Amazing food and service. I had vegan options and they were all delicious! I definitely recommend this place!

Loved every item we ordered. Some favorites were the hamachi, chicken seekh kebab and the favs bean composition with their paneer kulcha. The service and ambience was also great. It was easier to get reservation here compared to their sister restaurant, Ettan. read more

We had an early dinner there on a Friday night. We had some vegetarians and a toddler with us, and the food was a hit with everyone. Our server Aisha was wonderful and all of her recommendations were delicious. The food and drinks were great. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. For the early dinner, there were several families and young kids there, and it was upscale but not stuffy. We can't wait to go back! read more

Loved the food here. It was eclectic and new ideas for all traditional food was amazing.

nice ambiance 4.5, food very mixed. We had chicken starter, although chutneys were very good, chicken was no better then kfc, 2.0. Had a bread ,which we liked and the cod, 4.5. The lamb chops were a huge letdown. There were 2 chops, my chop had just 3 bits of meat, the rest was bone and fat, 2.0 . They are also badly in need of a dessert chef, as desserts were uninteresting, the one we had I'd rate a 1. Prices to high for what you get. We found the Ettan in Palo much better. Overall rating 3. read more

Very high end Indian cuisine...great presentation...great service. Memorable. We are definitely going to go back to this place.

Celebrated my birthday here yesterday and Eylan was the right choice all round!! Everything from the decor to the ambience, to the food, to the service was amazing. I've never experienced Indian food like this before and it was so tasty and different. Highly recommend!! read more

Wonderful place for a group gathering or a tasty romantic date location. First of all, the decor and seating vibes are all on point. The chairs are comfy, the scene is chic but also has an earth colorful vibe that matches the flavors of the food. Speaking of the food...wow! Everything is packed with flavor and zest. Sweet, tangy, spicy but not overwhelming. Crunchy when you want it to be and smooth and velvety when it should be. All and all, I can wait to go back! The Croat chicken and the anar chicken are both a must! The staff is very attentive and greets you with a smile. The service is amazing and don't forget to try all of the sauces! Enjoy! read more

Food 9 Service 2 Ambiance2 Too bad, food is great and fun to share the unusual dishes, but the service and noise dampened everyone's enjoyment.. 45 minutes to receive our first drink 15 mins for bottle of wine 20 mins for second bottle"because it wasn't cold" explained the waiter Frustrating as the delicious food arrived without any wine. My $35 "glass" of Champagne, was dismal. Even as i commented on the measly pour, the new waiter just stared at me. Really?? Fully realize that its challenging to find and train qualified staff in menlo park and certainly hope your service improves, as the food is a wonderful alternative to other more traditional restaurants in the area. Regarding the noise, why blast Indian music? The patio looked to be a quieter option, read more

Visited for a 5:30p dinner. Parking was convenient, and the elevator brought us straight to the main door. The interior looked clean, but we were seated outside under a temporary canopy with heaters, facing the Caltrain tracks, with trains passing by and horns sounding. Unfortunately, our table was right beside county sewer plates that gave off a strong odor. It was unpleasant and surprising that guests were seated there despite the smell. Unexpected. Do better. read more

Wonder ambiance and food was excellent as a vegetarian! See ice was attentive and great !

Delicious food. Had a bit of a service issue but it was rectified very graciously. Sommelier was a delight! Ambiance is beautiful.

Shocking that Eylan landed itself in the Michelin Guide--be prepared for a decidedly non-Michelin experience if you go. Whilst the food was, admittedly excellent, the service from both the waiter and the wait-staff was sub-par from the beginning and made what could have been a 5-star experience into barely a 2-star one. The waiter couldn't seem to remember how many guests got the chicken versus cod for the prix fixe menu (but weirdly refused to write it down), and had to ask us 4x if he had the order correct. The wait staff repeatedly filled the water glasses to a millimeter from the top so that water spilled over when guests tried to pick up the glass. When silverware was cleared in-between courses, multiple people at our table (on more than one occasion) weren't provided replacement silverware (and they to ask, twice, for silverware so they could enjoy their food). The wait staff repeatedly failed to explain the food to us, to a point where we didn't know that the rice bowl was to be shared between individuals. Based on the service alone, would not return to Eylan--there are too many other good restaurants that have good service to justify putting up with the poor experience we had here. read more

This restaurant is beautiful! The grilled meats are cooked perfectly and the sauces are amazing! Don't miss the halibut appetizer-delicious. Aesha, our server, was clearly busy but always gracious and friendly. She recommended the wonderful choices we made. read more

I think it's OK. Food, especially the main course, generally lacked flavor, but the service is good. Drinks were just OK. The place does not deserve the price they charge for sure. read more

Food and service is good. Went with my girls group and we liked the drinks and food. Upscale restaurant and you need reservations . I liked their dahi puri and most of vegetarian starters are good read more

Great ambiance. Love the take on grilled food. Welcome addition to our dining scene.

Unique, delicious dishes and super attentive, but appropriate service. Will definitely return to celebrate a special occasion.

TLDR: Fantastic food and even better service, great for a Indian food date night Finally a a fine dining Indian restaurant, with an extremely well trained staff for elevated dining! We chose Eylan for a special family occasion last Wednesday, since we had enjoyed our experience at Copra and Ettan We had made a prior reservation for a group of 6 and had mentioned a special occasion, so they got us a beautiful sofa table under the olive trees One of our friends had a severe gluten allergy, so we were a bit concerned, but I must say - the staff was super mindful, knew exactly what dishes could be potentially contaminated and offered great swap options. What I really appreciated was they ensured every course brought out for our group had a celiac-friendly option, to ensure the whole group enjoys the food together. This kind of service is rare for an Indian restaurant, even when categorized as "Fine Dining" - so BIG points for that I would also give extra credit for them pacing the food in perfect sequence. We ordered 2-3 dishes from each course, so 12 in total. But our table never once got overwhelmed with too much clutter or mismatched courses. The servers never made it feel rushed, infact the timing was conducive to truly savor each and every bite! This way, it never felt like we were waiting too long for the next course. Now coming to the main event - FOOD: We started with the cured hamachi, taro root chaat and Crispy Chicken. While all tasted pretty good, to me hamachi shined above all, as it was a fabulous ethnic twist to a ceviche. The flavors bloomed so well, even folks who are not fans of raw fish loved it The sweet potato Mutabar is worth mentioning, though I'd love to try the Crab Mutabar next time! The Wood Fired Grill stole the show! The King Trumpet Mushrooms had that perfect char flavor which I had last tasted in Delhi! And it stood its ground against the succulent Anar Chicken kebab and decadent Lamb Seekh kebab Tomatillo Butter Chicken was a refreshing take on the palate favorite - can't go wrong with it. I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the dry fruit naan they had mentioned in an article - hopefully they bring it back since it may perfectly balance the tart. But the Hispi Cabbage truly stood out - way to elevate a leafy green, without getting soggy and amazingly flavored through each layer. This showcased the chef's skill it understanding the textures and playing with the culinary elements such that they enhance each other instead of drowning out the taste of the vegetable The milk cake icecream hit the spot and the chef sent us his complements with delicious buttery gluten free shortbread cookies - made of pistachio and besan - rounding up our 2 hour experience beautifully I really hope the Chef and his team keep up the fantastic work - would surely visit again! P.S. I must applaud the team at Bar for great non-alcoholic and low ABV selections - we tried a few non alcoholic drinks, and let me tell you - they aren't your usually masala soda/mango lassi league. The Dirty Spritz and Weak in the knees could take down any of the cocktails! read more

Eylan offers an immersive journey into the flavors of northern India. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere sets the tone: a warm blend of modern décor and traditional touches that evoke the rich history and vibrant culture of India. The food was delicious. We had the Bellweather farm ricotta and the crispy chicken for starters. For mains we had the anar chicken kebab, lamb seekh kebab and trumpet mushrooms, yakhni pulao and sea bream. I highly recommend all of these dishes. We chose rose shaved lassi as our desert and it was a fan favorite! read more

What a delightful experience.....the food and service were top notch....as someone with not the best parking Karma, their underground parking leading to the restaurant directly was the cherry on the cake especially on chilly days. Daisy the ace server as always does not fail to impress. Overall a true blue Srijith experience.....so far would highly recommend! read more

Good food. Not very spicy versus Copra. However, there is a limit to how much one should charge for tiny serving sizes. Serving size here is 1/2 to 1/3rd vs Yellow Chilli. So, for comparative reasons, double the prices on menu. With 33% incremental in tax and 20% tip: - $25 for Bazaar Poloma was definitely not worth it. I would even say none of the cocktails looked interesting but had to try one. - 2 papdi's for $21, or around $11 for each tiny Taro Root papdi was nothing special vs dahi puri chaat at any regular indian spot. But again, it looked familiar and comfortable so ordered. $42 for 4 papdi's! Never again. - Crispy Chicken - excellent but exact same recipe from Copra - just less spicy and half the serving size. - Cornish hen - was just okay but for $41 is a complete ripoff. Considering the serving size, thats around $80 for a below average butter chicken! Really? Will not order again. My kids did not like this dish and they generally love such butter chicken dishes. - Saag was good and my wife liked it. But again, $37 for it or $74 with comparable serving size is complete ripoff. - Naans- the theme continues. Around ~1/3rd the size of typical naans for $5 each and very chewy. But $15-$20 for each naan makes no sense. - milk cake ice cream was good but again $16 for it makes no sense. I think either fame has gotten in Sri's head or he is smoking something when setting prices. Why not make it $150 pp 5 course meal then at least customers will come with right mindset. The deal breaker was the noise level and lack of planning in making the restaurant. Its a super loud restaurant so they raise the music even more. The servers were explaining dishes but we couldn't hear anything! Tables are quite small for the large plates with the small serving size. Again, no planning. Lastly, when you go to the restroom, on the way back you have to "pull" 3 doors. Hygenic? After the hype is done, I am sure this place will shut down. I will give it couple of years, at most. read more

Everything from the drinks, food and service was gr8 !! It's a nice cozy place compared to Ettan and Copra but had a nice vibe to it !! Our server Daisy recommended a couple drinks and dishes and they were awesome!! So was the Rose lassi shave dessert !! Light and so refreshing as well. Since we were too stuffed with the fish and rest of the appetizers we tried Good job Ms Thapar once again read more

Great food! Great cocktails! Great service! Decor was very authentic, with a tasteful mix of classical and modern styles.

Finally made it to Eylan , I am a huge fan of chef Srijit and enjoyed many a meals at Ettan and Copra. Hence wanted to try Eylan and also wanted to love it like I do the other two . Now while Eylan food was exquisite and the ambience was lovely the service was wayyyyyyy tooooo sloooowww . I mean annoyingly slow, we saw the staff walk around with food meant for our table walk the other way and then come back after a few minutes & serve us our appetizers. Anyways every place has its new teething problems I was willing to let it be . After our entreés and after a good 10!minute wait we got our dessert menu and then waited another 15 minutes to receive our dessert which was essentially a sundae ( not like it had to be made last minute) and while waiting for the dessert the hostess comes to our table and tells us she needs the table and would like us to hurry up and, I was like ummmmm why not hurry ur kitchen and your servers . Anyways we rushed thru dessert and paid and left and on our way out let the front desk hostess know that it might be a good idea to hurry service rather be rude and tell ur guests to hurry . Surprisingly she blamed the server and acted like it not her fault . So disappointed never expected this kind of unprofessionalism at a place like Eylan . Well guess I am not going back there again sorry Chef Srijit but perhaps some better training is required there . read more

The first time I went here was excellent (food and service) but very very loud. The second time the service was so terrible we won't be returning. We sat outside so it was not nearly as loud as inside. It took 30 minutes to get water after we asked twice and before we were able to order any food. No apologies. If we weren't celebrating our son's bday, we would have left. We got up to talk to the manager who apologized but didn't check on us for 45 minutes. Everything took forever, from drinks to food. The food was very good overall except for the desserts but, because of the service, I would not recommend. For what they charge, they can do better. read more

Food and ambiance were superb! Really worth going with family or for special occasions,

Excellent food and service. Taro chaat, Anar Chicken and Yakni pulao were excellent. Do not miss rose lassi shaved ice. Must try!

Loved this place, food and drinks were delicious, service was attentive probably my favorite concept from this group.

Great place. Great ambience and the food tasted authentic and good! The presentation was excellent and the service was really good.

Usually fusion food can be a hit or a miss, am happy that in Eylan's case it is a hit. Wonderfully amalgamation of flavors, wonderful service and great ambience. read more

The owners appeared to have scrubbed my negative review off Google, so I'm hoping that Yelp has better ethics and integrity to retain this honest review. An underwhelming and almost disappointing dinner experience, when so many other dining options exist. The facade of an upscale restaurant fell apart from the moment the menu was explained. It starts with what appear to be appetizers, then some breads, then small plates (not appetizers?) and then large plates. We were told they are all small plates, and felt coerced into needlessly ordering a lot of food. We could only talk to the person next to us because it was so ****ing loud. And then the food stumbled its way in. The experience felt like a neighborhood Indian restaurant playing out of its league and tripping over itself. A "roomali" roti popped out of the server's hands and rolled across the table only for a second server to comically stop it in its tracks and shove it back in the bamboo box it came in, like it was an animal. Another tray of 3 cups nearly slid off the server's hands but was caught in the nick of time. The devil is in the details: a fine dining restaurant must recalibrate quickly after an error, but here, it was "whoops! my bad!" and the cups left in disarray on the table. After a droning speech about how great the menu was and how the chef wanted us to order, a bread item was missed and not identified until we were looking at each other puzzled about something missing. Almost all the server staff looked like deer in headlights. The naan clearly was pan toasted and left a few minutes too long because the bottom was burned to a crisp. None of our 6 knives could cut it. Exponentially better naan comes out of most outdoor home ovens like the Solo and Ooni. The sweet potato naan-thingy was slathered in butter and nearly slipped out of my hand, because the fork didn't want it. The grilled cabbage was clever, but served in a rather incomprehensible way, in a wide moat of curry with a slightly bitter aftertaste, which took much of the cabbage's shine away. In summary, for a restaurant trying to be upscale, we expected an exceptional level of service and even better food. We didn't get either. Womp womp. read more

Amazing food I think it's better than Ethan and Chopra in sf in my opinion! Must try the lamb!

Horrible customer service even before going to the place ! I was trying to reserve for a group of 10 people . Made me wait on the line for a solid 15 min only to tell me they have only a price fix menu for a group above 6 people. No options were even offered . Surely not going to go there :) with this sort of customer service read more

Food is exquisite, ambiance is beautiful and service is on point. I would have given 5 stars if not for the fact that I was distracted the entire time by the fact that the chair height does not match the table height, making the entire time I was seated distinctly uncomfortable. I am a woman of average height (5'5'') and I felt like a child eating at the table. Other guests looked like they were eating with their elbows by their ears. I suggest offering guests booster cushions to sit on. My friend who works in the restaurant business was also in agreement and throughout dinner she kept feeling the table leg to see if it could be adjusted lower. read more

We dine at Eylan for special occasions. We've been to Copra as well and I was eager to try Eylan since it's closer to us. It's on the pricier side but I don't mind paying it for special occasions, and we order several snacks and entrees. Boyfriend is from Calcutta and he provides insight on all the dishes. We had the crispy chicken, ricotta, green grape chaas, butternut squash salad, anar chicken, and the squash blossom. The only dish that I didn't think was worth the price was the squash blossom - it's tasty but I thought it was overpriced for N of blossoms. My bf thought most dishes were over priced for the portions though I thought it was comparable to other restaurants of this quality. I was driving so couldn't have a cocktail and had the dirty spritz instead and it was tasty. Naturally we had dessert - masala chai sundae and the citrus compote and both were delicious. I like the vibe and the music though it's difficult to hear the servers. The servers were explaining dishes but we couldn't hear anything because of the music. Service was great and they kept refilling water glasses/removing empty plates and continually checked on us throughout the night. They also comped us a sorbet on each of our birthdays and sang happy birthday to us. We'll be back! read more

Fabulous food, great service and a really fun vibe. I look forward to going back again!
