Most mass-market candles are made with toxic paraffin wax or some kind of "unknown" blend, while these are 100% soy. Noted candles lasts longer than almost any candle I've used, and their reed diffusers are excellent too. I bought a Winterberry diffuser at the end of November, and now it's mid-May and it still has a little less than half left. They also have a "bring back your used candle" program where you get a few dollars off your current purchase, which is a great way to reduce waste and help customers save money. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the pricing. The candles are quite expensive for the size: $44 for a 16 oz candle and $28 for an 8 oz. They're probably some of the most expensive candles I've purchased. That said, while I disagree with the pricing (event pricing too), I continue to shop here (not as often as I wish) because I don't buy candles unless I can smell them first, sand I've been coming here for over three years. You can try to get candles on-sale, but that is only at the end of the season to make room for new or returning scents. If you're looking for value in terms of quality, scent, and burn time, you'll find it here. You can tell a ton of love goes into this shop.

They sell an array of very reasonably priced goods: clothes, outerwear, purses, totes, jewelry, knick-knacks. I think it would be pretty easy to find something pretty and fun for people on the average holiday shopping list. There are plenty of gift ideas for stocking stuffers too as well as items that might be nice as hostess gifts. I bought two "evil eye" necklaces here...one for me and one as a gift. The woman running the store was a sweetheart, chatting with us and offering help. They do gift wrapping here which is a plus. I plan to return next week to see if they have any additional items that might help me tick off a couple of more things on my holiday shopping list. It is definitely worth a visit. And if you haven't visited downtown Hingham, I think it's always a treat to do so.

I then asked to speak to the manager, and I was placed on hold once again for over 10 minutes. I explained to Jessica the manager that I don't live close by and it would be an inconvenience she still said they couldn't do anything about it and I would have to come back into the store for my refund. The staff here is very nice. They are very attentive and know the customers who need help and the ones who are regulars. I usually buy unique gifts for family and friends when I travel - things that have special sayings, wall hangings, something funny or gifts for special occasions etc. But I have seen every time there is an emergency and I want something just as unique and thoughtful and obviously, I don't have a stock of those kind of travel gifts, I come here. And more often than not I find something. Not to forget the holiday and seasonal cards' selection I find in this store, it is nearly impossible to get pretty much anywhere else unless you are ordering in bulk - online. But these are some of the things I still love to do in store rather than sticking to the convenience of the digital world that we all live in these days... Another thing I realized recently. While we have many a Papyrus stores all over in Boston, (and for some reason i am not a big Papyrus fan), Hallmark doesn't have too many stores around. I am glad this one is not too far from me.

A lot of the merchandise does center around "paper" like cards, gift wrapping accessories and stationery. However that turns out to be just the tip of the iceberg. Some of the other things they have include Vera Bradley merchandise, costume jewelry, the very fun Alex & Ani bracelet collection, some women's clothing, candles, children's toys, books, local Massachusetts items, home decor like Mariposa and plenty of other things that can be attention grabbers. It's crazy how I can get myself caught up in here looking around. It's hard not to find a little something to buy myself or something as a fun gift for a friend. Ironically I suppose, I don't love the card selection as they Hallmark which are not my favorite. Last year I purchased a Vera Bradley carry-on tote for a trip I was taking. It's a travel bag I've come to love. Not only is it pretty (VB fabrics can be really eye-catching) but I can fit so many things into it and because it's "soft-sided" it's easy to stuff into an overhead bin on a plane or even under the seat. Contrary to another review which said returns are difficult, I found it quite easy to exchange an Alex & Ani bracelet I received at Christmas. I had gotten two of the same bracelet and they happily let me pick out another even without having a receipt. If you sign up for their rewards program, you will regularly receive coupons and a special treat in your birthday month. Nothing too precious here, just some happy shopping in a large, clean, friendly store.
