Because "you don't have enough in your account so you'll have to ask the owner". Ask the owner for the funds from my own consigned items, but "it's unlikely he'll make an exception"? The shopping plaza this Madewell is located in gets very chaotic around the holidays, and parking, a normally already arduous task due to local drivers' sheer inaptitude, becomes even more of a struggle. Upon walking into this store, however, all the effort it took to get here became worth it. The interior is warm, well-kept, and welcoming. I found a pair of shoes that were already on sale for a great price. When I got to the checkout counter, I had the good fortune of interacting with a truly lovely saleswoman. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name. She greeted us with a genuinely warm smile, and was even nice enough to ask me if I was a student, which got me another 15% off the already discounted price! This level of customer service is what has brought me back to this location when I want something new from Madewell. Five stars.
