold so we will go to a less busy restaurant, they rolled their eyes at us and magically had an open table indoors for us. We only ordered hot chocolates and they just threw the tab at us and we're waiting for us to leave.. That hot chocolate was the best I've ever had which is why they get 3 stars..
