This place represents every outstanding characteristic of fine dining. From the moment we stepped in to the final bite of dessert, every aspect of this restaurant seemed to outdo itself over and over. Food: Genuinely, one of the best Indian fine-dining restaurants I've been to and definitely the most creative. Stand outs: Lamb Seekh Kebab (ordered it twice) Cured Hamachi (so unexpected from Indian restaurant but better than most Japanese places that specialize in it) Chicken Karaage Mushroom Trumpet Squash Blossom Service: Suzanna and Shane were phenomenal hosts and treated every member at the table like family. Extremely thorough with their explanation of the menu and provided great food and wine recommendations. Ambience: Beautifully decorated interior that blended the traditional murals and paintings on the walls with the modern seating and trees in the center. Fantastic place for celebrations or just an out-of-world gastronomic experience. read more

Eylan offers a very Interesting menu, vibrant vibes and a great experience overall. We just felt that the service was a tad bit slow. We went on a Wednesday evening and they were at capacity so that could be the reason. Nonetheless I definitely recommend this cal-Indian cuisine. read more

The food was okay but the service, particularly the hosting, was below par. The waitress did an good job, but the bad hosting experience ruined our valentine's day evening. Foremost, I made a reservation via OpenTable at a given time. About an hour before, I postponed the reservation until 45 minutes later. I received a text from OpenTable asking whether I was going to make it. I responded with an affirmative and showed this to the hostess. At the restaurant, there was a couple ahead of us without reservations, and they were placed at the bar, which they complained about, and were then taken to a really good seat in the middle of the restaurant. We continued to wait, and the hostesses, one tall, who was doing absolutely nothing, not even smiling, and the short one, told us that she had canceled our reservation as a no-show. When I showed her the text, she said she would try to find us a table. The place was pretty much empty, and I do not know what the issue was. Finally we were seated at an extremely inconvenient location, right next to the door to the kitchen, where people kept coming in and going out of. To add insult, the (short) hostess told us to finish by a certain time. WTF. I have no control over how quickly they serve...so this was absolutely unprofessional. This place is overrated and underperforms. There are a lot of "disconnects". The dim lights and shifty menu with such tiny font that nobody can read, piles on to the bad experience following the attitude by the hostesses. The waitress, though super nice, did not provide us with clean plates for the main course, until we asked for them. The (white) wine was warm and the waitress had little experience with cooling it in a bucket. The busboys poured water right above our plates and food...picking up the glass and pouring the water, or pouring from the side, would have been a more hygienic and professional experience. The kichadi was too spicy for our taste -- checking with the guests about their desired spice level would have been nice. The gravy that went with the lamb was too salty. I am a foodie and have been to 1000s of restaurants all over the world, including more than 100+ Michelin starred restaurants from Tokyo to SFO. This one has a very, very long way to go. Pouring money into marketing is not going solve anything. Food culture should come from deep within and from every employee. Employees must be committed to making sure patrons not only have a fantastic culinary, but also a cultural experience. When people are working for minimum wage and doing what they are told, you will experience this disconnect between menu, ambience, employees, and experience. read more

Some of the tables are placed at horrible locations, for eg. in the middle of a busy walkway between the reception and the patio. Unfortunately we were seated there. The server completely forgot to take our order. Then 20 mins later a different server stopped by and asked if we wanted anything. Food was ok, Ettan is certainly better. Adding an extra star for the second server who went out of her way to make it up to us and gave us excellent service. read more

A great new addition to Menlo Park! Eylan is a beautifully decorated Cali-Indian restaurant meaning that you'll find non-traditional Indian flavors and lots of seafood based dishes. Our favorites on the menu were the taro chaat, king trumpet mushrooms, and the anar chicken sigri kebab. The service was great and our dishes came perfectly out on time. Also loved the pistachio cookies that came with the check. Definitely will be back and excited to see how they continually evolve the menu. read more

The food was delicious, the service superb, and the portions just right. One note of caution: think twice before purchasing gift certificates. Their system for handling them feels outdated and can make the experience awkward for the recipient and uncomfortable for the person who gave the gift. read more

This is hands down now our favorite Indian fusion restaurant in the South Bay! We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything from cocktails to food was simply Michelin star worthy! The service was also great although my suggestion would be to allow guests to finish what's on their plate before asking whether to clear it. It was a minor thing but overall really loved the food and hence the 5 stars. read more

Eylan - Indian Near Me - Menlo Park, California

The food at Eylan was amazing -- great flavors, perfect cooking, and beautiful presentation. We loved everything we ordered. Taking off one star for two reasons: drinks were delayed, and the place is extremely loud. We had to raise our voices to talk, which took away from the experience. They could really improve the acoustics. read more

Tried this restaurant with my friends one night, the food and service were so good I came back the next night with my family. One of our new favorite places to eat. Highly recommend trying it! Upscale Indian food. read more

Hands down the best meal we've had in the bay area! We opted for the 5-course meal which ended up being just the right amount of food without feeling overstuffed. We went on a Friday night and the ambiance was spectacular. The decor was quite fancy with overflowing plants including olive trees, patterned tiles, and upscale furnishings. The atmosphere was quite lively as the place was packed. Despite how busy it was, our service was on the spot with our server checking in with us before and in between each course. The highlight was the food of course. Each creation was a 5/5, not a single dish disappointed. Especially innovative was the lobster coconut curry coated with crispy kurmure. Also the dessert malai ice cream topped mango sorbet with candied citron and blood orange was an explosion of flavors and the perfect end to our meal. The complimentary mithai courtesy of the chef after the dessert almost felt like a letdown! Pictures of our courses included below. Overall the 5-course dinner for two was a bit pricey but felt like it was the perfect choice for a special end of the year celebratory meal. read more

As longtime fans of Ettan, we had high hopes for Eylan when we chose it for a birthday dinner. The hostess's birthday greeting was a lovely touch, but things went downhill from there. We were seated by the door on a chilly night and politely asked to move to an outdoor table near the heat lamps. The hostess seemed inconvenienced by the request and even assumed we were moving cutlery between tables. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome from the start. The service issues continued throughout the meal. Our order was mixed up, our children's starters arrived at the very end of the meal, and the roti for our mains never came despite multiple requests. Wait times exceeded an hour for all our food to arrive, and staff clearly weren't communicating with each other. What made it worse was the complete lack of acknowledgment, not even a sincere apology at the end of the meal. Instead, they blamed the problems on us moving tables and the waiter not updating the order, as if that excused the disorganization. We ordered taro root chaat, crispy chicken, gulf shrimp, charred black cod, squash blossom, rumali roti, and cocktails, all of which were very good. The food itself was great, which makes the experience all the more frustrating. On what should have been a special occasion, the staff made no effort to make the dinner feel celebratory and didn't offer to make amends in any way. The poor service completely overshadowed the quality of the dishes. For a $300 dinner, we expected far better. We won't be returning. read more

The atmosphere, presentation, and service were great. The wine and cocktails way overpriced. The pulao was decent. But I've had much better at 1/2 the price. If your a foodie, I can't recommend this place read more

The ambience in this place is really nice. The signature large door entrance seems to be iconic with the owner's restaurants. We had 7 of use take the booth style table. If you have more than 6, I believe you have to do a Prix Fixe menu, which is what we did. The selections on the menu all had very mouth watering descriptions. The drinks were on point. We have a variety of them ordered at the table. Not gonna bore you with naming every dish but the menu I am posting will have it on there. We did add a few dishes such as the wagyu steak, an extra game hen dish and the hamachi. The table accompaniments with the eggplant dip (similar to Baba Ganoush), the raita (yogurt), and aachaar (pickled veggies) along with the very tasty hot sauce spread and chutneys were a must with every bite! The banquet manager who just happened to be attending to us was a total blast! The service is superb with everyone asking if we are good and if the quality of food was good. You definitely feel loved and special here. I gave it a 4 as it is somewhere around 4.3 stars. The chicken biryani had way too much cloves infused and garam masala in it. It was way too strong of a flavor for me. I have had better biryani at the San Jose Halal Market. Seven people should not have to be forced to have prix fixe menu. You do leave stuffed at the end of it, but it's also because we added 3 extra dishes. I definitely think Eylan is better than Etaan, the sister restaurant. It is a different menu and different vibe and I enjoyed the food more here. Etaan has a lot more seating which is great while Eylan is definitely more cozy. read more

Delicious. Wow. Food is creative and so good. Service was not great. The patio is Bad. Couch is uncomfortable and very low, compared to the table. Cold on a cool November night. No blankets were offered. read more

have been here a few times and a few things on the menu are standout well executed like the fried chicken, oysters, pineapple kebab. a lot of the menu and especially the cocktails feels like they are trying too hard TBH. Too many ingredients per dish or drink and making a standout memorable flavor hard to discern. perfect example is their take on the Paloma cocktail. it is so busy and the tandoori spices just make it taste like a confused drink read more

Hidden Fees Ruined a Birthday Celebration We had a lovely birthday dinner for one of our friends until the check arrived, and we were hit with completely unexpected surcharges. First, there was a 3% "Quality of Life Surcharge" added to the entire bill, which was never disclosed anywhere--not on the menu, and not by our server. Second, we were charged a $5 per-person cake cutting fee, totaling $25 just to serve a small piece of cake to our party of four. A reasonable flat-fee corkage or cutting fee is understandable, but $5 per person is excessive. These surprise, excessive fees completely ruined our experience and left a very bitter taste. We will not be returning, and we caution future diners to inquire about all hidden charges before ordering. read more

One of the best Indian places on the peninsula. Basically everything hit although I'd say stick to the tasters at the front of the menu as they're more fun to share read more

It's a beautiful restaurant. We went there for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant gets pretty loud when it's at capacity. And the lighting is dim. I saw people using their phone lights to read the menu. It gave me a lounge kind of vibe (very different than Ettan). The service was impeccable. Our server was very vigilant without being intrusive. Very friendly. And explained the menu and the dishes. The food was great. We ordered green grape chaas, taro root chaat, squash blossom, king trumpet mushrooms and hispi cabbage. My favorite was the chaat and the chaas. The chaas was a great take on pani-puri and is definitely worth trying. Overall, a great experience. Just be aware that it might be a little loud when at capacity and the lighting might be little dark for some. But that probably was intentional. read more

As expected the food is so good, better than Ettan I think. There were things with a nice twist on them. Everything made me think comfort elevated comfort food. Being new I thought maybe service would be clunky but everyone was great. Cocktails were delish and well balanced. The location is brand new, great parking and beautiful decor. They play fun and varied music that adds to the fun vibe. :) read more

Eylan delivered one of the best dinners we've had on the Peninsula. Our group of five included two people observing Greek Orthodox fasting during the holiday season, which means no red meat but fish and poultry are allowed -- and the menu fit that perfectly. The half-order of oysters was an instant favorite, ice-cold and briny, and set the tone for the whole night. The starters were bright and inviting, especially the Brussels Salad, Taro Root Chaat, and Green Grape Chaas. The Flava Fave mocktails were a genuine highlight -- bright, layered, and crafted with real intention. They balance citrus, spice, and gentle sweetness in a way that feels refined and refreshing. These aren't "mocktails" in the throwaway sense; they taste like thoughtful, grown-up drinks. That comes straight from Phil, the head bartender and a friend for years, whose touch shows in every detail. If you sit at the bar, ask for him -- he'll steer you exactly right. The breads -- especially the Koginut Mutabar and Flaxseed Poori -- were essential and paired perfectly with the wood-fired dishes. The King Trumpet Mushrooms and Honeynut Squash brought deep, satisfying flavors, while the Gulf Shrimp and Chicken Seekh Kebab added bright spice and fire. The River Trout turned out to be one of the best dishes of the night -- buttery, delicate, and cooked to perfection. Service made the evening feel complete. Vishal guided us through the menu with confidence and warmth, pacing the meal just right. The team even comped desserts for a low-key birthday at the table, a gracious gesture that rounded out the night. Beautiful atmosphere, spot-on service, and food that's creative without being precious. Eylan is an easy five stars, and we're already planning our next visit. read more

We had a great experience at Eylan. Shane Martinez, the GM was very welcoming and his team were gracious hosts to our dining experience. The food was fantastic and presentation top notch. Eylan is yet another Cal Indian restaurant to join this growing trend on the peninsula. It's located in one of the new developments on El Camino Real in Menlo Park, and parking for the complex is easy underground (free). Drinks: - Bazaar Paloma: good to start - La Guadalatini: like a milk punch - Techies, guns, and money: a rum based old fashioned with a hint of pandan Food: - Eylan crispy chicken: they were able to do this without spice for the kids - Eylan eye: a pancake with hens egg, truffle, coconut vinaigrette. The acid from the vinaigrette was a nice balance for the runny egg yolk and truffle - Roti: a single thin pancake, so eat it while it's hot or else it gets hard - Day boat scallops: with cauliflower kebab, apricot, curry leaf and ginger turmeric emulsion. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but there were only 2. This yellow curry was reminiscent of a Thai curry, and it was great with rice - Gulf shrimp kebab: 4 large shrimp with pi les and raita - Fava bean composition: fava leaf saag, paneer, and fava bean fritters - super interesting and a nice take on traditional saag with paneer - Eylan chicken yakhni pulao: very flavorful and with a lot of chicken. The accompaniments added even more depth to this - Shaved mango lassi: mango sorbet, lime creme, pistachio, fresh Alfonso mango. Not too sweet, well balanced between the fruit and cream Pricing is a bit higher than some other modern Indian places, but it's a beautiful setting (we were on the patio), and the food was definitely interesting and complex. We went on Father's Day, and it was packed on a Sunday night. They've been open for a few months now, and despite it being at capacity at 6pm, service and food pacing were all very smooth. read more

Food is delicious. Good blend of Indian spices with a modern twist. The appetizers/small plates were the highlights. Larger plates were good but not as exciting. We ordered 2 types of flatbread, they ran out of one, rather than telling us, they doubled up on the one type. Preferred that asked as it was ranked the lowest of all the items we ordered. Their corkage is outrageous and the noise level is high, a little challenging. read more

Severely overrated. Online reviews say that restaurant's decor is excellent, but I found it felt like just a nicer diner ambiance compared to Ettan, which had amazing ambience in comparison . Service was barely 3 stars. We were constantly waiting for the server to ask for missing items, like lack of serving spoons, and spacing of food arrival was off and the lamb chops were ordered at medium rare and it came out well done! The server seems surprised that we sent it back to the kitchen but hello, this is supposed to be a high-end restaurant? and the chef should know how to cook lamb chops! I went with a friend and just for the two of us with two glasses of wine only with tips was almost $200 a person. read more

I was excited to try Eylan because I'm a huge fan of Ettan. Ambiance and food were both worse than Ettan IMO- it was too loud in Eylan and there wasn't any outdoor seating available. Food was also not as fresh tasting or flavorful as Ettan, maybe because it was busier than Ettan normally is. We were pleasantly surprised by the grilled pineapple and the Eylan crispy chicken, but the highlight was the frozen rose lassi dessert, which was creamy from the whipped yogurt and had a nice strawberry cream filling. read more

Eylan was a great experience. The food was delicious -- I particularly enjoyed the hamachi, lamb, shrimp, crispy chicken, and the chicken pulao. The service was incredible and the meal well-paced, and the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. Will certainly be back! read more

Eylan is the newest upscale restaurant from the same owner who owns Ettan and Copra. So our expectations were high. Upon checking in, we are told- our "gorgeous" seat awaits us. In reality it was a table pinned to the wall where we were asked to sit. I'm claustrophobic and I immediately asked if there is an alternate seat available. Apparently they were fully booked and the only other table was another similar one pinned to a corner. Seating in general is super cramped up. Even without wanting, we were a passive participant of the next table's conversations. The tables are that close! The server asked us to place full order in one go, citing the reason- we want to space out the dishes so that you have a wonderful dining experience. Turned out there was a long gap- between when the starters were served and when the main course came in. I had to ask another server for the food because ours was nowhere to be found. It was a special occasion that we were celebrating, but from the beginning itself nothing was satisfactory. The 2 stars are just for the food, it was okay. Nothing exceptional. We have had wonderful experiences in Ettan as well as Copra. May repeat them but certainly would skip Eylan- reality is far away from the tall promises they make. 'May'- because now with this Eylan experience, I'm doubtful about their current practices at the other locations too! Did not feel that they tried to make our celebration special, so we just paid and left, because we wanted to leave so badly. And, yes, we had a reservation, and details of the celebration were categorically mentioned in the reservation details. read more

We were craving to get a reservation for 2 but unfortunately it seems like they aren't accepting any online reservations at the moment. So we thought to walk in instead as my friend suggested and that worked out. What we understood after reaching out there was they blocked some online reservations for the 1st week since it's an opening also that they can provide smooth service. Manager named shane took care of us through the dinner and kept checking on us. Kudos to him Coming to the food we have tried their 1. Eylan crispy chicken (best) 2. Lamb seek kebab (super soft and juicy) 3. Eylan eye with black truffle (yumm) 4. Black cod ( 6 stars if there was one like that) 5. Whole Seabreem Excellent service, ambience and awesome food over all Will definitely be back and recommend to friends as we love chef sir's food and wosh him all the best read more

Such a lovely place! So much went into the extensive interior design, menu of the food and the fun bar menu. The service is excellent! Out of everything iv tried, the oysters were still the highlight and when I'll come back for but don't get me wrong all the door was wonderful. The restaurant is a cell phone dead zone.
