PROGRAMMING: 5/5 After just 7 days, we've covered so much breadth and depth in our WODs that I've set PRs almost every day.

Today my SoulSisters and I had an ahhh-mazing workout with Marlow. He provided great instruction…read moreduring our strength's training. We had women of different ages and fitness levels, but he adapted his instruction to fit each of our needs. Definitely recommend Marlows Fitness!!

Alright, I suppose it's about time for me to write this review. I've been going to Marlow's Fitness…read moresince January 20th. I know that exact date because that was the date I read the Yelp reviews and texted a couple of friends and held my breath and jumped in this "Marlow's Movement" thing whole hog. It was... painful. It many ways. Physically of course with the weight lifting and whatnot. But also emotionally. It's bizarrely difficult to go from a generally sedentary lifestyle to something that requires five days a week and twice on Saturdays. Not. Joking. It's like slipping into someone else's life. It's not bad -- just uncomfortable. His program uses a couple of things to get you to show up and keep going. 1. Accountability: You're accountable to your team and to the program. Your participation, steps, team, weight goals, etc are all being tracked through your fitbit and myfitnesspal. 2. A reward system: If your team or you "win" the program, then you go on an all expenses paid trip to Cancun. You stay at an all-inclusive resort with the other winners. 3. Community: Since all classes are small (14 peopleish) you get to know everyone else in the movement. You become this kind of "we're all in this together" family. 4. Uncomplicated Workouts: 30 minutes of whatever cardio you prefer and 30 minutes of 45 second intervals of weights/body weight exercises. Also you'll participate in some external activities - 5Ks, Saturday morning walks, a scavenger hunt. I lost weight and continue to go to class, building my muscle, getting in better shape and it's legitimately the first time I've been able to keep it off and continue to workout. I mean, I love the ease of crash diets but just feels better.

I had the pleasure of visiting Crossfit Centex this weekend (from Austin) for a training session…read morewith their staff - whihc includes Olympic weightlifter Chad Vaughn. The gym itself is in a collection of garages behind a Wal-Mart, but has quite a bit of space inside and out. Pull up bars and plenty of room to run and play in the field outside, giant tires strewn about...Inside they have maximized the space by putting equipment in a small separate room and building the oly platforms right into the floor. I suspect this may be the only CF box in Belton, but if I were an athlete in Temple, I'd get my butt here pronto - it's an A+ facility for Crossfit that has just added an elite element for weightlifting.

I was visiting from out of town and decided to drop in for a class…read more I called the gym prior to dropping in to find out if I needed to arrive earlier than the class time listed on the website to loosen up or if it was okay to arrive at the class time listed. Showing up at the time the class is listed is fine. You are actually warmed up by an instructor prior to the workout. The instructor for the 1930 class on Monday was Tony. He warmed us up with some light kettle bell swings. He also cooled us down after the workouts as well. Both of these add a bit of community to the gym which is nice. Prior to the workout, I heard the dreaded "find a partner." I say dreaded because I was the new person! I didn't want to be the person standing awkwardly alone in the corner. :D Luckily that was not the case! I was quickly snagged by a friendly person. She was hella strong too! :D The workouts were challenging. This night there were two workouts. I don't know if that is the norm or not. The class size was about 12 people and there was one instructor. Fit and Strong is how I would describe members of the class. Everyone was positive and encouraging. The gym had a good vibe and I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking to drop in.

I've been a member here now for 4 years and I've taken over 325 classes. I took a year off in 2020…read moreduring Covid and took some recovery time from 2 heart surgeries but it always feels great to be back and I REALLY miss the classes during the times I've been unable to attend. The trainers are great and understanding when I have an injury and a great at offering modifications when needed. I've lost body fat and increased my strength and lean mass. It's not a cheap gym membership but I look at it as an investment in my health. As someone with a heart condition I can tell you that your health and well-being are priceless and F45 helps keep me in n both departments! I love the strength workouts, the Saturday classes are a hybrid of cardio and strength, it's always a great way to start your weekend!

Long story short, F45 is the most AMAZING fitness studio I've ever been to and I've tried them all…read more F45 is a 45 minute Functional HITT workout. Monday, Wednesday, Friday are cardio days, Tuesday and Thursdays are resistance days and Saturday is the only hour long workout that is a combo of both. I love that all the workouts are functional meaning they resemble movements you do everyday. Just like an athlete trains for their sport, people should train for activities they do everyday like pushing, pulling, squatting and jumping rather than solely train isolated movements. One thing that really stands out to me about F45 is the individual attention each member receives from the trainers. They pay attention so that they can correct your form, challenge you and encourage you to give 110% every time. There's been countless times when Trainer Jane sees me slowing down and will get down on the ground and do the exercise with me all the way to the end. When I'm getting tired and think I'll just take it easy, Trainer Andrea levels me up and pushes me to my highest potential. I highly recommend getting the heart rate monitor because it really does motivate you during class to see how hard you're working. You also get workout reports at the end of each class emailed to you, so it's nice to see how you performed during class. They also offer the 8 Week Challenge 4 times throughout the year, which I highly recommend trying! Members and nonmembers can participate in the challenge. You will workout at F45, be given a nutrition guide and plenty of support throughout the 8 weeks and will be have your body composition taken every 2 weeks. I have never been able to make a difference in my body composition and after this challenge I was finally able to lose fat while gaining muscle!
