Terrible beer. Terrible service. The server did not seem to care that we asked for the bill and clearly did not care for the beer. Will not return. read more

Five stars For ambience! I love their outdoor patio which is big and spacious. The inside is super trendy (the place use to be a bank). I'm surprised that dogs aren't allowed despite their logo being a dog/wolf face. I find the food probably 3 1/2 stars. But overall decent beer food. I'm a big sour beer drinker and find that their sour beer is great. It's sour and tangy without being too sweet. I hear their sangria is also very good! My boyfriend rates their beer 4/5 which averages out to 4 stars considering ambiance and food read more

I could really go either way with this one. It left me feeling like I might go back if I were in town but I wouldn't make a trip to go return. The space is pretty, with a nice large bar which we sat at, high ceilings and beautiful accent wallpaper. There was an abundance of fake greenery hanging everywhere which I found tacky. The furnishings left alot to be desired with small tables and chairs that looked like something in a kindergarten classroom, but it was clean and wide open. I ordered a "new fashioned" which used maple syrup and walnut bitters. It was good but very carefully measured: Small drink/big price. My partner got a black and tan which was good. We started with fried pickles. Took about 20 minutes to get them and it wasn't busy around 2:30 pm. on a Saturday. They were good and crisp like they should be, not slimy and soggy. The batter was very plain and could've used spice. There was a spicy mayo for dipping- except I hate mayo so I requested some buttermilk ranch for dipping. I barely used any of the 3 tablespoons they gave me and I Found out later they charged me $1 for that, which I find so very cheap! We couldn't decide what to order so we split a roast beef sandwich and ordered a steak and potatoes pizza. The sandwich was good but had extremely rare beef -so be warned if you don't like that. The fries were good and hot with a lot of salt. The pizza was not huge (if that was the only thing you were splitting or with a group) and very heavy with grainy off-putting mashed potatoes and very little steak. The caramelized onions made it much better but adding more meat would have made a difference, especially at a price point of $22. We each had a slice and took the rest home as we were full from the sandwich. I would not order either of those items again but there were some interesting items I would try if I were to go back. read more

Giving this 4 stars bc they're mainly operating as a brewery- the beer that I tried is great. The ambiance is playful. Lots of bar seating, space, and booth seating. I wouldn't come here just for food, however. The food served was underwhelming. Come for drinks and meeting with friends. read more

New fav spot in malden area to grab beers and food. If you're into Sour beers definitely try their pink guava mahalo. It also comes in a can so you can take it home for extra indulgence. Since this place is fairly new they keep growing their food menu to keep it exciting. Fun fact- This place used to be a bank where one of the first bank robbery in the nation took place. Parking can be tough since there are limited spots on the street so better to uber over. Their pretzels are a must try! Customer service is average. read more

Let me start off by saying the beer, food, and service was great. The design of the space is beautiful and refreshing. However, the music was incredibly loud. Like night club loud. We could barely hear the host when we walked in. I realize it was a Saturday night, but we're not in downtown Boston. Our server was attentive and very nice. We asked her if the music could be turned down, she said she'd ask, but the manager probably wouldn't do it. We asked her how she felt about the music level and she said she hated it. Pale ale, and west coast IPA were solid. Falafel sand which was incredible. Turn the dang music down! Sincerely, Your regular geriatric millennial read more

We have been here a few times and every time has been excellent. Most recently, we came with the toddlers and our new baby. They have really comfortable booth/chair seating, which is an upgrade from a year ago. The beer was delicious (Malden Country Club, Miami Ferrari, and the pumpkin beer) and comes in either 5oz pours or full size. The brunch menu was SO delicious. Creative breakfast sandwiches (breakdance and maple bacon sandwich) and donuts were the stars for us. Staff was really friendly and accommodating to our young family. Thank you!! read more

Cute outdoor beer garden. Happy to see something like this open in Malden. Tried a couple of IPAs and had the pretzels. Can't pass up melted cheese. Will definitely be back! read more

This establishment violated my civil rights ( protected class) a female employee questioned me for using my cell phone. I responded I can use my cell phone whenever I desire. Do you pay my phone bill? The Owner Daniel A. Martignetti sided with his employee and put his hand in my person space when I picked up my phone because he refused to give me his name to file a complaint. He snatched my beverage and stated you're not welcomed here ... like how people use to address people of color back in 1950's to get the f@@k out. I called the police and filed a report and seeking legal advice. I will never support a business that does not respect your freedom and civil rights! This location would not rate even 1 star. I had no option. read more

Love that Faces is a craft brewery that has multiple non-IPA options, and that they have a full food menu. I ordered one each of the hefe and the ESB, and very much enjoyed them both. The ambiance is cool without being forced, the noise level gave a buzz but was not overly loud, and our server was attentive and friendly without being overly doting. I had the Sopressata pizza and asked for it a little extra crispy, and it was perfectly cooked to order. read more

Enjoyed the beer garden on Wednesday. Great beer selection and they also have wine and a full bar. It's gorgeous and spacious inside. Luke was our waiter and he was so nice! Food was awesome too! We enjoyed the pretzels, chicken sando and the Margherita pizza. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area or you enjoy breweries!! read more

Always enjoy going to this brewery. Good service, decent beer and food. Nice to have all 3 when wanting a good cold draft.

Visited Faces Brewing on Sunday, June 14th. Food and beers were EXCELLENT! Highly recommend this place. COVID-19 precautions in place - very clean outdoor space. Even though the inside is closed for now, walking in to use the bathroom, you can tell the place used to be an old bank. Very cool decor and architecture! Will be back for sure! read more

I would give it a higher rating but the music was too loud and I couldn't her my wife talking to me. Beera are ok . Food is good but the music will make you go deaf. read more

It's a beautiful spot and the beer list and menu look impressive. Despite their logo being DOG or wolf faces, we were told by the hostess (whose tone was incredibly short with us and who wouldn't let us finish asking about the wait before interrupting to tell us that the dog "can't come in here") that the owner would have to approve our service animal for which we had all the proper documentation in order to sit outside at a picnic table in the Beer Garden area in the back. I have never seen a Beer Garden that doesn't allow dogs, but fine, we understand the proper permits need to exist. However, we have never been spoken to so condescendingly about our service animal when you could cheerfully provide the information and not make it a big deal. With a pandemic going on it's easy to be selective about which businesses to give your money to, and we won't be spending ours here. read more

Never Ever Again, First I want to say I went there with a friend, after I saw it on the Phantom Gourmet. And I'm revealing our ages used to go to the Original Faces on Rte 2. We lucked out with a parking spot in the public parking. The place was nice, loved the chandler lights, they stood out other than that nothing else. The bartender she was very nice. We ordered to cocktails and they were good. And then ordered the Margarita Pizza and the Cheese Steak. Both were AWESOME!! Unfortunately things went down hill very quickly. I picked out a pack of their beer and wanted to buy it. My friend tried to wave down our bartender to close our our tab and make this purchase and this young man came to us and said I'm not a dog, who do you think you are clicking your fingers at me. And some very vulgar words that I can't repeat. We both were in shock, as we only wanted to get our bartender. The place was not busy at all. And our bartender, and this other bartender and the hostess were all present at the far end of the bar. Not sure why our bartender who was waiting on us didn't just come forward. As things wouldn't have turned out the way they did. It was so upsetting to my friend and I that we asked for the manager. And the owner Anthony came out, never said who he was. All he did was say that what was said to us was exactly what he would have done. And he walked away. We both were in shock to be treated like this. I asked who he was and was told he was the owner. I've never been treated like this. I will never go back there again sadly. Anthony and his bartender should be ashamed of themselves and that's putting it lightly. I've never ever made a comment on dining, but had to this time. So all you beware waving down a server in any fashion is considered out of line!! And my dear friend who was a server for over 30 years for Legal Seafood, and was the one trying to get someone's atttention, said that would never have taken place on her watch at Legals. I hope that this educates everyone! c read more

After months of being curious, we finally went to Faces over the weekend (on Saturday). Food, beers, and the decorations were all great. However, I will not be going back for a quite a while, and the reason is because the music was SO. LOUD. (I see that another review commented on the same thing, too - looks like from the same night). My huge concern is that loud music = people have to shout = Covid can spread more easily. Yes, the tables were spaced kind of far apart (although there were still a lot of people in there), but I spent the entire time concerned for my health and safety, and the beers just aren't worth it. (And, despite having a heated patio and it being a nice, sunny day in the 50s, the patio wasn't open for some reason so we had to sit inside). I liked it but I won't be back until either the patio is guaranteed open and/or covid isn't as much of an issue. Sorry for being a bummer :/ read more

Absolutely love Faces! Great place to grab a drink and snack. Fried pickles and breadsticks are amazing. Love the super thin pickles and the sauce is so good. The cheese with the pretzels should be sold by the bottle. I've only had the Progression IPA because I love it and never try anything else but many of my friends have enjoyed the other beers. Pizzas are also delicious. Thin crust and perfect amount of toppings. A must try place! Large outdoor seating, mostly sunny. Brunch on the weekends. So happy you are here welcome to Malden. read more

Went here with my wife on a Friday evening. We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer and had a few drinks. Approximately 40 minutes later we ordered some entrees because the appetizer hadn't arrived and the kitchen was clearly slow. 80 minutes later our entrees arrived and they were mediocre. Fried pickles never showed up. Server was inattentive at best. Better options available in the area and I recommend spending your money elsewhere. read more

One star for service. My wife and I sat in the outdoor patio, which is very nice. I had a beer (good) and she had a spiced pear sangria (excellent) and we ordered pretzels. After more than a 30 minute wait, I asked the bartender about the food order. He told me he would check on it with the manager. At least 15 minutes later, the pretzels arrived without explanation. We were planning to order more drinks and a couple of sandwiches, but after waiting approximately 50 minutes with no apology nor explanation, we decided to leave. On the way out, I made a complaint to one of the owners. He laughed, argued with me that it was not an hour (technically true, BUT not the point), asked me how it was when it finally arrived (it was good). I had to ask for an explanation; seems our original order went to the wrong table. He offered to comp us for the pretzel. I know that a late pretzel is a minor problem, BUT it is a reflection on the their level of service. My points: 1)We would have stayed for more drinks and food IF a manager or owner simply came over to us with a simple apology and explanation WITHOUT me needing to ask what happened - that would have been preferred over being comped for the pretzel. It's called customer service. 2)Don't laugh at your customers. 3)Don't argue with your customers. 4)Be proactive with your customer service. 5)Respect your customers. We were still hungry and thirsty so we went to Winter Hill Brewing and spent $60 there. Good beer, great food (BBQ) and excellent customer service. Why should I ever go back to Faces?? read more

Went here last night, was hoping for outdoor seating, but this is just for the weekends. The building that they chose is beautiful and the interior really complemented the outside. I live in Malden and, I said to the friend I was with "I am so surprised this place is in Malden!" Pleasantly surprised by how good the beer was (delicious kettle sour and hefeweizen). The food was serious delicious, had the haus pretzels, chicharrons, and a salad, all had their own individual flavors and style. Our waitress was very attentive, but really laid back, they people running the food were all really friendly and seemed genuinely interested in our experience. So happy that there are new places like this popping up in Malden Center, I will definitely be back soon! read more

Sat outside in their patio area which had plenty of clean and socially distanced picnic tables. Great variety of beers, tried an IPA, kiwi strawberry sour, coffee and Irish stouts--all very good! I will say that they have adapted very well to Covid restrictions so if that's your focus then no worries there. They have pretty good food, very good fries, and pretty good beer by brewery standards. The service is always pretty mediocre no offense to anyone who works there. It takes a pretty long time to get every drink after your first, to a point that can actually get a little outrageous. I normally stick to beer, as almost everything else on the menu is overpriced, especially considering the location. The whole place kind of feels like it's a part of the gentrification of downtown Malden and is a little out of place. The real reason that I'm giving it 2 stars though comes down to the prices. While they're hard liquor is already overpriced in cocktails, the price of their shots is legitimately beyond me. $16 for one shot of casamigos blows my mind. The bar across the street charges about $6 for the same shot and the bar around the corner charges $8 for the same shot. It's honestly shocking to me that they can charge such an ABSURD price for mediocre grade tequila especially in this location. If I was at a rooftop bar in Manhattan I wouldn't care I would accept that I'm paying for an experience and environment but that isn't the case here. It's completely absurd and they should absolutely have that price on the menu before ordering. read more

Been here several times now. All the food has been outstanding. Way better than one would expect from a brewery/brewpub type place - honestly it competes with some of the best spots in Boston. The Breakdance Sando (breakfast sandwich) for brunch and a salmon dish for dinner were probably my two favorites so far. Excellent beers too - I'm a huge fan of the Buongiorno Italian Pilsner. Cool space and good service. read more

Faces was all around amazing! I rally enjoyed the Nashville hot chicken and fried pickles! Sometimes breweries have great beer and then things like pretzels and pizza (which are awesome too) but this restaurants it all! A friend got a mixed drink and the garnishes were beautiful. It was Christmas in a glass! Service was awesome as well. Definitely check it out if you've never been. read more

Stopped in for dinner on Saturday, two adults and a teen. Place is cool but music is extremely loud, forget about having any type of conversation at the table without yelling, which is kind of strange because almost everyone there were middle aged adults, and not your typical Allston/Brighton sports bar college crowd that needs the blaring hip-hop background. Ordered chicken wings and poutine as appetizer. Both were delicious but portions are really small: 5 wings and a tiny skillet for poutine, maybe ok for one or two people at most, but far from enough if you're sharing. For the main course we ordered two burgers medium rare and a hot chicken sandwich. The latter was great, burgers were ok but definitely more on a well-done side. Brioche bun is a nice touch but why serve it cold? Can't be that hard to toast it! Still hungry, ordered a Margherita pizza and it was a meh. For dessert, we've got a brownie and it was absolutely delicious, quite possibly the highlight of the meal. Beer was fresh and delicious, too. Overall an ok place but could be much better. Also, for the money (total bill with tip was $180) I feel that you can get a much better value/experience elsewhere in the city, especially as places start opening back up. read more

The food here is unbelievable.. everything was fresh, high quality ingredients. Our whole table said, I can't remember the last time I had food this good. Beers are top notch a big variety of brewed beers, something for everyone. Can't wait to eat here again and enjoy some fresh brews. This place is a must try! read more

I enjoyed the beer here and the atmosphere is nice. The reason for two stars... the food was not great. The poutine came with a solid layer of cheese that I had to peeled off and eat the fries underneath. I also got the salmon BLT which was poorly seasoned and not flavorful. The bartender made me a drink I did not like not only did she not take it off the bill which they typically do when you don't finish an item or send it back she went over to other customers to speak poorly of the fact that I didn't like the drink. How did I know? They looked right at me as she was talking and point. She was also not happy that I didn't tip her well due to her poor service and refuse to speak to me the remainder of my time there, mind you I still tipped her! The food was greatly overpriced for the quality and service. When I asked her for the printed bill and the bartender didn't say a word to me. I will not be going back here and I wouldn't recommend. read more

This is a one star review for whoever the manager is on Friday and Saturday night-- turn the music down!!! The music was blaring and it made the whole experience awful because we kept asking our waiter to repeat herself and couldn't even hear friends at the table. We even asked her to ask the manager and clearly that person said no, which means they don't listen to their customers! Food and beer were great, but $170 was not worth losing frequency in my ears and screaming at my friends. Feels like managers are trying to make this a club but it's not, let's be real. If they turn it down 4-5 decibels it will make all the difference. read more

It's really bizarre for a restaurant not to do takeout. Especially since we're in a pandemic, I don't get why this is not an option for guests. Takeout should be available as it shows on Yelp and Google. read more

The place looks really cool, has a very limited menu that seems to try really hard to be upscale. The pork bellys, while tasty, was too much, not enough fat rendered of in the braising so it was like eating a stick of fat. The panini, was not a panini, it was a toasted sandwich, panini's are pressed flat. pizza was meh, wasnt awful but wasnt special at all. Tried two different beers, the first was a regular IPA, very peppery on the finish, 2nd was a double IPA that was much better. Was shocked at the price when all said and done, $200 for 4 of us getting a couple apps, a sandwich, and a pizza, plus drinks of coarse. read more
