Great bar to hang out at that had music and a great roof top view! When it's busy I would wait to order a drink because it does take a while. So I recommend coming before it gets crowded or wait for a lul to order from the bar. The drinks a good and strong. I haven't tried to food but it looks appetizing

Papa Roach at Gallagher Square from Fairweather Bar.

Becky and I were staying nearby for the Padres Opening Day. We stayed Wednesday to Friday. While checking into our hotel the guy at desk asked if we were there for the concert. We did not know until then that Papa Roach with Rise Against were playing Gallagher Square (Park at the Park at Petco Park) that night. I don't like Papa Roach or Rise Against enough to buy a ticket, but I do like them enough to check it out for free. Fairweather Bar has a rooftop bar that looks right into Gallagher Square. I took the two block walk and headed up the stairs at Fairweather. It was pretty packed with freeloaders such as myself (I was easily the oldest person in the jont by a solid 25 years. LOL!), but I still was able to find a spot at the railing, all the seats were taken, so I stood for my first beer. For my second, a couple left and I snagged a seat. Service was prompt and the crowd was friendly. It was a lot of fun. While all of us were enjoying a free concert, Fairweather was taking advantage also. Gouging $14.50 for a pint of Modelo. Everybody was a winner!

This hidden spot is located right next to the baseball stadium. The night I went, there was actually a concert outside the stadium. From the outdoor terrace, you can get a pretty good view of the concert area if you don't have tickets - which is what most of the patrons that night were doing! I will say - it was very outdated and the prices were extremely high for the experience. You order at the bar then can pick any open table you see. The entrance is a bit odd as you have to go through an old Mexican restaurant to the back area and up an elevator by the freight entrance. It wasn't the cleanest either but I think if you want to see a free concert it's worth it, otherwise I would suggest looking elsewhere in the area for other rooftops.

The WORST nachos in world. Missing: guacamole.

I gave this place 2 stars because it's decent to watch the game for lively atmosphere but the food will absolutely give you a bellyache. The service is AWFUL. I tried to order food at the bar and the guy said I couldn't but then someone behind me put in a food order with no issues with the other bartender. I did order a drink. It was meh. Our nachos were the WORST I've ever had. Absolutely disgusting. First off, who uses mozzarella cheese on nachos?! Secondly the guacamole was missing and that was the only reason why I wanted them. Third, THE SALSA WAS offensive. Just so bad. The hot dog was ok. They only gave us ketchup though so that was pretty BORING. The carne asada burrito tasted like SOAP. That was ALSO MISSING GUAC! if they were out, they should've told us. We had no idea what the issue was because we never once saw a server besides the food drop off. We had to go downstairs to order on our own to begin with. Unless you're 7 feet tall, you're not seeing much of the game unless you sit at the rails on the outside. The inner tables are nearly impossible to see because everyone stands.

Came here with friends when there was a Padres game and it was good time. Great view overlooking Petco Parks park in the park area. Was able to join the energy of the crowd attending the game which was nice. Food was surprisingly very good. I got the carne asada nachos and my friends got the fish ceviche and stuffed quesadilla. Flavor of the carne asada was great and so were the sauces they give you with it. Drinks were a different story. I got 4 espresso martinis in my time there and every single one of them tasted different and had a different presentation. The first and last ones were like only half full too which was tragic. Only one of them was actually really good. Somewhat same story with my friend's drinks. Think some bartending training or something may be a thing needed here for anything that's not a basic cocktail. Staff was friendly though overall. Would come back despite the drink inconsistency.

My husband and I came in for Super Bowl Sunday and went to the rooftop! It wasn't super busy, and the owner personally offered to go down stairs and get us drinks. He also gave us coupons for the next time we came! Super nice guy. Great service.

Great views and vibes. We ordered a margarita and non alcoholic beer, which was kinda pricey but given the view and free concert we couldn't complain. Definitely will return!

I was blessed that my realtor and friend thought about me when he had available tickets for the MLB Wild Card Series Game 1 between my San Diego Padres and the Atlanta Braves. Purchasing tickets from my friend allowed me to create another lifetime memory with my son as this was the second Padres postseason game we were blessed to attend. We decided to have an early dinner before the game at Fairweather Bar with my brother-in-law and another friend. Fairweather served a burrito that was the perfect meal before we cheered on our Padres. Fairweather is in downtown San Diego practically inside Petco Park. Best parking for this spot is Ace Parking 6th and K. It's actually adjacent to the ballpark a mere few steps away from one of entrances. Gallagher Square is separated by a fence across from the restaurant. It's just down an alley next to Eppig Brewing and you can easily see the Sempra Building. As you walk towards the main doors, there is a foyer with aged brick walls, distressed flooring, an old looking barrel, and a hanging iron fixture. Seeing that, you're a little surprised when the main dining and bar area are decorated with Spanish influences. There are Mexican/Spanish colors, a mural that gives off a Mexico vibe, multi-colored decor, and piñatas. Apparently Fairweather is two-story, but I didn't visit this area because it was packed. There was plenty of seating downstairs. Here you order from the bar, you're provided a number, and the staff brings out your food. Based on the Spanish vibe, you'd assume that Fairweather sells Mexican food and you'd be right. I would have never guessed they served this type of cuisine based on the name of the restaurant. The young lady behind the bar was professional, but her customer service did not stand out. My son and I decided to order the Surf 'N Turf burrito and an order of fries. The surf and turf burrito comes with steak, shrimp, fries, sour cream, and fillings (not sure what that is). Before the food came out, I thought the $17 price tag was steep, but it was a reasonable price once we got our burritos. The burritos were huge, they were packed with an ample amount of steak and shrimp, and the other components made for a tasty entree. The steak and shrimp were tender and the fries complimented everything, but my only complaint was that it was messy while you ate it. The order of fries came out hot, they were seasoned, and they went well with the provided burrito hot sauces. That meal was the perfect start to our Padres adventure. What made this Padres game a memorable one was our Padres beating the Braves in Game 1. Loved having this memory with my Boy and we had a great time enjoying a delicious meal before the game.

East Village "Hidden" Gem. I love stopping by here for a drink. They have wine, a decent beer selection as well as some strong cocktails. It a Has always puzzled me why so many places in San Diego do not have outdoor seating especially with the year long amazing weather. Fairweather has both outside seating AND an amazing view into Gallagher Square. When I have out of town guests, I enjoy bringing them back through the "secret" engtrance and having them come out into this nice little bar. It can get super packed, but when it is calmer we always enjoy chatting with the staff who is usually happy to have a convo. Food wise, I do like the chicken tenders and my BF craves the Carne Asada nachos from time to time. Decent snacks for a nice afternoon or evening in the open air watching all the festivities or enjoying the calm.

Location location location!!! I've really only experienced the rooftop bar hear but if you are a big baseball fan like me and for whatever reason are not located inside the stadium, THIS is the place to be. You don't have to deal with crazy lines or crowds to enjoy your drinks. Hang out, have an appetizer or two and feel like you are right there in Gallagher square. My husband and I love coming here for the atmosphere and meet new fellow baseball enthusiasts each time.

Hidden little gem with a rooftop bar overlooking Gallagher Square in Petco Park. The place was very odd, though. First was the argument in the hallway in front of the elevator with the manager and her boyfriend- it was aggressive and went on and on. Even when we walked past them to get to the elevator, they didn't stop. They just simmered down a little. Then the hallway to the rooftop deck was EXTREMELY odd - dark, dirty, with chipped paint and dust bunnies. You had to walk through this to get to the rooftop deck, bar and restaurant. Then, the prices. Ridiculous! It wasn't dust bunny and chipped paint prices, that's for sure! We were there at about 4:30pm, and it was $18 for Buffalo Wings - 6 wings, so it came to $3/wing. The wings were ok, but nothing I'd order again. I ordered a dirty Tanqueray martini, but almost gagged on it! It was straight gin! There was no olive juice or Vermouth. And on the way down, I noticed wallpaper peeling off the walls in several places downstairs. Wow! Just wow! And not in a good way. Oh, and the plumbing in the Womens room downstairs- the sink - needed plumbing attention.

When sitting outside at the bar/patio area, how good is the view to actually watch the game in progress?

If they are not playing the game on the screen in park in the park, not well. You cannot see inside to the field, only hear sounds. And fairweather has no TVs. So it depends if they are showing the game on the Jumbotron in the park. (Which I heard… Read more

I knew it was a speakeasy but he did not. I was trying to double-check on my phone that Craft & Commerce was the right restaurant its housed in (yes) when he tried to jet set off down the block "to keep looking" rather than listen to me. I yelled, "MOTHER!" by accident and then he did truly leave me hahaha. He resurfaced a few minutes later, and then we walked in. It was 5:15 at the time, so 15 minutes after opening. I had NO IDEA how popular this spot was, nor anything about its nation-wide reputation. I actually didn't know that until two days ago when a Yelp-friend at home here in Richmond, Virginia, exclaimed excitedly when I told her we stopped in. The host who greeted us was kind, informed us there had been a line to get in that day, but that they had one barrel left; we jumped on it of course. It was happy hour, so the first cocktail I ordered was dirt cheap at $9. It was the Imperial Hawaiian with gin, rum, lemon, pineapple, and orgeat. I really shouldn't have ordered a second drink after that one, but I did have the classic Saturn later on in the night and it was absurdly good! Definitely my favorite of the two. The moody tiki vibe was so cool and fun. They even had frogs you could play on the tables. We had some fun neighbors too, which livened up the experience even more. We had a great time and both walked out heavily buzzed. We were asleep by 8 that night, but it was worth it!

Once inside seating is first come first served so the place is insanely crowded with people trying to get drinks. Service is a little confusing as the waiters will come up to you with a menu asking for your order instead of an order at the bar type of thing. Once we actually got a seat things were okay. The menu is mostly rum drinks since this is a rum bar however since I'm not the biggest fan I ordered the only thing with tequila on the menu. My drink was actually really good, it was refreshing, not too sweet or strong at all. I just wish there would be more variety.
