Face Value is owned and operated by a husband-wife team. Their space is part of a multi-unit salon building. I bought a Living Social deal for three bikini waxes and a Groupon for a facial, and I must say, I was so pleased with all of my services! Julie and Todd are really down-to-earth, and they do such a great job of making their clients feel so comfortable. I'm completely sold! They are now my number one choice for waxes and skin services. During the second trimester of my pregnancy, my back was breaking out, which has never happened to me before. I went to Julie for a back treatment, and my skin has been clear ever since then! Their salon space is very clean, and I could definitely tell that they take precautions to make sure everything is sterile. Even if you are nervous about your first wax, I think you would find Julie and Todd very comforting and friendly. They act like it's no big deal, which is a great attitude to have, and it will put you right at ease. And ladies, don't be creeped out by the thought of a man doing your waxing. Superior service and care! I was always nervous about getting waxing and facial services as I had never had a professional wax and my skin was basically a "hot mess" However, thanks to Julie I never have to say that again! I bought a some coupon for a facial last summer and thought I'd try out not only a facial but this new place. I was a bit surprised when I first showed up not knowing the "set-up" of her salon. It's in a larger building with little, independent shops throughout. So, this establishment is seperate from the others. I guess it's a very European type concept which was pretty cool. The actual room/office was quite nice...very clean and comfortable. The facial was great - she did a great job explaining things to me but allowed me to enjoy the experience. Since then I've gone back for some waxing. I had a bikini wax done before my wedding and did a great job. I would go back for sure, and recommend her to anyone. Her rates are great too! read more

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for such a long time, they were always uneven, some spots were thicker and thinner in different areas. Finally I saw a place close to me that does eyebrows wax's. Soooooo.....I finally decide to muster the courage for the dreaded "Brazilian Wax." Prior to taking that step, I had sent out a mass email to all my girls to see if anyone had done it before and if they had any recommendations and or insight on how to better prepare myself. I reviewed the big chain spas and their pricing was out of the question....especially if you want to try something new like hair removal. I made my appointment and was pretty much nervous with anticipation.....I mean, so many women and men have this done, it can't possibly be THAT bad, right? I see this big building and realize that it's a buffet of independent business owners that specialize in beauty....great concept, one stop shop! I meet the very friendly, Julie, Business Owner, the Wonder Woman of Estheticians! Julie very quickly puts me at ease and answered all my questions. I felt I had known her for years...and this was within the first 2 minutes. Her salon is clean and she takes all the proper precautions to ensure cleanliness and safety. The waxing experience itself....wasn't that bad. Yes, there is some pain, but it goes very quickly that by the time you realize it, POOF....Smooth, Silky, Sexy Skin!! After a couple months of having the waxing services, I decide to treat myself to my spa days and incorporate facials. Julie has magic hands! Her facials are more relaxing to me than a back massage. My skin truly looks amazing. After I leave her salon, my skin feels tighter, my skin looks brighter, old acne scarring from my teen years are barely visible. In fact, I don't even have to wear as much makeup as before. The blemishes/scarring/dark spots are literally disappearing. My friends recently commented on how much younger I was looking and what was I doing differently. I have not changed my beauty products at all. Julie works with you and doesn't push her products on you which is fantastic. After I received the compliments, I did purchase the under eye cream and night crème. You only have to use a little bit and it goes a long way. I've had these creams for about 6 months and still have not had to replenish them. The products are very reasonably priced. This is the best and in my opinion, "the only" place for male waxing out here in the suburbs without question. The place is absolutely spotless, ultra clean and professional. Brazillians are not the most common male wax job, (and I have had a couple already) but hands down, this was the best experience I've had so date! I've rated the price ($$) value in a honest comparison to all the other waxing salons, but actually the real value is in the human factor and care demonstrated. No judgements, snide looks or attitude that I had encountered at other salons. - priceless - I live closer to the city but do the short drive out for my personal services! Clearly this one woman spa should not be offering Goupons that she can not fulfill. The Groupon expired March 22. I was told there were no appointments until the week of March 27. Then she finds out that I am using a Groupon and now she is filled up through the end of March. She tells me I can ask Groupon for a refund or use if towards future services. Really?? Why would I ever want to go somewhere that is not even professional enough to say..Yes I am over booked with these Groupons and the soonest I can get you in is such and such date. Instead I got a ..but I would be willing to honor it if you booked it for MAY! Wow! Umm what happened to April? What a joke! Julie is awesome and professional, especially with the more sensitive services like waxing. The studio is warm, welcoming clean and neat and not "clinical and cold" as some of the other waxing services in the area. I have been to another expensive waxing service provider where the client sits on a cold doctors exam table, no paper, just the cold table that is cleaned with Cavi wipes and you lie there with your bare legs to get waxed. Not so at face value, here you lie on a comfy reclining spa chair with a head rest and clean paper rolled out for each client and get a towel for your modesty.
