My son has been seeing Dr. Adair for two years. Today I called to schedule his yearly appointment and the person who answered was absolutely stupid. She told me that my sons medical insurance number wasn't pulling up...then she just sat there and didn't offer anything else. After I told her my sons insurance had not changed and was still effective she said "Well maybe we just don't take that insurance anymore" and then she sat there AGAIN and didn't say anything further. CAN YOU CHECK ON IT??? She never checked to see or offered ANY help whatsoever. I'm not sure if she's on drugs or just the dumbest person ever. I'm so disgusted and looking for a new optometrist. I feel bad because Dr. Adair is really kind and a good doctor but unfortunately his staff are the most unhelpful idiots I've ever encountered at a doctors office. read more

I've never had my eyes checked before visiting Dr. Adair. He instantly made me comfortable as he is clearly an experienced and knowledgeable practitioner, but also makes the check-up experience quite a bit of fun. I ended up finding that I have astigmatism and got a pair of frames ordered the same day. His assistant Cornelia was very pleasant and helpful. Dr Adair is awesome! My kids (17 and 10) have gone to him since they were babies and he's always been on time, professional, and friendly. He's also the first eye dr that noticed I needed prisms in my glasses after going to 4-5 and not getting prescriptions that I could see out of. He also does a lot of volunteer work with disadvantaged kids so there's that. And his staff are just as awesome as he is! read more

My husband saw Dr. Adair for just one exam and spoke very favorably of his experience, including selection of frames. Shortly after his visit, Dr. Adair sold the business (my husband received notification by mail) and we are now both patients of Dr. Lu/Capitol Optometry. I really like Dr. Lu and her optician, felt relaxed during my first appointment, and they both helped me choose attractive frames that fit my tight budget. Yes, their contact lens prices are high, but I've never been to any optometrist that could compete with Costco's lens prices. Also, Capitol Optometry provides validation for City parking lots (up to two hours, I think). read more

Dr. Adair and his staff are heads above many that I've tried. They make a concerted effort to explain all their procedures and answer any questions, plus stay on schedule and make my appointment time pleasant. Dr. Adair gave me all the time needed to explain the change in my eyesight and what could be expected from a new prescription for lens correction. It came down to the fact that my eyesight would best be improved if I went forward with cataract surgery. His goal was clearly to give me the best results possible even if it meant a referral. read more

I have been with Adair for years, and they have ALWAYS been so polite and personable. I feel like they always go the extra mile for me. I would say the only downside is the parking and having to plug the meeter, but I also feel it is worth it. Lost my frame preferences 2 years in a row. I went in in December of 2019 for my annual exam and to pick out my frames . My order could not be submitted until 1/1/2020 . The tech said this would not be a issue. Frames and preferences were"saved " and would be submitted after the new year. Fast forward to the 3rd week in January and no glasses. Call no one calls back . Call again no call back. Call third time get a email a supposed snag with my insurance. E- mail the back no response. Check with my insurance myself no problem there. Two weeks later still no call or email. Call again, get put on hold . While on hold it rings through and another person answers . I explain the problem again . She tells me my order was in the system too long and was deleted...... Then she says I have to come back in to pick a new frame and be measured again because none of this information was in my chart.... She was rude and treated me like it was my fault they lost my order! I hang up and the original person I was talking to calls me back. I tell her what I was told and how rude her co-worker was. I ask that she resolve this issue and call me back within 24 hours or they would loose a patient. I never heard back from them or got a apology. They used to be a family operated business but sold to a large organization. This organization seems more interested in quantity than quality. They also lost my order the previous year then "found " it but it was not the frame I picked out and the bifocal measurement was off. I will not be going back . They also seem to have a high staff turnover as I never saw the same person twice. read more

Very disappointed with customer service. Had an emergency come up and called to ask if I should reschedule or if later appointment was available. Was told to just come in and they would work me in (thought wow great office the reviews were right - NOT!). After picking my child up from her school and paying to park downtown got to the office only to be told I'm sorry we are booked for the rest of the afternoon and can't see you. Was a complete waste of my time and money. If you can't work people in just reschedule this was very disrespectful of us and really poor customer service. Now I'm out money and time and my kid has missed school for nothing. read more

I really can't thank Dr. Adair and his staff enough. I had an eye emergency and needed to be seen ASAP. Being new to the area and needing to find somewhere close to home I called his office and was scheduled an hour later. Dr. Adair did a full exam and was very patient with me while addressing all of my concerns. Later in the week I had a follow up appointment and everyone in the office was wonderful. There was no wait time and I was treated more like a family member rather than just another number. I have been wearing glasses/contacts for most of my life so I have had many experiences with optometrists over the years. I had a contact stuck in my eye the staff got me right in and Dr Adair was so comforting telling me it was going to be okay. Reassurance the contact was gone and I would be fine made my day. I've been going to Dr. Adair's office for about ten years, and I've never had a bad experience. The office is welcoming, clean, and professional. I used to see Dr. Adair for all my appointments, but for a few years I've been seeing Dr. Rastani. Both of them are easy to work with and keep me informed about the state of health of my eyes. Cornelia, the optician, is fantastic. She has helped me pick out frames every time I've gotten new ones, and I trust her implicitly to tell me which ones look best. I am all about Customer Service and I am NOT impressed with this place. My partner and I went in for our appointment and were asked to pay a 75$ fitting fee (I have used my insurance for 4 years and have NEVER heard of this fee) I called my insurance and they said that was more than anything they charge but if the eye doctor wants they can charge a fitting fee (most just dont) I asked if I could pay this when I picked up my contacts I was told NO and was forced to reschedule and come back.
