I took a trip to Texas for the weekend to visit family and attend a friend's Marine Corps retirement. I landed in Austin and stayed in Hutto with my mom. After a hearty Texas BBQ lunch, I looked for a local CrossFit box to drop in on. I found CrossFit Hutto on Yelp and called ahead to see if I could attend a class. The man who answered the phone said his name was Lance and was very polite. He told me I could attend either the Friday 5pm and 6pm class. There would be a $20 drop in fee or I could attend the free Saturday morning class. I decided to take the Friday 6pm class because it's really hot in Texas right now and figured it would be cooler in the evening. Plus I have to leave early in the morning on Saturday to attend the retirement ceremony. I arrived at the facility about 15 minutes prior to class. I was immediately impressed with the size of the property. The 5pm class was still in session and people were hanging around. I walked up to the front counter and put my things down. There didn't seem to be any gym employees there to greet me or check me in. I stood around for a while waiting to be greeted. There were a couple guys sitting on the couches behind the counter on their phones. After a few minutes of standing around, I decided to just go stretch and warm up on my own. Once the 5pm class ended, one of the guys who was sitting around got up and called the 6pm class up to the front. I followed the crowd to the front where the coach said hi and began to check members in on the Wodify app. I told him I was dropping in and he had me fill out the waiver while he instructed the rest of the class on their warm up drills. While I was filling out the waiver, the woman who was coaching the 5pm class came over to say hi and apologized for not greeting me. I told her it was okay because I know how busy it can be. After signing the waiver, I jumped into the warm-up with the rest of the class. The coach was preparing us to do strict presses for the skill work. I partnered up with a man of similar height to me named Mo. He was very nice and showed me where things were. This proved to be the theme of the class as the coach didn't really interact with me or many of the members. I felt as if I was on my own. Luckily, I do CrossFit workouts regularly and am a Level One coach. During the strict presses, I gave my partner a couple tips and helped the ladies on the rack next to me. I made sure not to disrupt the coach's class but I felt obliged to help the ladies next to me. They thanked me and said the tips helped. Afterwards, the coach explained the WOD and did a quick demonstration. The WOD was fairly simple and was only a 10 minute AMRAP. When I was done, I high-fived the other members of the class. I put my equipment away and asked where the restroom was. When I returned a few minutes later, almost everyone was gone and the coach was already locking up. I thanked him for the class and told him my name since we didn't really get introduced properly. He told me his name was Randy and I followed outside so he could finish locking up. I made it a point to say hi to him since he never really greeted me. At my gym, we make it a habit to meet every new member or visitor and make them feel welcome. We always have them introduce themselves and share something about themself. So the fact that no one at CrossFit Hutto really took the time to get to know me was a little disappointing, but every CrossFit box is different. Overall, I'm glad I got a good workout in while on my trip. I wasn't charged a drop-in fee, so that was nice. I checked the clothing rack to see if I could buy a shirt to support them but they didn't have any men's shirts available. The facility was very nice and I liked how spacious it was as well as the cool Rogue barbells. My only recommendation would be for the staff to be more involved with greeting and checking in members and visitors. The whole time I was imagining if my mom had dropped in as a first timer and how no one would have helped her properly workout. In my opinion, that is a very important quality of a CrossFit gym. You can have all the new and fancy equipment available, but if your staff doesn't engage and teach the members properly, people get hurt or feel unengaged.

I was visiting AF in Texas Round rock and, while the facility itself has potential, my experience…read moreraised serious concerns about fairness, communication, and overall professionalism. I was reminded by Sergi to return a farmer's rack to its proper place, which I understand and take responsibility for. Once it was explained, I made it clear that I would follow protocol moving forward. However, what I found unnecessary was the constant follow up through text messages. Even after acknowledging the issue and agreeing to correct it, I continued to receive a second reminder. At that point, it stopped feeling like a simple clarification and started to feel like harassment. On top of that, there is a larger issue with equipment access. There is only one Smith machine, and during my workout it was occupied for an extended period by a trainer and her group. When I raised the concern, I was told by Sergi that trainers have priority because their clients pay both a training fee and a membership. As a paying visitor, that was frustrating to hear. Whether someone is a member or a guest, everyone is paying to use the facility and should have reasonable access to equipment. First come first serve is understandable, but allowing one group to dominate a single high demand machine without rotation makes it difficult for others to complete their workouts. I was told I could ask to work in, which I will do next time, but there should also be some level of awareness and courtesy from trainers and their groups when using limited equipment. Additionally, the ladies made the environment extremely loud, which made it difficult to focus and train effectively. I am more than willing to respect gym policies, but I also expect clear, respectful communication and fair access to equipment in return. Hopefully Mr. Sergi takes a closer look at both how members are addressed and how shared space is managed, because the current approach does not reflect well on the gym.

I've always had positive experiences respectful staff, professional communication, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, that was not the case at this location. Today I forgot to re-rack a curl bar. I normally always re-rack my weights, but this time I genuinely forgot. As I was walking out, an employee stopped me and said, "Hey, is this you?" referencing the curl bar. I immediately apologized and told him it was my mistake. What made the situation uncomfortable was what happened next. He pulled up camera footage and proceeded to look me up in the system, mentioning that I was visiting from California. The speed and manner in which he accessed my information felt excessive and unnecessary for what was a simple oversight that I had already taken responsibility for. There's a professional way to handle situations like this a simple reminder would have been sufficient. Instead, the interaction felt investigative and awkward. I won't be returning to this location. Thankfully, I have access to a gym at my condo complex and won't need to deal with that kind of environment again. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled in the future, because it doesn't reflect the positive experiences I've had at other Anytime Fitness locations.

I've been a member here now for 4 years and I've taken over 325 classes. I took a year off in 2020…read moreduring Covid and took some recovery time from 2 heart surgeries but it always feels great to be back and I REALLY miss the classes during the times I've been unable to attend. The trainers are great and understanding when I have an injury and a great at offering modifications when needed. I've lost body fat and increased my strength and lean mass. It's not a cheap gym membership but I look at it as an investment in my health. As someone with a heart condition I can tell you that your health and well-being are priceless and F45 helps keep me in n both departments! I love the strength workouts, the Saturday classes are a hybrid of cardio and strength, it's always a great way to start your weekend!

Long story short, F45 is the most AMAZING fitness studio I've ever been to and I've tried them all…read more F45 is a 45 minute Functional HITT workout. Monday, Wednesday, Friday are cardio days, Tuesday and Thursdays are resistance days and Saturday is the only hour long workout that is a combo of both. I love that all the workouts are functional meaning they resemble movements you do everyday. Just like an athlete trains for their sport, people should train for activities they do everyday like pushing, pulling, squatting and jumping rather than solely train isolated movements. One thing that really stands out to me about F45 is the individual attention each member receives from the trainers. They pay attention so that they can correct your form, challenge you and encourage you to give 110% every time. There's been countless times when Trainer Jane sees me slowing down and will get down on the ground and do the exercise with me all the way to the end. When I'm getting tired and think I'll just take it easy, Trainer Andrea levels me up and pushes me to my highest potential. I highly recommend getting the heart rate monitor because it really does motivate you during class to see how hard you're working. You also get workout reports at the end of each class emailed to you, so it's nice to see how you performed during class. They also offer the 8 Week Challenge 4 times throughout the year, which I highly recommend trying! Members and nonmembers can participate in the challenge. You will workout at F45, be given a nutrition guide and plenty of support throughout the 8 weeks and will be have your body composition taken every 2 weeks. I have never been able to make a difference in my body composition and after this challenge I was finally able to lose fat while gaining muscle!

Be Careful: Billing and Contract Issues…read more I have been a strong supporter of OrangeTheory, but after my recent conversation with Anthony, Regional Manager, with the Round Rock location, my wife and I have decided not to renew our memberships. I initially signed up under a promotion described as "pay for one month and get two months free." However, I later discovered that I had been enrolled in a 12-month contract. When I requested cancellation, I was informed that the previous manager, Jay, did some shady stuff and had offered deals that he was not authorized to sell. Upon learning this, I immediately submitted written notice to cancel -- more than 30 days before the end of the three-month period. Despite this, I was charged for an additional month. I was also billed on March 1, even though the studio manager, Britany, had confirmed in writing that billing would not occur until March 15. In fact, based on the timeline, the next legitimate billing date should have been April 1. However, since I canceled my membership more than 30 days in advance, I should not have been billed at all. Additionally, I was told by the regional manager that if I hold a membership at the Round Rock studio, I cannot attend the Pflugerville studio. This was surprising and unclear, as I was clearly communicated at the time of signup that I can do so. In fact, their app does allow me schedule sessions in Pflugerville. Can someone confirm, if the regional manager is saying the truth? Overall, this experience reflects poor communication and inconsistent billing practices. As a business owner and someone who has worked with Fortune 100 companies, I believe this situation could have been handled far more transparently and professionally. I would encourage prospective members to carefully review all terms before signing up, and not trust them on the face value. Additionally, you can also explore other options in the neighborhood. #RoundRockTX #PflugervilleTX #RoundRockFitness #MembershipCancellation #BillingIssue #ContractTransparency #OrangeTheory #OrangeTheoryFitness #OrangeTheory Round Rock membership cancellation #OrangeTheory billing practices #Round Rock gym contract terms #Pflugerville OrangeTheory access policy
