The trainers are great and understanding when I have an injury and a great at offering modifications when needed. I've lost body fat and increased my strength and lean mass. As someone with a heart condition I can tell you that your health and well-being are priceless and F45 helps keep me in n both departments! I love the strength workouts, the Saturday classes are a hybrid of cardio and strength, it's always a great way to start your weekend!

Monday, Wednesday, Friday are cardio days, Tuesday and Thursdays are resistance days and Saturday is the only hour long workout that is a combo of both. I love that all the workouts are functional meaning they resemble movements you do everyday. Just like an athlete trains for their sport, people should train for activities they do everyday like pushing, pulling, squatting and jumping rather than solely train isolated movements. One thing that really stands out to me about F45 is the individual attention each member receives from the trainers. They pay attention so that they can correct your form, challenge you and encourage you to give 110% every time. There's been countless times when Trainer Jane sees me slowing down and will get down on the ground and do the exercise with me all the way to the end. When I'm getting tired and think I'll just take it easy, Trainer Andrea levels me up and pushes me to my highest potential. I highly recommend getting the heart rate monitor because it really does motivate you during class to see how hard you're working. You also get workout reports at the end of each class emailed to you, so it's nice to see how you performed during class. They also offer the 8 Week Challenge 4 times throughout the year, which I highly recommend trying! Members and nonmembers can participate in the challenge. You will workout at F45, be given a nutrition guide and plenty of support throughout the 8 weeks and will be have your body composition taken every 2 weeks. I have never been able to make a difference in my body composition and after this challenge I was finally able to lose fat while gaining muscle!

I am working on starting a career in law enforcement and need to get into shape to pass the physical. Aside from that it would be great to be fit anyways. I have been having trouble keeping motivated on my own, and also lack the knowledge necessary for good results. My friends from my hometown always told me about crossfit, but I have always been a stubborn do it yourself-er. It took my fitness instructor from the police department telling me that crossfit is the absolute best way to get into shape. So I started looking. After about a month of looking around I found Crossfit Round Rock. I called Landon and got signed up a week later. I have been sore pretty much since then. In just one week, I have already learned so much, and I have to say I can definitely tell I am going to be addicted to the place very soon. Some of the great things about these guys, aside from how friendly they are and how fun they make the workouts, is they can tailor the workouts to any age or fitness level. Before every workout they go up to each of us individually and make sure we understand what we are doing, and make recommendations as to what weight to use, and also make changes to the exercise if your not capable of doing it entirely. They keep you focused and motivated the entire time, and refuse to let you quit. Aside from the workouts they have health seminars that go over the proper nutrition and help you to develop the proper diet to maximize your results. I was looking for a place that would put me through intense workouts that I'd never seen before, a place that held me accountable and kept me motivated, and ultimately a community of people all working towards their fitness goals. I found all of that and more at CFRR. My experience has been amazing. I'm on my fifth full month there going 3 times a week and have dropped 20 lbs and 10% body fat. The workouts are tough but rewarding. Crossfit brings out your competitive spirit which is a big part of my ability to stick with the program and push myself beyond my perceived personal limits . The coaches(Coach Mark especially) and other members are all really great people and it's just an extremely positive place to be. You don't just clock in and clock out like at a normal gym. You show up and compete, work your tail off with other members, set personal records, and then reflect on how you just owned or got owned by the workout of the day. I just can't say enough about it. Let me just say that Marcus and his staff couldn't be the more opposite! This gym is open and welcoming AND the COMMUNITY he's built and fostered here is second to none. The athletes are each others biggest cheerleaders and help get each other through every workout. The care and concern for his athletes, mentally and physically should be the standard ANY gym strives for. And he routinely has free, open days for people to come in and see what it's all about. After a hearty Texas BBQ lunch, I looked for a local CrossFit box to drop in on. I found CrossFit Hutto on Yelp and called ahead to see if I could attend a class. The man who answered the phone said his name was Lance and was very polite. He told me I could attend either the Friday 5pm and 6pm class. There would be a $20 drop in fee or I could attend the free Saturday morning class. I decided to take the Friday 6pm class because it's really hot in Texas right now and figured it would be cooler in the evening. Plus I have to leave early in the morning on Saturday to attend the retirement ceremony. I arrived at the facility about 15 minutes prior to class. I was immediately impressed with the size of the property. The 5pm class was still in session and people were hanging around. I walked up to the front counter and put my things down. There didn't seem to be any gym employees there to greet me or check me in. I stood around for a while waiting to be greeted. There were a couple guys sitting on the couches behind the counter on their phones. After a few minutes of standing around, I decided to just go stretch and warm up on my own. Once the 5pm class ended, one of the guys who was sitting around got up and called the 6pm class up to the front. I followed the crowd to the front where the coach said hi and began to check members in on the Wodify app. I told him I was dropping in and he had me fill out the waiver while he instructed the rest of the class on their warm up drills. While I was filling out the waiver, the woman who was coaching the 5pm class came over to say hi and apologized for not greeting me. I told her it was okay because I know how busy it can be. After signing the waiver, I jumped into the warm-up with the rest of the class. The coach was preparing us to do strict presses for the skill work. I partnered up with a man of similar height to me named Mo. He was very nice and showed me where things were. This proved to be the theme of the class as the coach didn't really interact with me or many of the members. I felt as if I was on my own. Luckily, I do CrossFit workouts regularly and am a Level One coach. During the strict presses, I gave my partner a couple tips and helped the ladies on the rack next to me. I made sure not to disrupt the coach's class but I felt obliged to help the ladies next to me. They thanked me and said the tips helped. Afterwards, the coach explained the WOD and did a quick demonstration. The WOD was fairly simple and was only a 10 minute AMRAP. When I was done, I high-fived the other members of the class. I put my equipment away and asked where the restroom was. When I returned a few minutes later, almost everyone was gone and the coach was already locking up. I thanked him for the class and told him my name since we didn't really get introduced properly. He told me his name was Randy and I followed outside so he could finish locking up. I made it a point to say hi to him since he never really greeted me. At my gym, we make it a habit to meet every new member or visitor and make them feel welcome. We always have them introduce themselves and share something about themself. So the fact that no one at CrossFit Hutto really took the time to get to know me was a little disappointing, but every CrossFit box is different. Overall, I'm glad I got a good workout in while on my trip. I wasn't charged a drop-in fee, so that was nice. I checked the clothing rack to see if I could buy a shirt to support them but they didn't have any men's shirts available. The facility was very nice and I liked how spacious it was as well as the cool Rogue barbells. My only recommendation would be for the staff to be more involved with greeting and checking in members and visitors. The whole time I was imagining if my mom had dropped in as a first timer and how no one would have helped her properly workout. In my opinion, that is a very important quality of a CrossFit gym. You can have all the new and fancy equipment available, but if your staff doesn't engage and teach the members properly, people get hurt or feel unengaged.

I was treated with complete disrespect by the front desk, and both owners also cussed at me instead of attempting to resolve my concerns professionally. I have phone records documenting these conversations, as they were angry that I wanted to cancel my membership. The problems didn't stop there. Multiple pieces of equipment were faulty, and the saunas frequently weren't even reaching the temperatures they advertise. Rather than taking responsibility or addressing legitimate concerns, management chose to become hostile and dismissive. The situation became so bad that I ultimately had to contact the police and my bank just to get my membership canceled. Even after all of that, I'm still disputing charges because they continued billing me. Melissa, Carmen, and the little man owner / Maintence man whose name starts with "D" were, in my experience, incredibly unprofessional. No customer should ever be yelled at, cursed at, or forced to involve law enforcement and their bank over a gym membership. Seriously, what the heck? There are plenty of fitness studios in the area that value their members and know how to treat people with basic respect. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

It matters that they call your name out when you're working hard. It means they see you and they care to pump you up and encourage you to keep going or to fix your form if it is off to avoid injuries and to make sure you get the best results. Buuuttt...you know there's a BUT, they've lost a gem of a coach and got replaced with one that is so-so. Don't get me wrong. Maybe because they're new or still getting the hang of things. But if you come in and introduce the exercises to a class without knowing what muscles are targeted by what exercise, or what the exercise is called, perhaps you might still need coaching yourself. And also the class is waiting on queues to get excited and encouraged still during the whole circuit which I don't hear or see from the new coach. Will I go back? Of course! But I'm hoping the coach will step it up and not just walk around but also encourage us as we're sweating and working hard. If the coach isn't excited to be there, it shows through their performance as well! ‍
