Great venue for events! Was just there for an event and it was spacious. Parking is great! Wish it had more tables though.

This review is for a wedding, much of which was designed, staffed and supplied by the bride's family, not the venue Nevertheless, despite being located in a rundown area, surrounded by abandoned buildings, this biz offers a magnificent space, can accommodate 500 easily (we had 320). The owner and management are very willing to, and capable of, working with you on every aspect of your event. We bussed in and bussed home at 3am. Great job! read more

STAY AWAY. Would give zero stars if I could. From the beginning, communication was terrible. The original manager messed up our first appointment. When the owner finally let us in we were left in a loft for 40 minutes until we finally left. We were promised free uplighting if we decided to book. The space itself is beautiful so we sucked it up. We only found out there was a new manager because we received a bill and when we said we had spoken to the manager they told us there was someone new (there wasn't until about 2 months before our wedding). No one at the venue communicates to one another and we were consistently repeating ourselves. So...day of the wedding. We had paid for lights and draping through another company. They had a Friday wedding and Sunday wedding and left the lights up so the other company that came in wouldn't have redo them....so we paid and had different lights. P.S., the free uplighting we received...I asked for white and they gave us blue...our colors were pink and white. The rooms were FILTHY. And even though we asked the manager, Brianne, to have them cleaned, they weren't. My husband dropped a check off at the venue earlier in the week and walked through spaces to take pictures with Brianne. We decide we want to take pictures in front of a red door. DAY OF THE WEDDING WHEN WE GO TO TAKE THE PICTURE Brianne discovers that red door doesn't open. They had promised to have hanging lanterns that were not there. There were 1/4 of the amount of tables for the cocktail hour. And every table in the venue was dirty. Not kind of dirty but spilled drinks and flowers. My family and caterer were left to clean up. Also day of, Brianne schedule meetings to show the venue to other people. Two white wines were chosen for our open bar. They only had one and it wasn't one we had chosen. The list goes on. And since then, every effort to contact the venue and fix the situation has been fruitless. They accused our guests of drinking too much (1/3 of the guests don't drink) and have not offered any remedy. So, while the space is beautiful, it is most definitely not worth the headache or the money. Spend the money on a venue that does GOOD business. read more

I got married at Factory220 in August 2019, so this review is late. But I feel that it's important to this business because there are some weird negative reviews here that I do not agree with! We must have looked at every raw event space in the greater New York City area and couldn't find anything that was within our budget, especially when we factored in that we needed to bring in a kosher caterer. We were ready to accept that we weren't going to get the repurposed industrial feel we wanted for our wedding venue, when we stumbled onto the hidden gem of Factory 220. It is a huge space offering multiple areas including separate rooms for the cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception, and a massive guest suite/green room where you can get ready or just hang out behind the scenes. Unlike most raw spaces that offer you little more than four bare walls and empty space, Factory 220 includes not only the gorgeous and unusual location but also tables, chairs, and a variety of other furniture if you need it. But the most incredible thing for us was their onsite kosher caterer. Of course you can bring in any other kind of caterer you want, but if kosher food is something you need, you will NEVER find a place with this aesthetic that comes with kosher food. And it was incredible food! The amount of cocktail hour dishes that you get in the standard catering contract is astounding, and there is a wide array of options and cuisines to choose from. From the BBQ and cornbread, to the grilled meat, the chicken and waffles, and the pasta bar, I didn't taste a single thing I didn't like. They even packed up all the leftovers for us at the end of the night, and my only complaint is that I couldn't finish them all. And let's not forget the incredibly helpful staff. Shamir and Ruti were always responsive to our calls and emails and always willing to go above and beyond to accommodate our requests. They let us do multiple walk throughs of the space during the planning process. Even after the event, they went out of the way to help when I realized I had lost my checkbook during the event, and they found it and mailed it back to us. We looked at over 25 venues when we were planning our wedding, so you can trust us when we say there is no place quite like Factory 220. read more

I just had my daughters wedding there on Oct 21st. The venue itself is very cool and different. I am writing this review because I think this place has the ability to be a great space but please beware. I had a contract but it wasn't carried out. I was charged $500 for a hostess which I didn't have, I was charged $250 for 2 bathroom attendants but there was only 1. The venue was filthy from the wedding the night before and although we made several requests to Brianne to have things cleaned and set up so we could decorate she never took care of it,(probably because she was busy showing the venue to 2 different groups of people for future events) my caterer ended up cleaning the tables and sweeping the floors so that it was clean before the guests arrived. I paid for a beer and wine open bar. I was contracted for 2 red and 2 white wines. They didn't even have the 2 types of white wines I had selected. All they had stocked for white was Moscato. They ran out of one of the reds during the cocktail hour, and the beer of choice was gone by 8 o'clock. The event person Brianne was unfazed or apologetic. The owner Shamir showed up finally around 8:30 and unlocked the storage to his restaurant to bring in some white wine and beer. I emailed the owner Shamir to discuss these issues 2 days after the wedding. With no response I left several emails over the course of the next 10 days. I did finally receive a phone call back but Shamir had no explanation as to why I was charged for a hostess and bathroom attendant which wasn't provided. As for the lack of alcohol he claims that my guests drank a lot. I think that's pretty hard to do when they didn't even start the night with a stocked bar or what I was contracted for. I was offered an apology and an invitation to have dinner at his restaurant but not a refund on the services I paid for and did not receive. It is a shame because it is such and awesome space. read more

Our daughter got married last night at Factory 220 and our entire experience from beginning to end was fantastic. The venue is urban-chic and the wedding was black tie. A lot of the pictures were taken outside with backdrop of old brick. The contrast between the black tie wedding attire and the urban setting will hopefully make for some great pictures...... The brides room was spacious and clean with big mirrors comfy couches and can accommodate a large bridal entourage. We were provided with a bridal attendant , Monserrat, who was quietly present throughout the evening to help us with anything we needed. The ceremony room is spacious and there were bar stools set up in the back rows so everyone could see. The aisle is relatively long and gives a good chance to enjoy the walk down the aisle. Both the ceremony room and the party room are former factory rooms with exposed beans and rustic wood floor. We chose to pay for a lighting package and uplighted all the rooms with lavender which made for more drama. I would say that upgrading with lighting is a must. I was told by many guests that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding. The food is creative and different and beautifully displayed. They really looked for ways to make the wedding more fun and different. For example, After the ceremony and before the bride and groom came out for their first dance, they suggested a salad bar instead of a plated appetizer. During that time there were also passed hors d'oeuvres. This was fun for our guests and gave us the extra time we needed for some last minute pictures. I highly recommend! The dessert was a buffet but they also had waiters walking around with plated desserts which was so nice for the people who didn't want to leave the table. The staff was fantastic to work with!! Didn't flinch when things changed last minute and made the day feel stress-free. Shamir, the owner was waiting for us at 6;30 in the morning to help us in with all of our stuff and was so pleasant until the last minute as he brought down bags and bags of food for all to take home after the party. Oh goodness where do I begin? If it weren't for waiting over a month for 2 measly checks, sending more than 4 messages, leaving a voicemail, getting paid less than Shamir and I had discussed, and Shamir not taking any responsibility for writing my address completely wrong , and wanting to warn any future people who decide to take a "job" from this business I would not have wrote a review. This is coming from a former employee's perspective and I am more than glad I cut my ties earlier than later as this was a filler "job" until I got situated with companies that actually pay their workers a decent wage. What does not make sense to me is if you're making thousands on an event but pay your workers who help make the event run smoothly laughable wages. Paying $8 and change for a server that does not make tips is absurd and bartenders $10-$12 hourly who do not make tips at ANY events is insane. Of course Shamir hires you with the impression that you will be tipped. Making $4 tips at an event is not considered tips. I was a bartender for Factory220 but it is connected to Great Bistro Lounge and boy do they want to work you for all they can get. We had to bring 24count packages of soda (multiple) from the 1st floor to our bars up several flights of stairs, set up and breakdown these huge movable bars and move them to a different location, wipe and set up often hundreds of glasses, and often these events would be 400+people with no tips lol. He also does not like to respond to messages until I told him I would get the labor board involved for less than $200 that was owed to me, he also paid a lower hourly than we had discussed. lol How low can you get? Your cups and utensils are more than likely filthy as they are never cleaned correctly and often have leftover food residue, lipstick stains, and god knows what other bodily fluids, but are simply wiped down as we are instructed to do. I also saw servers drop utensils on the filthy floor , pick them up, and wipe them to be set on the table you eat from. Many of the employees were highschool age and berated by guests who felt entitled and on more than one occasion I had brought this to the attention of Shamir or another supervisor. A girl I was going to start a shift with was yelled at as if she was not a sentient being all because her black shirt was not a collared top. There is a way to speak to individuals that does not involve being disrespectful. Luckily she was smart enough not to work for Factory220/Great Bistro and I should have followed suit. There was also another girl who had not received her pay for a few weeks. This business is also located in such a rundown area surrounded by abandoned warehouses and not where I would want to invite guests for a wonderful, memorable, celebration but this is of course my opinion. Perhaps he mistook me for a fool but workers should be appreciated when without us, there would not be an event. read more

I personally would like to THANK Shamir and his staff for the EXCEPTIONAL Service we received and for assisting us with arranging the venue to Create an Amazing Memorable Event.
