This spot came recommended by our local guide so ten of us made our way there after a full day of walking--damp air, tired feet, and ready appetites in tow. We stopped to check the menu outside and were promptly greeted by the server, who asked if we'd already looked at it. The tone carried a subtext--are you sure you can afford this?--which, given the menu prices (nothing much over €50 unless you get into the upper shelves of a not-so-local wine list), seemed a bit misplaced. Still, we were seated. Service was decent, the seafood pretty good, though something about the vibe felt off. The dining room inside was oddly quiet while the canopies outside had a fair share of guests. No real complaints, but it didn't quite hit the mark either. **Tourist Trap - Stay away from this restaurant" I was compelled to write a review here because of how bad this place is and a lot of tourists it seems get trapped in trying this place because of its location and the fact that the food is expensive (compared to other places) and thus must be good. I don't mind spending money for good quality food and thus tried this place but omg it's the worst place ever. You would get better quality food in take out places in Venice. I tried lobster linguine for €42 and there was barely any lobster in it. On top of that it was very salty. We also tried another pasta which was too salty to even eat. The pizza was the worst we had in our entire stay in Italy for 2 weeks. I can't stress enough how bad the food is here and on top of that how expensive they have kept the prices. Service is very average and the waiters dont know how to smile and would likely spoil whatever good mood you had during your vacation. Ambience is fine but you can find it at so many other places with 5x better food quality and 5x better service where the waiter would be happy to serve you vs being annoyed at his miserable life it seemed like. read more

2.125-0.650 stars for disingenuous shenanigans at the very end by a very clueless waiter= 1.475 stars rounded down. Acquapazza was one of the most disappointing meals we had on our epic two week France/ Italy trip. Our travel agent booked this weeks in advance and we were excited to go. It is in San Marco square with a large area with four large tents put together. Very cool atmosphere. The food was actually decent probably around 4 stars. We had a fried appetizer medley, squash blossoms, and a pasta with seafood dish and a Neapolitan style pizza. Again decent food, nothing extremely memorable. So why the low rating? The service was the worst I have experienced in a long time. It seems to be family owned with an older lady in glasses and her younger look-alike (daughter?) running the show. They seemed apathetic, were rude to other customers, and basically shooed another lady away. At the table next to us, the daughter was coming to take the order from a very nice family who had sat down for a few minutes. They attempted to order drinks and apps and wanted dinner after she said it was not possible and they would have to order all at once because they "do not do it that way". The poor family had to rush to make a decision as she gave them no choice. Very brusque and terrible attitude. With multiple tables empty, we saw another couple walk up to ask for a table. The daughter owner offered them a central table and the would-be customer asked for a periphery table because she said she gets hot. The owner said no basically but in the rudest possible way. Instead of saying "oh, unfortunately those tables are committed, but let's walk over to see what the climate is centrally, it's very nice!" Or trying to be empathic that there was no space, she said basically no and f*** off. She told the lady to come back tomorrow to which the customer said she was leaving Venice the next day. The response from the owner was ok well maybe on your next trip in a voice dripping with passive aggressiveness. As far as our service, no one checked in, no one seemed to be happy we were there, and we were also rushed to make a decision on the entire meal at once. The other waiters and employees had similar attitudes as the culture at this restaurant is disgusting. They all seemed to be disgusted at tourists (90% of the old Venice islands is tourists, btw) The poor treatment of us and other customers made us not enjoy this night. Please do yourself a favor and stay away. Maybe take away if they do that would be ok but this restaurant is resting on a prior reputation perhaps? I have no idea how you can treat the customers who pay your bills and butter your bread like this. Oh, also at the end when our bill came out and we were to pay, the assistant waiter who basically had no interaction with us told us service was not included and that I should leave a tip, a total lie. As you guys probably know, service is included in the vast majority of European restaurants into the menu price and tips are to be made for exceptional service, but never expected. They are well paid for their work and menu prices are about 20% above what they would be in the US to account for this. Salt in the wound. I told him no extra tip. read more

READ...First trip to Venice and place was recommended by a travel agent, Sat inside by a very un-friendly gentleman. Place was clean, but prices were on the HIGH side. OK, I get it 'when in Venice......'. Our waiter turned out to be the "un-friendly gentleman ". We felt rushed to order our bottle of wine €70,00. 4 of us ordered entrées and they were OK. Not as good as the prices reflected. But... one entree never came out, we were having a good time and didn't question it until everyone was finished. When we questioned the mgr he said 'it was done, would we like to have it now?" What? Then the waiter came over and asked if we were ready. We questioned 'it's probably cold, he said they would put it back in the oven. Again What? We said just take it off the bill, he reluctantly gave in. Bottom line for us....they recognized we were Tourists, and didn't care. OK, I don't care either about your overpriced, tourist scamming restaurant. Read this and STAY-AWAY . 4th Venice visit, tried this place based on Yelp reviews. Food was very good. Starter, main, dessert: all good. Service was nonexistent. We were 1 of only 2 tables seated about the same time in the dining room. The other table was serviced 9x. We gave our order & never saw a server until our food was served or plates removed. I asked for a glass of wine, they never brought it but charged me for 3 glasses. I brought it to the lead attendant's attention & she quickly made it right on the bill. Food was great but 160 Euros for 2 persons with 1 glass of wine is too much. Try somewhere else. read more

Food was fair and gets three stars for taste. The setting was very comfortable that gets four stars. The service was DEPLORABLE. That gets negative stars. Head waiter was arrogant and rude. We were rushed through dinner. Waiters came over to pull our plates away BEFORE we were finished. Wine recommendation was good but overpriced and Mr arrogant seemed annoyed with even discussing the list. This place was within a stones throw from our hotel. We walked by a few times and said multiple times we should try it. We stopped for lunch on a sunny day, sat outside and from start (with the arancini) to finish it was amazing. The service was nice, polite, and Italian quick :). There is a charge for only ordering one item, but it is worth I because the pizza is good. We had a spritz that was quite refreshing and our favorite Venician drink. We also tried a strawberrychello. Went to Venice earlier this week, and had dinner at this restaurant. It was our second time here, and we made it a point to come back. They have a great outdoor seating area, and even though it was raining, it was great being able to sit outside. After ordering drinks, the restaurant brought out some small snack items. This included bruschetta, a small dough item with some ricotta cheese, and one other item that i just cannot remember. All of them were good, and started the meal off on the right note. For starters, we ordered some calamari, and some mozzarella & tomato salad. The salad was good, and we really enjoyed it with the aged balsamic that they brought to the table. The calamari was just amazing... grilled to perfection, and so fresh. There was no need to mask the flavor at all... a little bit of salt and some lemon juice. For the main course, we ordered some fish... grilled snapper for two, a smaller snapper with the lemon sauce for me, and some pasta for the wife. All of the food was great. I love lemon sauce, and kept reaching for the bread to soak up the bottom of the plate. Everything was great, and i would highly recommend the restaurant. Keep in mind that the restaurant is not in-expensive (however, food is one place i don't mind splurging)... and the after dinner drinks that they bring to the table are not for free. But knowing that before you go is helpful, as it helps prepare you for the incredible food... and not worry about everything else. read more

Had lunch there with my wife on a Monday. The prices are high, but it's worth every penny. I started with Parma ham and cantaloupe. There was a mountain of wonderful shaved ham and the cantaloupe was ripe and succulent. Both were served on a bed of radicchio which added the perfect contrast to the sweet melon and salty ham. My wife had a mista salad, which was simple, crisp, and fresh. We split a salami pizza, which was beautifully done. All in all, a perfect lunch in a beautiful courtyard. read more

Very good if expensive food. The owner is from Naples and the food is from that region. He can be a bit deceiving as when he offers some lemoncello after dinner. He is not being nice, he is charging you for it. Luckily all of the food is good, the fish is great and the lemoncello was a great way to end the meal. read more

Incredible eating experience. I have traveled all over Italy and this is a menu true to the South. Everything from grilled fish to lemon risotto to the antipasti were amazing. They also make their own bread and variations of limoncello. My favorite was the meloncello. I will definitely go back to this one!! read more

We did not eat here, because even though dress said casual - we were snubbed quite obviously and told that trousers were required for men and my husband had shorts on. Great find in a quiet piazza! Food was excellent, service was superb, and this place gave us bonus free homemade liqueur and biscotti after every meal even when we declined dessert. We went here three times because it was so good and such a nice place to people watch. It was one of the few places we went in Venice where the staff was willing to let me actually practice my Italian. Most places, I would try earnestly to speak Italian and they would immediately hear my accent and start speaking (impatiently) in English. Here, they let me try and they made me feel like I was actually doing a half-way decent job at speaking Italian (even if maybe I wasn't lol). The service was perfect. There was always at least 3 people tending to us. And again, at the end of the meal they brought out delicious bottles of liquer. We were served an anise, limoncello, and aranciata liqueur. We highly recommend this place, especially for Venice where so much of the food is overpriced and mediocre. read more
